I really like the scheme. I've always liked it. Just not enough exists to utilize it properly. There's lovely cosmic items out there, but trillions is not something I will ever go for.
Confession Time: I requested this scheme to be featured because I love it, BUT I CAN'T ACTUALLY AFFORD ANY OF IT. crying
These super-deep greens, blues, indigos . . . just can't get enough. Like the deep sea or a summer sky just after twilight.
Yes, I would love it even more without the rainbow/glow/star overlay. Just gimme the deep, deep richness ~ emotion_kirakira
I've been buried at work this week, but I'll try to make at least one outfit for Cosmic even if I have to do it with items I can't afford to own. sweatdrop
Alright y'all there's been some talk about hosting avatars for the showcase so I'm hoping to help out with that.
If you own the items you are using:
-Favoriting the avatar is the best method to preserve it. You can favorite it yourself or if you have it equipped when posting we can favorite it for you. You can also setup a time to cycle through avatars you want faved all at once (pm this account)
If you do not own the items you are using:
-Use avatar builder and when finished click the appropriate BBCode link (found above View Equipped Market Data) You'll get something that looks a bit like this
The only part you need is the very first IMG tag and just post that here!
-You can save in your outfit slots and post a link here. The downside is you can't use these slots if you do. If you do this and would like your avatars saved after the showcase please let us know and we can move them to our host
-Host them on a 3rd party site somewhere. If you delete them they disappear from the archives though, these generally get considered as permanent and aren't saved by hosts
-Super brand new, hosting via our unofficially official Tumblr! If you have an account you can be added to the "blog" so that you can make your own posts with your avatars. It's basically like normal 3rd party hosting but you don't have to keep them in your own account. PM this account
If anyone has other solutions we're totally up to adding them to this list too but I think this covers the basics. Hopefully this is helpful!
I was just introduced to it earlier this year, when my favorite item, This Universe, got a recolor in it. It's a really pretty scheme, and I hope we see many more items in it. (esp affordable ones!) I'm really glad it got featured this week, I hope more people find out about it, and also I learned about a few new (to me) items in it.
Oasis I'm more on the fence about. I love teal, but I've never been much of a gold person. I tend to like it best when the teal is shaded more deeply, like the dress Krys is Fly is wearing in the avatar showcase section. (What item is that, btw?)
PS: If you ever find yourself looking for a legmod to go with This Cosmic Universe's skin, Cosmic Starcandy + Bewere of Wolf or Cheshire Cat cutters works like a charm.
Now, if I could just find something to be a good armmod for it... emotion_0A0
Cosmic is a scheme I only really like when creative avi builders use it. Like, I would never collect it myself, but I just love seeing what others can do with that cosmic items.
Love oasis.Teal and cold in the same scheme is wonderful. It just works, on the most basic of levels, for me Would not mind if newer oasis items used ivory over offblack.
On another note, I'm looking through the MP under the tag 'cosmic' and it's a bit misleading/confusing when 'cosmic' is also used as an adjective for the galaxy/comet scheme. So some Gaians might be confused and use the blue/purple/pink scheme instead of the dark teal/green scheme.
i love the oasis (opulent?) color scheme
i actually have this avatar i've been working on for like a month or two now in the color scheme (below) but there aren't enough items that fit the look i'm going for or that i can afford to finish this avi ;c
i do like cosmic, but i feel that it's one of those schemes that has to be utilized properly to look nice which i prolly couldn't pull off myself
I really love the fall/autumn schemes in general and what I like most about this one is that instead of a fiery red like the other autumn scheme, you have more earthy colors like the pine green, buttery yellow, sable and pumpkin orange. So of course I really love this scheme and I would like to see more and here is my attempt at it. I didn't have many items in this scheme so I had to add some other items to flesh it out.
So, I'll have to show you my original Pumperilla avatar later, because I love rocking the Pumperilla items and had the full set pretty much as soon as the kin came out. Pumperilla getting an official scheme name, Fairytale, was interesting. On one side, I could sort of see why Fairytale was picked as a name, a holiday scheme with both pop and earthy tones, but on the other side, I was disappointed that there wasn't much of a nod to where it began.
