Currently flairs are animated GIFs and we don't have non-animated version of them. That might not be something we can easily do without creating non-animated versions of all the items we had.

when literally every animated flair DOES have a static version as an optional pose.
so you wouldnt have to go back and make a static anything, because you already have it???

Sorry I stand corrected.  Let me look at how the data is organized and we should be able to have a feature to call the static versions.

When are the animals going to be removed? It’s possibly the worst feature on Gaia. I feel like I’m losing out on great items for my avatar instead it goes to an animal.

Yes! It’s been so long and not good it is the paw base. Feels like a complete waste of chance/evolve items.

I've felt the same way, but I have a friend who cherishes it.

I’m sure they are virtually happy to do the furry thing on such a small scale and I’m glad but it’s a waste of Gaia coin/cash to spend on(which I haven’t) but I hope they get rid of it. Make a poll or some like the sims do when they’re brainstorming new packs and ask their community!

I respectfully disagree. I gladly spent 1350 GC last week on the Paw items we got in celebration of the Pawniversary, and if I could've, I would've spent another 2300 more on the bundle that was released as well. And all of that for a base that I use on a mule and that I only change the avi on about once a week. The Paw base, while tiny and not as profitable as the human base, is still a fun and creative base and it doesn't deserve to be removed. In fact, it actually needs MORE love, as there's so much that I know Paw users would love to be able to do but can't because the items simply don't exist. Facial mods, trunked accessories, backgrounds... I think Gaia could actually do more for the base, and when/if they ever do, it may make fans of the base more likely to spend the funds on it.

There's very little upside in getting rid of the base just because some folks don't like getting Paw things. Which I get if you don't like it. But you can sell the items, donate them, trash them, whatever. But to get rid of the base would just be cruel to those that love the base, but also cruel to the artists that did put work into items for the base to have it go "Nope, going in the trash now".

asking again on behalf of a friend but is the What items would you like to see re-released? form in site feedback still in use? it seems to be quite neglected.

It is absolutely still in use! Just about every rerelease bundle and item gen references the items requested there.

how are these items selected, e.g., are they based off the number of unique requests?

An item only needs to be requested once; having multiple requests doesn't matter!
When making a bundle, we'll either have a theme in mind ahead of time and choose items from the requests that fit or we will choose items from the requests first and build a theme around them.
For item generators, we just have to make sure the items are an appropriate value for the price point of the generator.

There are, however, a lot of requests on the list that unfortunately can not be rereleased sweatdrop
