I just flat out don't like cerise. Which puts me in a pickle because all of these schemes contain it. I certainly don't like it with variations of black and purple. Too much!

Here is my attempt! First week of school so I was pretty busy lesson planning and stuff but anywho, here it is. I mixed and matched a little bit of the three smile

I decided to make a second avatar with the two color schemes. I don't have a lot of items for this, but I have enough smile

I'm tackling Andromeda first. Remember how I said I had a critical weakness for vintage gold?
It hasn't gone away. I still have a deep, serious weakness for vintage gold. I like it with just about anything, making Andromeda my favorite scheme by default. Of the three schemes this week, it's the easiest to match with the current ram horns on Gaia, because of the addition of it's darker, basic palette. It's unfortunate the bulk of the items for this scheme are from a single tier, but it least that makes them -available-, which can't be said for every scheme this showcase graces.
As for the common pink and purple parts...I really like it's deep purple hues, even if I'm not the greatest fan of purple with how prevalent it's been recently. The cerise pink isn't incredibly appealing to me, though I'd probably change my tune if the right items were released for it. The items for the user tier were lovely, at least.

I'm going to try Oriana next, and find if 'painted' works for me. It lacks the most redeeming characteristics of Andromeda, the gold, peach, and offblack. At least it has ivory, so I might go ivory heavy if possible.

Aquatic Abomination

Setting aside the pink thing, I'm okay with all of these schemes. They're nice. I just don't love them. (To be honest, I'm getting a little tired of gradient schemes with a starry overlay. They're fun... but they're starting to feel a tad overdone. Like anubis. Just way too prevalent.)

I think I like nova the best of the three. That navy bluish-purple that shades into the true purple is a lovely color that I'd like to see more of. Plus, the white. The white is a nice touch. For me, at least, it helps the starry gradient thing from being too overwhelming. Because more sparkle isn't always better.

Andromeda is a close second because, well, antique gold. I'm addicted. You'd think I'd have the same problem with antique gold as I do with anubis but nope. I love it. It'd be nice to see some more silvers, of course, but nothing will stop me from loving antique gold. I don't see the actual mira peach in any of the items (but I need new glasses so, definitely not Gaia's fault). Still, the block in the info post is nice. I think midday might make a nice replacement or counterpart.

Maybe it's just because of the cerise, but I think thumbelina would be a good addition to any of these schemes. The blues play off the pinks and purples nicely, at least.

All in all, eh. Still want more of it and especially more for males and paws... because variety is good... but I'm not personally a huge fan of any of these schemes.

Mildly unrelated, but I'm adoring your dedication to the ram horns. emotion_yatta It's fun to see how you apply them to each scheme.

I...have mixed feelings on your statements of gradient and starry. I want to see less -bright- schemes with starry and gradients, but more dark schemes. Comet, Galaxy (even if the two have merged), and other of the original 'lightly starred' schemes, I love those. The recent trend of sparkly plus pink or purple is what's bothering me a little. But surely we'll swing back around to cool-toned colors eventually.
I also can't agree with anubis. In two seasons, we won't see any of it at all, unless it's from users, and I will miss it very much. I do like jay-blue in my life. There are plenty of ways to 'fix' anubis if it's too overbearing.

We were just talking about this! The need for more silvers! I think as schemes like concrete get more popular, we'll see a return to the silvers of old. Like today for instance, verdigris and not gold, but silver instead in a direct CSU release. That hasn't happened in a long while.

Totally related. Thank you very much. <3 Ram horns are what I hardcore collect and wear on this site, and rare is the day I am not wearing a pair (also a shortlived day). There are still some schemes that are extremely hard for me to work with, due to available horns, but that won't stop me. The horns of Spring Aries are right now my best workaround, because it's often possible to cover part of their gradient (thank goodness for so many head-item-slots) and trick the eye into thinking that it's just one color, instead of the other.

Right now, I'm completely distracted by...those hips. That's impressive. I also didn't know that sword existed, and must get one. You did a good job, it's a very attractive avatar, even if not part of this particular showcase.

Yeah, mixed feelings is a good way to describe it.

I guess my problem is less with the colors and gradients themselves (because both/all are fine) and more with Gaia's release methods. Like, they'll latch onto 1-3 colors and release most recolors in those particular schemes, with little variation for a while. It gets to be too much, too quickly. Like eating a lot of candy in a very small period of time. You get a stomachache. It can be like that with Gaia's color releases. For me, at least. This showcase offers a lot of forgotten and abandoned options. It feels like they could mix it up a bit more. Still releasing these popular schemes, of course. (Just because I don't love them doesn't mean we shouldn't have them). But also showing some love for other schemes, too.

If that makes sense. I shouldn't complain because, hey, new items. It just bugs me all the same. Of course, I could be seeing things weirdly because I tend to update my guides (and look at all the CSU threads) every couple of days and thus see everything in one big blur, so... it might just be me being quirky.

And thanks! I saw the hips in one of the thick thighs guides and had to use them. They're just delightfully sassy. One of these days I'll actually have to match up with the scheme, though.

*nervous laughter* To be entirely honest the block is a bit off. It’s my block for normal peach from when the scheme only had hairs. It seems like the scheme changed a bit and the peach is a bit pinker than that now. It’s mostly found at the very tips of the gradient. I forget which item but one of the really detailed ones appears to have the peach by itself on a star somewhere. I’ll see if I can find it again before heading out

Edit: The Andromeda Doll’s headband pose has it by itself. It’s the star on the right most side of the four flat colored stars (if viewed from the mp)

If there are any last minute comments, avatars, or votes for these schemes get them in now. I will be changing out for this week’s scheme in about 3-4 hours. It’s a little later in the day to make up for the current schemes going up last tuesday instead of monday

Benevolent Feeder

I like these schemes. There are so many different names, when they all look so similar. I had honestly thought painted was one of their names, but they do tend to pair words with schemes sometimes, so it's easy to get mixed up.
But yeah, overall I dig it.

Sweetest Dabbler

New schemes are up!

I'm pretty sure we haven't done Moon Harvest before

Jaded Archivist

I’m pretty much the opposite of the mule. I have tons of Saturn but had to buy some Creamsicle to dress up.

I’m not a big fan of orange colors but Creamsicle is usually paired with decent other colors. I think I prefer the grey of Moon Harvest to the Saturn and OffBlack in Witchly

I don’t know who keeps getting us on the bulletin board but thank you! It’s nice to feel relevant

Timid Gaian

First of all, I wanna say I LOVE both schemes!!
Well, I love Moon Harvest even more, but still!! Two super lovely schemes!
Here are some avis for both!

Your avatars made me realize that Ash grey works pretty well with the somewhat lighter Harvest Moon grey! I’ve even added it as a tip

Thanks for sharing so many nice avis!
