While neptune is a very pretty scheme, goshiki just uses that teal so much better. Illustrious Kaguyahime was the item that really won me over with this scheme. Such bright, bold colors used to work so well together.

Here is my first attempt at a Neptune + Poppy (Goshiki?) look.

This hat gets clipped weird or removed entirely by tons of backgrounds, so I'm not that pleased with the final effect. sweatdrop Oh well.

Have you tried posting about it to the artists in the item bug thread? Usually they can fix hairs that do that. ^_^

I love all of the variety neptune comes in (though there isn't a variety in my avvies).

I broke from the established color placement... because I'm a rebel that way. Actually, I like it better this way, with the three colors rather than the original two. Don't know why. But I did it anyway. Black made it a little too Anubis-esque, so I went with a basic white instead.

And now I'm tempted to do a Wyso Cereus in Joker colors. Somebody stop me.

I've never been attracted to Neptune, but Goshiki on the other hand quickly grew on me. Perhaps it was partly because of Sunset Aquascaping? I waited for that Lucky Catch update and pretty much attacked the daily update thread to see what shiny new things we got for the month, and the Aquascaping's instantly appealed with the transparency poses and tail. Though now that the excitement over new items settled, I can see many more aspects about Goshiki that I prefer over Neptune.

I'm not fond of dressing my avatars in too strong colors, but it's fine for details, which is exactly how it's used in Goshiki. Neptune is an older scheme, so there's some variety between the items, but I definitely prefer when it's combined with brown/offblack over gold. The teal and gold together makes me think of colorful parrots. I don't mind seeing colors like that, but less interested in wearing it. Neptune teal with brown is however very much like other existing combinations, the gold makes it less forgettable as a scheme.

While Neptune can be a little tricky because the items have less consistency due to being older, Goshiki is the exact opposite. I had two Goshiki items to work with and neither has any proper male poses. With most color schemes, I wouldn't have been able to pull off an avatar, but Goshiki can essentially be made from Poppy and Neptune. It's brilliant, anyone can wear Goshiki with some creativity, without actually using Goshiki items. I hope gaia does this with more color schemes, it will really help with the lack of making items with actual pants in some color schemes. That is a growing concern for me, most new color schemes don't have any male items, besides maybe a hair item or two.

The downside with Goshiki is that it can be summed up in 'nautical + anime'. There's nothing stepping outside of these boundaries, even the latest Goshiki item in Narwheel follows that rule.
(It's this one in case OP wants to add it to the list - User Image)
Neptune is at least a color scheme with great item variation, making so many more themes available. Can be tricky to combine some of the items, but sometimes a solid theme beats perfect color coordination.

Adding my avatar in post in case I change it again. I decided to go for Goshiki, heavy on the poppy and white. As always, I need dragon recolors. I tried to work in a Draconis Lucem, but alas, the yellow stood out too much. That dragon would be perfect in Goshiki though, makes my brain twitch in the direction of tie-dye tickets. I never hated Neptune, but I've never gone out of my way to collect it. For a lot of items, it almost seemed like too much teal (a crazy thought, I know), so it kind of turned me off of it.

That's exactly how I feel about it. There's a lot of items that I like that happens to be Neptune, but I can't think of a time I though that much teal was a good idea... Actually, that's a lie, I thought it was fine on Porpoiseful Swimmer and Daylight Siren. Could be because the mermaid theme led to leaving a lot of skin, which lessened the overall use of vibrant colors. exclaim
The Kaguyahime item made me love goshiki. It was so pretty heart

For me it was Sunset Aquascaping, saw that water and had to have it, without knowing what to use it for. Illustrious Kaguyahime is very attractive though, enough for me to go out of my way to figure out how to 'man' it up for an avatar. whee
The new Relaxed Trickster actually has pants, but it's a sitting pose, I'm always bad at using them. Even if I feel like Illustrious Kaguyahime is a bit more feminine than I prefer for my avatars, it's beautiful enough to want. Relaxed Trickster on the other hand did exactly what I never liked about Neptune - too much teal. I think those are the first actual pants in Goshiki and they're terrible. I don't like sitting poses to begin with, but large portions of teal even less. I'd rather wear a skirt...

I was wearing goshiki for a handful of months before goshiki actually came out. The combination of poppy and neptune just pops nicely, vibrant and light. When goshiki came out? I practically exploded. I don't have very many bright color schemes I like, as there is such a thing as too bright, but goshiki really nailed what I had been needing in items. It's unfortunate that there aren't many goshiki items yet (though I love that so many are graceful/Asian themed!)...

But combining neptune (without the black) and poppy will never get old for me. There's just so much to work with! As for neptune, I don't really appreciate it as much as goshiki, or I actively try to cover up or remove the black in whatever way possible. I think it offsets the gold and the nearly searing teal in just the wrong way. Out of any color scheme, I probably have the most goshiki avatar.

Goshiki being on the Summer Tye-Dye rotation is a blessing. In two and a half months, we're going to have an explosion of goshiki items. Even if they are usermades, usermades eventually drop, and it will be glorious. It would be great if we saw goshiki every week until then, and the last few weeks have been pretty good for us.

Favorite goshiki item is probably Sunset Aquascaping, or Kaguyahime. Leaning more towards the Aquascaping. Even with all of the neptune-poppy accessories they just dumped on us for our goshiki pleasure, I love little details so much more than massive color blocks.

forgot to drop this avvie. I remember back when we were fawning over the poppy scheme, there were people who wanted more poppy colored hair, because in poppy items, the hair color was almost exclusively dahlia. Now looking at the new goshiki items, the poppy hair color is a bit overwhelming to me. It's a nice change of pace, but i don't think i would want to wear it all the time.

I think Neptune and Goshiki are lovely ranges, but I don't really have a lot of either schemes. I can see them working with the other teals and golds we have though.

Yeah, I don't actually have any actual Goshiki, but when I was playing around with my avatar, I felt like the scheme was pretty forgiving with close colors (at least in the blue range, since that's where I deviated most).
Like, I was pretty happy with how the deeper blue looked as the background.

Here is my attempt. I didn't really have any poppy items, but attempted anyways.

I would love to see more and more of poppy, and hopefully become more affordable.
