Some clarification on my top 4 picks:
Many applicants went on their own personal routes rather than complying to Tuni's direction, which was to emulate the outfit provided. Either you did not read what was being asked carefully, or misinterpreted what "emulation" was.
You could've taken these approaches to have successful entries:
1. Mimic the silhouette/body language of the provided model.
Stick to the basics. Emulate the shape, and simply change the items and article of clothing of your avatar entry. It's like tracing; change the color, style, and other elements, but keep the form.
2. Create your avatar in the same universe as the original.
Make it consistent as if the original and your entry belong in the same universe. You can still apply your own style while aligning it to "Tuni's style" if that makes sense.
3. Use the same items as blueprint.
Yes, use the same items as the original, or recolors of it, BUT treat them as blueprint as you construct your entry. I encourage you to do that so you understand Tuni's process, her layering, item choices, etc. Always consider the source and when you do, it will reflect in your work. That part will be clear to the judges because it will show that your representation took inspiration from the model. In the end, you can replace the copied items as you progress.
----
Some judges have defined what emulation is, but based on a particular judge's picks, I don't think that person fully understood what it entails.
There were several stylized entries that impressed me, but because those didn't follow the parameters of emulation, or have gone way beyond what was clearly instructed, they didn't make it in my Top 4.
