brixius v2
Well I already watched the first two and my honest opinion is that it starts out kind of slow and not as spectacular as I thought an opening to this would be.

But at the same time I understand because they're just trying to get all the main characters in, and letting the fans get used to the idea of a new avatar. But I assume that you haven't watched the first two episodes yet so you can't really judge the entire season based on what you saw in a little clip. Even if you did see the first two episodes, you can't judge the rest of the season just like that.

Personally, I liked the first two episodes. They could've been better, but I liked it and I know it'll pick up more steam in the 3rd episode.

I didn't watch the second episode.

I couldn't even stomach finishing the first one.

I thought it got better in the second one primarily because they introduced more main characters into the show. And I'm not going to go into every detail but I saw it can only get better from there.

As for you, all I can say to make you like the spin off more is to just chill and not be so critical and enjoy it without picking out every little detail. I'm sure the show will answer your questions as the plot continues on
I'm thinking I will watch it, but I don't expect that it's going to get any better.

Not with that kind of a kick-off.

Watching a clip of the Mako & Bolin scene at the Pro-Bending tournament arena, I was like, "Ugh. . .another OMG!-It's-the-Avatar-in-the-Flesh scene? They don't think that's getting a little old by now?"

So far I've liked what I've seen. You just have to look at it as a completely different story and not a continuation because that's what it is.
Different story + same universe = same universe rules.

Same universe rules =/= Avatar not needing to learn the bending disciplines all over again.

You don't have to show her learning them. Like I said, you could show her as a child not knowing all of this stuff, and then flash forward to when she's older and she does.

there was no flying bison herd because aang had the only one, when he got frozen it was with him. in 100 years i guess they all died.
After Season 3 ended, Aang discovered a herd of them. That's where Tenzin's bison comes from.

They had to have a way to know that she was the Avatar and it wasn't like she was a master at it as a child. It took her until she was 16 years old to master the first three elements (since the first episode starts with her passing her fire bending mastery test)

They never talk about how children develop their first bending powers, perhaps because Korra is better at the physical side of things she was able to pick up the basics much easier as a child then Aang could (who was better at the spiritual side of bending.)
Korra isn't a Mary Sue.

Timid Prophet

Here's my theory on why she would learn so soon. The last time the avatar was gone for so long, war happened, so there was probably a slight panic when Aang died. They probably spread out methods of discovering the avatar at a young age (like they did with aang) and then brought in trainers to teach her. Katara has already trained an avatar so she would also have helpful hints on this.

I loved the first two episodes of Legends Of Korra and yes it does sound strange that Aang found new species of bison and lemur, but then again doesn't life always find a way? And when it comes to Korra I love how different she is from Aang, and we all know that the Avatar is never invincible including Korra... I mean if she was then how come she was caught by the metal benders and unable to get away? Avatars aren't Gods, they are just as mortal as any another person

Also I think Aang was the one to master the four elements quicker even though Korra had been trained since she was little, and the whole Fire/Earth/Water bending while she is like five I don't think is weird... I'm pretty sure there have been both slow and fast learners before her when it comes to bending the different elements. Also it seems as though Korra has yet to enter into the Avatar state while the previous Avatar could do it at age 12. So my whole point here is that all of the Avatars are different in their own way, I'm pretty sure there have been those before her who have either learned quicker than her or slower.

And please don't condemn The Legends Of Korra just because you weren't happy about a few things, who knows maybe you might fall in love with it as the season goes on.

Only two episodes in and I already like it more than The Last Airbender.

No Aang = win
Firebenders weren't making war anymore and the Avatar didn't run away this time. So she probably had trainers come in when she was little. That doesn't mean she was perfect, and they showed her trainers as she got older.

As for Sokka, Katara mentioned her brother and her all her friends were gone. Doesn't necessarily mean they are dead. They could be, but gone and dead could mean two different things.

You get to see Tophs daughter, or was it granddaughter? Which was cool. It is only in the first two episodes. It may improve soon. I'm not too sure what I think about it yet since it just started. I guess I'll see how I feel about it soon.

Yes, why no mention of Sokka? We know that Aang's dead, and Katara's alive. What about him?

And I don't think they mentioned what Toph is up to (or not) either.

He's dead Katara said so herself.
