Ne, ne. I finally remembered to tell you something. Not sure it actually helps, but I've been looking for ways to help broaden the colors/items you can use, without sacrificing the look you prefer. You said you felt left out sometimes, and had trouble finding items that gave texture. Slapping jellyfrills torso pose onto some shirts can make them look more detailed.

Thank you for sharing this tip! I love learning new layering tricks. I purchased a Jellyfrills to try this, though, and wasn't able to get the Dress to stay on with any other top pose. Were you talking about a different pose?

I'm not the creator, my friend Shiro Nishida is ^_^ I'm just a hardcore supporter of it

I'm also currently saving for a stylist with a moon Harvest option and I'm part of a collab that has a Moon Harvest option that's waiting on acceptance and a Silver Scissors ticket with it too ninja

Is it the scheme you support the most? If so, why? To support it so much makes you pretty qualified to talk about it, I think.
Ah, any chance we can see the mocks? You don't have to spoil all the colors, but I'd like to see just the Moon Harvest parts, if that's possible.

I can help with part of that, since the collab she's talking about I'm also part of and I mocked it. xd
User Image
This is part of the collab; it hasn't been accepted yet, but eventually it will. >w<

And while not the hair Timid is talking about, the two of us do have our own SS in as well, and it had been discussed about potentially making Moon Harvest as part of the potential free recolor (if we sell out, of course) or in a collab again for an RT or BL:
User Image
Although however the streaks ends up being is up to Gaia. I basically only mocked it as an idea. Since our first pose will have streaks, any recolored version of it can have streaks, so it's up to Timid when that time comes to decide which version she'd want. xd

oooooooooooo both of these look really good, and with the streaks what about using sketchbook hairpins as a mod?

I am half asleep, and very sorry. Jellyfrills is good for so many things, adding texture among them, but not the item I just thought about. It layers over bikini, some bodices, and anything not in the main 'shirt/dress' slot.
The other item I was thinking of, and my apology, is the one I'm sending you now. Hold please. It has the same transparency, but it goes on more slots better. I am so embarrassed that I wrote you a half-formed thought like that, as Under Weather is the series that I needed to name in addition to jellyfrills.

I'm still not fully sure what is flat to you, but I did these examples to try and show what might be able to give you more options. In the first one, Under Weather can make short dresses and skirts have more volume and shape to them. Using darker and lighter versions of Under Weather give different effects. I chose a newer item to use as an example, since you said you didn't like newer items.
In the second example, I used Jellyfrills to show that you can make some of your own dresses with either it's top, or it's train (train not shown). I took a Marionette skirt and a Pieces of you bodice, and stuck them together, then layered them under Jellyfrills. Not the best example, but it can be made to look excellent.

In general, searching 'transparent' in the marketplace/avatar builder can be your friend. Lots of transparent items have a ton of volume/visual noise. Also evidenced by transparent items going up in price, as they are fun to use.

So I can't believe I'm going to say this, but this is one Swampberry scheme I don't like! The Potpourri pink seems...drab? I know that that's the case for Swamp- and Sweetberry, I don't know, maybe it's the grayish shading with the cooler color? This thread is teaching me so much about colors!

Our plans for the Sketchbook clips will be to remove the braid itself. Nothing will be done to remove the streaks for this hair idea, sorry. sweatdrop Although it can be recolored with or without the streaks; we'll be doing a variety of both ideas in our initial set!

If I recall, the other hair idea Timid is talking about - to which she can try and post the mocks and confirm for sure! - will have an idea for removing the streaks.

Aw, I did not mean you to feel obligated like that. redface

Thank you, though, and I will definitely play with this. I can tell it is on a higher layer, so it can add some detailing to simple tops. emotion_yatta

It was kind of you to think of me.

Tried to make a potpourri avatar in builder, lol. I don't know how it went. I don't feel like I added enough of the pink?, but I like the light green and light gold together.

It's alright. I didn't realize how expensive some of those items had gotten recently. They used to be very obtainable/cheap. Jellyfrills is still -excellent- to add texture, but I can see why I confused you with shirts-jellyfrills, as it's bodice/skirt/jellyfrills and shirt/underweather. There are a few other items that are useful with transparency and placement, but they are all recent/expensive, to a painful degree.

Please look at the edits of my previous post, as it's the best way I could explain some of what I'm talking about. I heavily edited it as I was scrambling to fix this error.

You're very vocal about your passions and preferences. We have different standpoints, but there are ways to meet in the middle and for you to be happy, despite Gaia not making the kind of item you prefer. We should all be able to wear what we want, and not be excluded. Poor males, their plight is harder to solve.

Ahh.
The streaks do look good but some might just want it solid, so guess recolors then.
Thought it might be like this hair which reacts like that with sketchbook, and use agape for the ponytail/ butterfly. I have fun, sometimes, with hair cutters. (Learned about the sketchbook one recently) lol.

Y’all need to stop worrying about the swampberry scheme! Feel free to rip it right out of your avatars if you don’t like it! The theme is less a scheme and more the pinks

I love yalltthough and am happy to see so much enjoyment talking about this week and last weeks schemes

These pinks are hard, yo. Transparency on dusk rose/dust rose isn't quite right, old!peony isn't quite right, original rose isn't quite right. Gosh dangit. It's an awkward puzzle. *grump* I'll try more pinks with no green to follow up this one, since you pose the challenge. But really...
I need more green in my life. Just not toxic. Halloween coming up is going to mean toxic season again (unless you visit the CB, where every season is 'toxic').

I think this is one of those weeks where if ebery avatar ended up being made in Avi Builder it would be completely reasonable

I'm not letting this week stop me just yet.

Attempt at potpourri, take two. I'm using some gold this time, just try and stop me. I also discovered I'm missing one Bea, specifically the one I need right now:
User Image
But I will proceed with peony while awaiting the lone seller's reply.

How I feel about potpourri still? Still a bit meh. It might be a little better this way, but then I might as well use the more vibrant dusk rose. I still need to work in a ponytail of some kind I think, and I think maybe...radiant gold? I can't quite figure out how to make the chiffon yellow translate to a gold under the veil. Still working on it. For the most part, I've eliminated the vast majority of stray 'rose' spots, with a couple of edge cases, literally.

Unfortunately not a Bea I own or I'd send it your way!

I'm thinking this color probably has to be on more items and has to get it's own legs before it looks like just a weirder Dusk Rose. The user scheme one might be the right direction but with only hairs it is kinda hard to tell. Honestly if you hadn't told me that was Chiffon I wouldn't have known so I think you're okay there!

ElegantlyLuminous

Thank you for the Peony tip! It works a touch better compared to Dusk Rose. I may have had too much fun with the mule while trying it out

GreenInkling

I think I see what you mean. Potpourri seems to have less highlights than Sweetberry for one, or maybe less drastic ones. But also the fact that Potpourri is shaded with an almost purple/blue grey everywhere vs Sweetberry having only it's dark edges being the grey, it seems to make Potpourri, flatter. Though any shading tutorial would tell you it should have looked better. My guess would be that Potpourri would look better on the older Gaia items with more varied shading to the current cell shaded style. Though that could just be me

I would have appreciated the borrow and sent it back shortly, but today is just not the day for anyone having this random usermade Bea. I really had thought I had them all.
It's also another gold, especially with a transparency effect, but the name is escaping me. Not vintage, st.ciel, antique. I really need to get a good list for myself going of the different official types of gold, for recoloring purposes.
The peony tip was a lifesaver on the last avatar. I'm grateful for Ele's work.
Thank you for summarizing the difference between sweetberry and potpourri; you make it easier to see these differences by describing them.
