Time for another little dump, this time the theme is that these were all inspired by the style of octoepuss! Click to favorite.
I made this in February, which is when some big changes happened at my work, so I think things just got a bit lost in the shuffle and I didn't get to posting her. I was trying to add sage/green to bearly (rust, cream and this warm brown) and I do like how the colors worked out.
I was trying to combine nori and withered. I started with the arm pose and really tried to get a tattered look with the dress/skirt. I made this back in March and kept tweaking it, but wasn't happy with it. I'm still not happy with it tbh.
This was one of my cracks at trying to use the new autumnal scheme. I really like how it looks, but find it a little hard to work with so far. I have 3 in progress avis trying to use it, this one is the most complete.
I actually made this one fairly recently, I wanted to use the Gone Foragin' mushroom accessory. This one came together pretty quickly.
I'm going to cry, all of these are SO perfect, are you kidding me???crying
Your avis always inspire me so much You have such a distinct style and every one of your avis is a masterpiece!

That's so sweet, I always kinda thought my stuff was really chaotic and not really any thought to it, but it's so sweet for you to say that. crying
You on the other hand have the BEST content, hands down. I am honestly blown away every time at even the simplier ones you throw together.

If your avis are chaotic, I feel like it's an artful chaos that always looks complete and balanced. Like a wildflower arrangement.
That means the world to me, thank you! I waffle over my avis a lot before I post them, especially the simpler ones.
Time to dump the excessive amount of Christmas avis I've made. There might be more to come, I'm on a roll with these like I was with witches back in October. Click to favorite.
The first one I made, started with the storybook pose. Not sure how I feel about it now, there are things I like and things I don't.
This one was inspired by the gift pose, and then I really liked this sweater and arms combo. I wanted to have some cute pets, but this kitty was the only one I could find in my invo that fit among the presents in an okay way.
This one was me trying to make a Christmas avi with the morikuma coat.
For these, I was trying to make a greeting card looking avi and I couldn't decide what looked better. None of these really worked how I envisioned.
For this one, I wanted to try to use the swampberry + carnage Christmas combo that they were using a lot on items last year. I wanted to use a background cutter, but they didn't play well with the sweet dog so I ended up with this frame instead. I think it looks alright, better than the cutter versions I had tried.
This one was inspired by my appreciation for the country mouse sweaters. They look so warm and cozy.
Really wanted to use these snowmen. Hopefully mixing melon and carnage red looks okay. The hair was a bit of an accident when I was trying to find the right scarf (it's attached to the hair), but I ended up wanting to keep the hair even though I probably should have gone with a different scarf.
I tried to make a couple of more elegant looking festive avis, and this one is my favorite that I finished.
Random little fantasy avi dump before the new year. Click to favorite.
I just made this one when the user bundle came out. I really like the Parched scheme, but I like most schemes that have browns in them.
Managed to complete another chai/autumnal avi. I think tawny actually looks pretty nice with this scheme.
This one started with the arm pose. I made two versions of the face. I was going for the idea that this winter spirit was humanoid, but definitely not a human.
A slightly eerie bride. Again, started with the arm pose. I had been wanting Flora's Last Waltz for a while, so this was me celebrating finally picking it up.
I had debated whether this counted as a Christmas avi or not. I tried a few times to make a Holiday avi using burgundy/vintage but this one skewed more towards the Decay scheme.
Posting this fella just so he doesn't get forgotten completely. I made him like way back in the summer?
I still have more avis from this year that I haven't posted, mostly because I thought they were too simple. I will sit on them a bit longer.
Happy New Year! I put this avi together when the arm pose came out, and I thought it would make for a great New Year avi with the hour glass. I added the animated sparkles when they came out.
I haven't made any new avis since the year started, but I still have some that I haven't posted. Here's one. Click to favorite.
Here's my weirdo earth avi. This was inspired by wanting to make an avi where the head was like floating over the open neck of the coat and being really excited that the flowers from Flower Affliction layered over Materra's head.
I've been reading a lot of historical fiction lately, and that inspired this working lady. I most recently read The Siren of Sussex by Mimi Matthews, which was fantastic.
Lately I've been making fairy tale type avis, I think because I read Half a Soul which has a fairy tale sort of vibe. Click to favorite.
Just a little lass heading off into the woods with her cat companion. She needs to get some supplies for her cozy cottage. I had wanted to find a softer background that didn't contrast as much with the rest of the avi colors, but this was exactly the type of setting I wanted so I stuck with it.
Here's a take on Snow White, but very pastel. Originally this started with me trying to make an avi with the Nocturne scheme, but I ended up incorporating more sweetberry and fog, so it's closer to Silken now.
Wanted to make a male fairy tale character as well, but I had split ideas so I ended up with two somewhat similar ones. I was very determined to use this hair, but found it hard to find clothes that played well with the longer length.
This one spun off from the previous one because I liked this coat, but it looked weird with that hair.
Edit: Fun fact! This is the 1000th post in this thread apparently?
Got a couple monochrome ladies today. Click to favorite.
I actually swapped the legs on these two outfits. This one originally had the boots and the boots were my inspo for making it, but I thought they made more sense on the next avi and I thought the ones I had used there from the new Angel item looked good on this one as well. The layering is a bit fiddly, the Carousel skirt likes to drop down below the Severed Bloom dress. I added the mirror last, I wish the frame came in ivory or offblack, but this was the best color I could find.
Another one that started with the leg pose, this time from the new Angel item. I ended up swapping the legs like I mentioned. My original idea was that I wanted to try using the newish Shrouded scheme with slate gray, but ended up mostly using offchrome and heirloom in the end. I had trouble finding a hat that gave quite what I was looking for to compliment the cape, but interacted with the hair okay and didn't introduce any colors I didn't want. She's definitely some kind of automaton and that clock is part of her body. I threw the moon bit on last, I don't love how it looks on a background that isn't white, but I liked how it layered with the black halo thing.
it's been so long since I put anything in my closet, I forgot how. can someone tell me how to put my current costume into my closet? thank you.
Go to "My Gaia" > Avatar > "Outfits" button towards the bottom of the inventory display > Save the outfit to a slot. There are a limited number of slots by default, but you can buy more from there.
