I'm a little late to the discussion but the Fenghuang orange reminds me of the orange in

You are absolutely correct, and I did try to mix those Gem2Koo Horns with Inari's Beads for an Inspired-by-Fenghuang look, but it kept getting super-busy colourwise, so I ditched it. sweatdrop

For this week's schemes, I am mildly interested in the greyed purple of Muted but do not like any poses in the available items and don't like having it mixed with offblack (which is because I dislike mixing grey-base colours with yellow-base colours. I can be quite picky about this, but evidently not everyone can see the distinction. My artist husband is colourblind on this axis).

Black Doris is wonderful. I definitely want more solid-colour clothing poses in that deep blackberry colour. emotion_jawdrop Having discovered that Rosso (of Picolitrosso's Urn fame) matches the accent colour, I am excited to create some Black Doris outfits but have not yet completed any. Related: Ugh, just hurry up and sell, stuff in my store! I need that Black Doris Lucem stole pose. crying

Muted is one of those desaturated schemes that I really adore. It speaks to my inner goth. And I absolutely live for purple. There are a handful of items that I'd use in this scheme, but I'd like to see more recolors in the future.

Black Doris is a scheme that took me by surprise when it first debuted. I never expected to actually like Magenta with everything else in it, but I actually do. I think it helps that it's used more as a highlight or an accent. Like Muted, there are a few items that I'd use in this scheme, but I want more recolors.

I feel like I have an ultimate goal to recreate all of my favorite witch outfits that I've ever made in as many of my favorite schemes as possible.

Love these two schemes! I've been pretty picky on the purples here on Gaia but Mute's Anko is just really lovely. I think it has a lot of potential to be in some of it's own schemes like Liseran Purple does.

Ofc Black Doris gets a lot of love form me as well. The wine red is very pleasing and works with the magenta really well. Funnily enough I really want this scheme in more witchy/spooky items. It reads as a good 'supernatural" color to me!

I haven't had a lot of time to really play around with both of them but I'll post what I got

I forgot to mention that last week was one of our highest vote counts in a while! With about 70 votes overall (yes and no). Seems like Gaia better pick up Fenghuang and stat!

i would die for these two color schemes lul i love them so much even tho i own near nothing in either of them emo (only 4 items in mute & only 3 in black doris)

black doris took a little to grow on me originally, but i quite like it now. mute i loved right away. idk i really like the purple and i think it goes well with black

here's a mute avi i made earlier this yr though; i did use sootberry for the hair and the collar because none of my other mute items went well with the theme of the avi and sootberry looks pretty well with the theme imo

I am a fan of both schemes. Just wish I had more of both sweatdrop
I do have more Black Doris than Mute. So for now, I like to combine it with other things.

This is my second attempt at a Black Doris, I got a few more items and I love more black items with it.

Muted is nice but doesn't isn't eye-catching enough for my tastes. When it comes to Black Doris, I find the white a bit stark and undercutting to that delicious red berry color. I wish it was a much darker gray. Still, gorgeous items have come out of it.

I have had a mock for Black Doris since November ready to go. I've been waiting even longer for this scheme come around.



I really like wine as a colour. It's like dark burgundy but better cos it's alcoholic. I think despite being dark, it's still quite a rich colour which makes it really nice to look at. I prefer it as the main colour in the scheme with lighter aspects, instead of adding in off-black, however, keeping everything dark does work for certain avatar designs, I suppose.

The addition of the pink/magenta I'm a bit more skeptical on. As per my mocks, I don't mind using it, but with purpose. Adding it to big patches of clothing doesn't really gel with me because it pops out too much and then clashes as something very artificial.

I have no serious thoughts on mute. It doesn't look like a scheme, it's just a colour highlight. For blending, not for individual use, and it's not an exciting colour.

Correct! At least from items I sourced quickly. You'll notice that some items are also, as a result, not tagged magenta. Because they're not magenta.

I agree about the richness of the wine colour as being quite compelling and would like to see it on pieces I am likely to use. I also agree about not mixing off-black into the wine; as I noted above, to my eyes, the wine is grey-based, while off-black is yellow-based, so trying to mix these is aesthetically displeasing to me.