To the topic of Pine, as brought up by Kayra. I like the fresher, brighter, more vivid green that is the 'pine green' Gaia is insisting on labeling it. But I think the tag was in poor choice! We have a pine scheme! We have a darker pine! I want to note the original pumperilla green was a little brighter, just a bit, then the newer fairytale pine, but both are pretty much the same to each other, when compared to the old pine.
Over all, RIP tags.
As for the point, I love Pumperilla, I love Fairytale, and I really didn't like orange until I saw it on Pumperilla a few years ago and realized that it was fun to wear. I didn't like pumpkin, autumn was fine but ifrit was too strong and dark. I particularly love the delicate, leafy nature of most items picked to receive the fairytale scheme! I look forward to what users do with it, since it's in TD rotation. Moreso, I look forward to Gaia hopefully giving us some more fairytale during the US Thanksgiving season, since it's a very suitable scheme for all of autumn, not just October.
It's really true, putting vivid warm colors with earthy neutral colors, produces an excellent feel. Because I have so much love of pumperilla/fairytale in the first place, my closet wasn't challenged. However...
For others, this should be an easy scheme to opt into. Butter yellow is on multiple schemes and isn't expensive. Pumpkin orange is one of those colors that had a whole year of popularity where Gaia made sure pumpkin existed every week, it felt like. The green is just a tiny bit tricky, because all greens on Gaia are underloved and inconsistent, but if anyone is having trouble matching that, I'll assist. Even the brown is pretty much just sketchbook/sketchy, which is another super popular scheme that had a solid year of being madly popular, and then exists in tons of schemes as the accenting color.
As far as schemes the Showcase has hosted, this should be a good month for everyone. It's not objectionable, not expensive if bought in separate components, and should appeal to a wide audience because of the variety it presents. You can focus hard on any given of it's four major colors to make it more to your liking.
Fairytale is one of those schemes where, while I don't collect it, I love to look at it. The colors are well matched to each other, the item choices so far are rather fitting to the color choices, and like the Kin, it's rather cute. >w< I just wish there was actually MORE of it. Granted, this is the first year of it being an actual scheme - after being revealed on this year's autumn Tie Dye list - but it seems like we had a few items of it but then nothing. I do hope that, before we move into the winter schemes, we may see more of it. Maybe on a few Halloween-based items, since the colors are definitely representative of a pumpkin.
Apatite was just the thing I was looking for. I am super happy with this. Thank you for the tips!
I try my best. Though this week is not the best week for tips, simply because while making cosmic was hard, making fairytale is super simple!

Yes hello, my name is ladykayra and I should not be allowed to imitate starry schemes. Like, ever.
I do find it interesting this week's schemes seem to have a really positive rating so far! User schemes always have a hard time but even Cosmic alone has a decent number of votes considering how limiting it can be.
Adventurous technically still doesn't have a name! The awesome user who pointed it out to me got to name it for my thread and I love conflating official/reality with placeholders. I believe the item you are thinking of is Path Of The Thieves, or at least that is what the user said they based the revamp on.
Sadly Gaia does tend to abandon Greens and Teals a lot. Hopefully this one doesn't do the same (though it's starting to feel like it)
Well not really but at some point you'll have enough items of every scheme to pretend you have every scheme!
Starry schemes are hard. Though we have so many separate sparkles these days, that it's possible to add starry textures to major areas of an avatar without cluttering other areas (ie. starry backgrounds).
I was surprised how that poll went. I still consider Oasis better than Cosmic, but like them both. Green and gold though, such a deep and long-standing weakness.
Thank you for reminding me, I consider your naming conventions for the most part canon, and will repeat that to others. How else can we talk about new concepts, but to label them precisely?
Yep, that was the item. There's some other schemes I hope the major ticket holders eventually bring back, but I've got to focus on Adoring/originalAgape myself.
I think it's just not the season for Oasis. We're moving into winter, so ponderosa/pine/merry/etc. will come back hard, while the brighter greens will fade off till spring/summer again. Unfortunately. I'm hoping for less 'red' with my green and gold though, and they just release items that are green and gold again.
As for inventory size....I'm definitely at that point. I can probably pretend to have about any scheme. Note that I never use the avatar builder to show the Showcase avatar. I just can't sell pretty items, even if I won't use them for months, or years potentially. I'm so, so bad.
