Anyway, about the whole gaia age limit discussion thing, I think that the age limit on the site should just be upped. Like, 15,16+. This site has stuff on it (including innuendos like from the EI report). Seriously, the stuff that's been on here lately, I don't see suitable for 13 or 14 year olds.

Yeah, that probably would be better.
but a really big issue is 10 year olds that lie about their age to come on Gaia.
and if they raised the age limit to be on here, they'd probably make the content worse, I think.

plus Gaia is hardly PG13.
I remember when they had porn ads on here.

That was part of our discussion. The problem was, Gaia started out as a younger teen's site, then they grew up, so the items matured. unfortunately since it's already well known as a young teen's site, more young teens joined. anyway, i have to go get ready for school biggrin

I know, right? Back in the days it was alright for 13 year olds to be on here, but all of this stuff they've got now (like the items where they just barely cover you, or alruna's rose, like people said) just doesn't make it appropriate. It's not even the swearing that bothers me. It's the content.

I don't remember the porn ads, but I suppose that's a good thing. burning_eyes

The porn ads weren't entirely Gaia's fault. The redirects? I get them occasionally, too, for other sites - annoying as hell.

I think it had to do with they way they get the ads. They come in bundles, or some such thing, and they can't control the exact stuff that gets put on, like they don't really know what they're getting (which is retarded). I think they fixed the porn ones, though. I never had that one happen to me.

I'm biased. I don't like censorship and I'm old enough to not understand what it might be like to be 13 XD That was...a long time ago. I couldn't actually care any less about the whole age issue. Parents who don't think their kids are mature enough for the site need to keep them off of it...period. If the parents wanna let their kids on it anyway - then they have to face the consequences and not b***h about it.

But even when I was 13, I was mature enough (and in a free enough family) that nothing had to be censored. I was allowed to see R movies, for example, so it was no big thing.

I was excited about the word filter...because that meant I didn't have to watch my language anymore :3

As for the items? Like you can't go outside at any time of the year and see that. Or even turn on the TV. It's far worse.
