Would you believe that's a cell phone picture? Maybe I'm out of touch with technology due to my lack of intarnetz, but I couldn't believe the quality when I saw it~ heart heart exclaim exclaim

Yeah, I see the German Shepard in him.

What kind of dog is Clyde?
He's a german shorthair pointer. Fullbred, wandered onto my lawn and fell in love with me. Someone lost a VERY good and VERY expensive dog. Very well trained, house broken when I got him! =D

Do you think he was abandoned?

My boyfriend's niece has a dog like that.
He very well may have been! My Dad thinks so, says that some people get tired of the food bills and vet costs and abandon their pets. Growing up on my parents' property, we had so many stray pups and dogs end up on our lawn... Because they have 3 acres and people automatically assume, "Hey, they have a farm, they'll take care of the dog."

...which I guess is true, 'cos we never turned away a stray. xD

He was very emaciated, ribs showing BAD, and he had some bruises that stuck out, which makes me think he may have been treated badly.

Scout, though, was a sand pit dog. My Mom and Dad are both 18 wheeler drivers, and Scout was so friendly to the guys there... She was just looking for a family, ya know? She would wait sadly under their trucks when they left for the night, and would be so excited when they returned the next morning. But she's so young, the pit bosses were afraid she'd get killed. So I came, scooped her into my car, and she's become a part of the family. biggrin

Unfortunately, for my cats, she loves chasing them... She just wants to play all the time, and doesn't understand that kitties don't play rough. Which leads to a lot of "SCOUT! STOP IT!" I actually had to block off part of the house, just for my cats, because I was afraid they'd become stressed out. They already peed my bed, when Scout came in and scared them. D:

But... my two dogs, they're so fun to watch, I had to buy them two different toys. Clyde has a little plush doll while Scout loves bone-shaped ropes. They play tug of war, but Scout only wants toys when Clyde has them. And Clyde is a food hog, so my poor girl Scout has to come to me and tattle on him. xD
A lot of people give me weird looks and don't think I'm being fair, to just keep the dogs. But I guess that's how I grew up. Dogs came and dogs went, and we loved them all dearly. So whenever a new stray turned up, we never put up "Found" signs or anything. That was just life on the farm.

However, if I ever saw a "Lost Dog" sign and it matched Clyde's description, I'd feel really terrible... But we put $160 into him on a vet bill (I was worried he got hit by a car, from his bruising! And he wasn't pooping, but it turned out he just hadn't eaten in a long time), and my Husband's policy is, "If they want to pay me back, plus interested, they can try to offer.

I'm not surprised Clyde is a food hog.

I agree that he was probably abandoned.
I also have a lot of faith in humanity, I guess. I always assume that all the dogs we had, that ran away, found other families, and bounced from family to family, spreading love and joy to many. So I was never very sad when a dog ran away. Just like we accepted the strays, I know there are other people just like us.

Clyde has gotten SO much better, in the time that we've had him. He used to cower when we'd reach to pet him, but now he likes to lean his body against your legs if you're standing or sitting. I think that's how he "hugs" people. whee

If he would stop chasing those bumblebees, I think he'd get tubby. But his breed has a high metabolism and he LOVES to run when he gets outside. When I bring him inside, he calms down quickly and lays down on his pillow with his toys. Scout, however... is still a puppy, and nothing calms her down. xD

^_^ That's so cute.

I love dog "hugs"
When I first saw him on the property, I thought Wayne had messed up a towel and splattered it with dirt and left it in some tall grass. Then I could see that he was definitely a he, and knew it was a dog, and then I proceeded to spazz. I thought he had been hit by a car and had crawled onto our lawn and passed on.

But he jumped up quickly and ran over, nubby little tail wagging. Then proceeded to chase bumblebees for (I SWEAR I'm not exaggerating) 5 1/2 hours. By that time, it was dark and I was ready to go in (mosquitoes love my taste?). He laid on the porch all night, until my Husband got home from the night shift. By that time, I knew he was ours. We brought him in, introduced him to the cats, and he slept on our couch. ^^
Oh, here's a fun bit of information... A long, long time ago, way far back in a time we called 2002... Frills made a website. Not, I won't be giving out the address to said website... But just mentioning it will cause her to spazz. whee

MUAHAHA, I love blackmail... ^^

Maybe I should auction off the pictures... twisted

Yeah, he was definitely yours.

XD What are you going to black mail her into doing? Coming onto Gaia more often?
That's a good idea! Or actually ANSWERING her CELLPHONE. Why paid lots of money every month for a device, just so you can NOT use said device? I'd rather not answer the phone and not get charged for it~~~

Maybe I'll blackmail her into giving me something nice, or a nice amount of hush money... Heeeee!!! I'm so mean~ xd

XD Yeah, that's a good idea too.

Get her to uh...send you a picture of her daughter.
