I slept for twelve hours last night... woke up at 6am... I just couldn't stay awake yesterday. It was insane. Now I'm awake and bored, and I don't have anything to do today. I'm thinking I'll call a friend of mine and see if he wants to go and explore some abandoned buildings.
I do that periodically. I have a duffle bag next to my front door with everything I need for the endeavor. I've been wanting to for a few weeks now, but it's not something you should do alone, and everyone has been so busy lately (including me.) I need to take advantage of being awake early, and not having anything to do... rawr.

Oh and there will be art up this evening. Keep an eye out for it.
I'm putting this on both of my threads, but I would really like to find a shop that makes thread banners. I looked through a few this morning and didn't really like them. So if you know of a shop, or would like to make them yourself. PM me and we'll talk finder's fees and/or prices.
That sounds like alot of fun. I used to do that stuff when I was kid all the time with friends. Most of the exploration though was usually in creeks and forested areas.
I love exploring those areas as well, but abandoned buildings are something better, at least for me. I love creating stories for why a building is abandoned. Adding history that the building may or may not of actually add to answer why beds were left behind and children's toys strewn across rooms that echo with silence.

I'm in a really allegorical mood, so forgive the wordiness...
surprised Abandoned building exploration seems fun but a bit scary I don't think I can do that here since it's probably trespassing and the doors are locked XD
I trespass. I never vandalize. If a door is locked it stays locked, but just because a door is locked doesn't mean that the window is... or that the window even exists anymore. I never take anything except pictures.
Sometimes I ask the owners of a property if they will allow me to take the photos, but more often than not I just sneak around, take the pictures, and get out there. I've had the police called on me twice, but they can't arrest someone unless the owners of the property can prove that vandalism occurred. They can only escort you to the edge of the property and ask you to leave.
Trespassing is a civil matter, unless it's a government owned building... then you sneak it late at night... scare yourself senseless with crazy sounds... and if you see lights that aren't your own, you run. smile

Oh and I NEVER go out alone. I always have a buddy who is at least as fit as I am, or better. Doing this stuff alone is insanity... but I know people who do.
lol. True XD. Sounds like an adrenaline rush biggrin

Seen anything interesting from your explorations?
Cute Things I've Seen:
-Baby raccoons in a cabinet under a sink
-nests of birds in the rafters of buildings
-feral kittens (there are so many)

Strange Things:
- A collection of newly tanned animal skins, presumably deer.
- A collection of ritually arranged bones, looked like animal bones, but we hauled out of there fast anyway.
- An insane asylum circa 1925.
Oh man, I would NOT go in an asylum ever. xD You've got guts.
The asylum was really interesting. The way the rooms were organized them, versus now. The way that it had deteriorated in different places. The creepiest thing was the fact that the area were they had done electroshock and what not was actually more deteriorated than any other part of the building. The reality is that more people broke into that part of the building, but irrationally you just can't help but believe it has something to do with the ghosts of former patients that hated that room.
You actually found where they did electroshock? Did it have a chair or something? Ohh wow...
This is a weird question, but could you feel a vibe of previous patients? .___.!
The room said Electro Therapy on the door. It had a gurney, some chairs, and prep table in it. Electroshock was done on prone (lying down) patients. The electricity made patients convulse, so to have them sitting up would have made the "procedure" even more dangerous.
I can't say that I felt any vibes in there, but one of my friends said that she got severely chilled while we were rummaging.

That would be so interesting to see!

Knowing me I would probably be all gun ho to go in an check everything out, but midway through I would probably start getting spooked just by the scenery. lol

o____o The conversation in this thread is interesting. *lurk*
... O_- I want to call you Birdie, so bad....

Welcome, Odd.

Well, I know that I started freaking out when doors started slamming down the hall from us. No wind, and we had checked to make sure there weren't any squatters/homeless in the building after we went in. We always carry extra food with us just in case. So that was strange. There were three girls, and four guys... we all screamed. My lesson from this was don't take effeminate men with you to explore a possibly haunted building.

I wish that hadn't torn it down last year.
