Because thy are them and you are you.

They didn't take anything from you they did things.

I would be happy for them.

Knowing how much work I had to put into it it would be great if other people didn't have to. O_o

If you're doing it for "glory" you're going for the wrong reason in the first place.

You should do it for yourself, not for what other people think.

Wasn't me specifically, just an example. I respect your difference, but I can't stand someone working so hard for something to have someone, who hasn't tried, to take it all away. The reward, per say, for the work. I'm not saying I don't respect equals, ones who have worked as hard as you have, but when they just take all your work away from you...it's frustrating.

They don't take anything away from you. neutral

They just get things themselves.

I'm sorry that's ludicrous.

Nothing they do just by being good effects you.

In a sense, they do take something from you. They take pride from you. Pride as in thinking you were really good until this extremely talented person comes and outshines you in all your hard work.

I know everyone's different. But there are two sides to this. The side I'm on is the one I've experienced.

Pride? No, YOU got upset at them being good.

If you were on a deserted Island, or they were, it would have no effect on you. That's becuase it has no real effect on you.

They take NOTHING from you.

That is downright insane, someone being better than you at someone is just them being better than you, being upset becuase someone else is good is downright insane.

Considering how competative I am, at every single thing, I view everything like a contest. I can see where you're coming from, however. Correct, they don't take anything from you. But you still feel defeated when someone who hasn't worked as hard as you excels where you fall short.

WHO CARES?

Why would you want them to be worse?

Wouldn't you want YOU to be better so you can beat them?

I mean that's just ridiculous.

You might as well say you want to win be cheating.

That's not even really winning, clearly you were the inferior player.

Not to mention that the advantage benders have can't really be compensated for with hard work.

Hard work, and study.

Advantage benders will still be better.

It will be easier.

That doesn't mean that they will necessarily be better.

And what does it matter?

If you're good why bother- being able to flames out of your hands and light fires and cook food would be awesome even if you were only okay at it- or to be able to fly like ang or even Azula.

My apologies, I take everything generally and in themes. I do agree, but advantage benders typically would have the upper hand.

Yeah, but I still think it would be awesome.

To be honest I don't really care if I was as good as ang or Korra- just being able to fly or shoot fire out of my hands would be awesome. ._.

Did I ever say I wanted them to be worse? No. You would want you to be better, but you still resent them. It actually's almost a good thing, since it can fuel you, but you WANT to beat them. You work hard to beat them. And their talent outmatches your hard work.

Ah heck, we have completely different personalities and this is just going to go back and forth all night. I see your point, I hope you see mine, I'm done replying.

Aged Phantom

I can honestly see this season ending with Korra losing all her bending, then going on an epic quest to regain her powers (Maybe through the original animal teachers) and stopping the Big Bad.

Lover

I don't think the equalists are evil. But I don't agree with them.

What I understand from a non-bender's point of view is that oppression, extortion, and maybe even jealousy may be involved when benders are in the equation. I feel like I love the moral ambiguity but I can honestly say that in this case, I feel as if the Equalists are just... Wrong.

The secret weapon of the equalists that they use to terrorize the benders is basically Amon's skill to take bending away. Though I know he has rather justified reasons (provided they are true of course... But we don't know that yet wink ) I think it's a horrible thing to take away someone's bending if they're born with it. I mean, it's like taking away a singer's voice, or a painter's hands, or some other crucial parallel that we can draw from real life. It feels like violation--even when Aang did it to Ozai I felt like it was a fate almost worse than death since firebending was obviously an essential part of him. Almost like amputating a perfectly healthy limb. Plus that episode when Amon was taking the bending away from those thugs, I could only really remember thinking desperately, "Mako, Korra, for the love of God, HURRY UP, Bolin is facing some SERIOUS PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW."

I wouldn't want to be a bender living in the Korra times. Too scary. Even though the struggle is human there is something deliciously frightening and wrong about Amon's tactics to bring about his "equality".

Korra first of all wants to go brute-force on Amon and after mastering the 4 elements and being able to enter the Avatar State(though being far away from ever controlling it), she goes to kill him. Old Zuko, doing what he's best at(Dun dun DUNN!): Capturing the avatar, or his firelord daughter(Hey, it MUST run in the family if Azula was so good at it!) kidnaps her the night before, and reminds her how her past life dealt with Ozai. She then goes to her very first spiritual journey and talks with her 4 past lives, and finally decides to talk to the Equalists, realizing they are trying to fix a serious problem with all the wrong, destructive means. She brings harmony to the world, where non-benders no longer suffer discrimination.

I feel like such a ******** fanfic wirter.

I don't believe she will beat Amon in the first series.

He will probs, or at least the equalist movement, will persist.

First,ur avi is awesome.
second,this is true.
They can't just introduce a huge enemy in the beginning and get rid of him in the first season.
That'd be like killing off Zuko in season one!!!
