Here's my take on an opal avi. I've found lavender to be somewhat of a good compliment to opal, so I stuck some lavender hair on it. The blue eyes also compliment the bluish scheme of the opal.

Lyra is amazing and I'm glad it finally received some attention, I was tired of having hair that didn't match anything lmao

I really don't care for either of these schemes, honestly.

Like, I dig the jewel look that Opal has, but it's just not a scheme I'd use. And for Lyra, the pink and blue used look nice, but imo the addition of yellow just makes it look kinda muddy tbh. (Though I guess that's bound to happen with a three color gradient)

But I will say I do like how they did the first pose of

I like some opalescent items, but whether I like the item or not depends how its shaded/drawn, sometimes the outlines with be too dark and it'll look really weird with everything else. Now I will say this, depending on whatever other color you mix it with, it will either be the ugliest thing ever made or the neatest. Earlier I was playing around with a Starry/Opalescent avi and I really like it. I also messed around with Opal/Duoponi, and Opal/Lyra.
I like Lyra, I've been collecting it since the beginning, I just wish there were more BG items in this scheme.
I forgot to add, something that annoys me about both these schemes it that you cant really have a casual avi with either of them, Its always big floofy dresses, fairies, angels or magical girls. Dont get me wrong, I like all those things, but its a really limiting thing for a color scheme. (Now that I think about it, I think this is the problem with all gradient color schemes.)

Ah Vanilla, one of the pale yellows I like. I wish there was more. I rather like it with the Lavender to form Taro. Apparently I’m not alone as that Taro hair is actually user made

Tinsel on the other hand. Well at this point I can’t stand Ghastly purple in general, not because it’s a bad purple but because it’s so over used. There’s been at least one item containing the color every week for over a year (surprisingly none so far in Aug). Even so I know a lot of people like it so it’s not like I’ll will it away or anything

I never heard of the tinsel color scheme until today! I actually really enjoyed making this avi!
I love the vanilla with the soft purple, It made me think whimsical yet mysterious.

i think the only reason i like tinsel more than the ghastly scheme is the trade of offblack/raven with the whites, making it such a light and airy scheme, rather than the moody and dark scheme ghastly is. in general though, i'm not a fan of purples.

i like vanilla yellow, but with how close in color they are, it's just another cream color to me. could prolly substitute cream in for the yellow, and it wouldn't be too off.

Ah, I'll come up with something shortly and see about tips. I was hoping to add my Lyra to the showcase before it turned, but alas, I'll switch soon. I've worked with tinsel before, and vanilla is a longtime favorite, lots of old items.

I love vanilla, though typically slot it under 'cream', which many old tags pre-color schemes do. There's a lot of it out there. As far as Taro goes....do these older items + oddly toned item count?

I just have trouble seeing color quite like you do, I think, and it's very important for me to check with others. I can probably find plenty of old items like these, I was rather in love with it way back when, because I needed more cream to match Petal Professor Hana...speaking of...vanilla?


I shared your ghastly allergy (until Krom/Shoburn made a pair of ghastly ram horns and then I was doomed), but tinsel is such a wonderful way to lighten it up! No bad gradient, no gloom and spook, a touch of gold, extremely attractive. I'm super into tinsel, despite it being the much-overused purple, because they keep picking the perfect items for it.

I'm having trouble differentiating them, agreed. To me, it looks like old-school cream, and any of the older lavender-cream items would work. But I could be entirely wrong about that.

Tinsel, though. Give me light, airy, and graceful any day. Splash some gold onto two paler colors and you've probably caught me. Even if I didn't particularly like the purple, since Gaia is overusing purple recently...They made ramhorns in tinsel, and I was doomed to wear the scheme. Not utilizing a good pair of ramhorns would be criminal. So here I am, loving tinsel.

Make ramhorns in any scheme and I promise I'll wear the scheme, even if I was loudly opposed to said scheme beforehand.
