Apparently making your avatar vanish is a much sought after trick. Ever since I made my first scenery avatar a couple of days ago, I've been getting the 'how?' in the forums, in PM and on my profile.
And my fingers are cramping up now from typing out all the replies... sweatdrop
But not being one to keep tricks like this for myself: here's the how to for you all to read and try~
Step 01) Turn your avatar around:
Though not necessary for the vanishing act to work, I've learned that quite a lot of items can be equipped when you've turned your avatar around whereas very little work when the avatar is facing you.
You can see what I mean in the spoiler below.
Step 02) Add
: 
Step 03) Add
(I am Wisp): 
Step 04) Add
(Buer): 
Step 05) Hunt down a background that shows up:
A couple of backgrounds that work: (Night) Bug Wanderer, Evertree Embrace, Ghoul's Acre/End, Boundless Gaze, Wedding Venue, In the Ruhk, War Game, Kyubon's Night/Dusk/Eclipse, Strike of the Giants and many more.
It's a series of trial and errors to find the items that work.
Keep in mind: backgrounds won't equip/show if they don't work.
Step 06) Remove the Ants and build from there:
EDIT 2015-09-30:
If you use Astra's with the Wisp/Buer combo, keep the following in mind:
* If you use 1 Astra: Equip as the last item!
* If you use more than 1 Astra (max. is 2), equip all of them as the final items. Toy around with the order of equipping them! The results can vary quite a lot!
Edit:
The following combination works great with a lot of Astra's:
(in the mirror) + any I Am pose that is smaller (like the cats etc.)
You don't have to turn your avatar around for this little trick.
Astra's that work: The breezes, wings, horns, emotes, butterflies, eyes, cookies and pies, books.
In short: every Astra that's NOT a background. There's also the big drawback from this combo: backgrounds don't work.
Another downside would be that you can not equip more than two Astra's in animated pose.
