But poor people like me who can't afford to pay RL cash for pixel items XD
Though, I still have my art O_o to make my life here.
But then again I wonder if my art's worth will ever go up >>;

Hmmmm I'm too lazy to offer some of the things I used to offer though.
http://ahou.deviantart.com <--in case anyone's interested XD to see my other art.

...........I was thinking of offering full color chibis at outrageous prices.
Think anyone would buy them? XD

Witty Fatcat

By the way, Yoru, I was going to ask you; you don't have these wigs (the one on my avi) on your no list, so do you take them? They seem annoying to draw, so I was surprised they weren't. xD

Gold is becoming null and void...its value is slowly slipping away. Everything keeps costing more and more and more...
Gaia is becoming so commercial, everything is all about money. They keep making more things to force people to donate to them.
They stop making new things worth gold in the shops and keep making more cash stuff until its coming out of our ears.
If sealed envelopes ever reach the 100k mark i think id leave gaia. That would mean everything was beyond reach to a normal person

@Yoru: *shrugs* I enjoy having contests, they're enjoyable and fun.
Plus sometimes you find artists that don't ever open shops they just wander.
Plus finding open shops is getting unbelievably difficult.

Though i will admit i have auction trauma but for the opposite reason.
Some artists are TERRIBLE at remembering they're in auctions x.x...
I have been forgotten about enough times.

I know that as well.
I used to have a friend, John my OC is made after her.
She was called Raison de Mourir.
She spent more time on contest entries than on her shop XDDDD

Oh, Teiflin's also Mark if you want to know ninja

O_o I have heard, many a big budgeted art whore who've said they've
lost quite a lot of art that way as well. Getting forgotten or the artist quit.
Which reminds me, I still wasn't paid from my last auction XDDD
What a waste >>;

Witty Fatcat

Depending on the price, I probably would. My only thing is that you should be -slightly- more accepting of certain items. Then I think you'd get a bunch of people who'd pay. xD <3

If they have almost nothing on the head aside from that hair O_o
I think I might accept.
One of my favorite headshots from my old shop was with that hair XDDD <3
But it would be difficult to find an avi I'd accept with that hair.
People tend to pile that hair with the equally hard to draw dresses.
Like the elegant set. DX GAH GAH~!

@Kimmi
Reminds me of when the Lira (it was an italian currency right?) was worth so little,
that you had to pay one bagful of paper money to buy like...maybe an apple! XD

Witty Fatcat

I was thinking about trying to request an avi with this hair. xD
Knowing that, though, I'll try and dumb it down.

And damn I wish you were accepting RL commissions for CG's. I'd buy. Haha.
Or for gold. That would be much easier. xD

Technically I'm not that hard up for cash XD
Which is why I don't have the "I ACCEPT EVERYTHING!" policy >>;
I mean I did have that before but T__T
It made drawing such a chore.
I'd keep procrastinating and putting off the more difficult commissions...
then end up canceling them in the end.
I also annoy my customers on purpose XD
To weed out people who er...are bad customers.
Like hit and run ones. Who post an application then run away.

Or people who want everything just right DX
I hate those >>; I want a lot of "space" when it comes to art.

And nice talking to ya guys~!
Gotta go....my internet time for the school's PC IS UP~!
SEEYA LATER! (when I get home XD )

@Yoru: I shouldn't donate but I cant seem to help myself...since I'm not artistic.
The only way i can afford my art habit is to donate to gaia and play the market...

*Goes and looks at your DA* yes I think laziness is your major flaw XD
Mm...I don't have any doubt people would buy them...there is a queue for your art.
But knowing your fickleness on what you'll accept you might not get any xDD

*Grins* I had gathered that about Tei... which reminds me where'd he vanish off to?
So all of your OCs are kind of made after people that you knew or know? ^ ^

Lol, well some people enjoy doing contest entries or wandering the request threads.
Because they get more say in what they draw and about their inspiration.
They dont have to force themselves into doing commissions they dont really wanna do.

Witty Fatcat

Ahh! You'd be perfect for me! The one thing I hate -MOST- about gaian artists is that they seem to think they need to draw every little thing exactly like the gaian avatars look. I HATE that.
I want to see the artist's STYLE. Not friggin' gaia on a larger scale.

I will have to stalk you. D;
And hope to someday get something booty-ful from you.
Well besides your adorable chibi's. Which I could, and gladly would, buy a million of. xD

@Yoru: Its gaia's greed thats to blame for all the problems you know...
If they hadn't brought out the cash shop and all the items that followed.
All the EIs that come out like clockwork, all the box items and everything

*Sighs* Yea... I have won 4 auctions in my time on gaia and NEVER AGAIN.
I don't trust people anymore... I've just had too many problems in the past.

1. A 2-person auction - I got art from one really quick, other kept dragging her feet. Never got hers

2. A 4-person auction - ALL 4 disappeared on me...i tried to find out and they said they were doing it over vacation. Then i found out they all vanished on vacation and couldn't do it until after, and it continued dragging on til i canceled coz i was sick of it. >.> ....many months later i heard from one and he gave me his art finally and wanted to be paid. I had already canceled the whole thing and his art was not the quality i was expecting. I thought about refusing to pay but that would make me feel guilty so i did anyway.

3. 1 person auction went fine.

4. 12 person auction. I think i had half of the people vanish on me.

I felt that Gaia was just becoming a money pig until I read this quote from Lanzer:

Lanzer
Gaia's goal is to provide a great place for members like you, while inside the Gaia headquarters, we are a very dedicated and intense team working very hard to carry forth this goal. But today is a very, very tough day for all of us, because we have to wave good-bye to some of these people who we see as a part of this dream, a part of the family.

From my previous entry, I've mentioned that it actually cost more money to run Gaia HQ than the money we make from things like sponsorships and virtual items. So with the economy taking a downturn and with our growth slowing down, we simply have to have less people working in the office so we can keep moving forward.

It's a very painful decision to make and I've lost many nights of sleep thinking "is there's something more I can do?". As the night became dawn, there were bad dreams, there were dreams of things working out better, there were dreams of us growing faster, and it's tough watching the clock reach the morning. I will never forget this whole experience.

For those who are leaving the Gaia team today, you all are awesome people and I won't forget the times we spent. I wish the best for all of you.

It's kinda long, but it's all important. I felt almost bad for Gaia as a whole when I read that, because of all the people who are thinking Gaia is just getting greedy while the people who work so hard are getting laid off because some of them are so stuck up they refuse to donate/pay cash for anything. D: (Not saying you are in ANY way, but some people are)

@Kimmi
XDDDD Hhahaha yeah.
They're just not as profitable >>;
and usually when the auction gets really big..
like an artist owing 12 fullbodies.
I get a feeling it's never gonna get done XD
>>;

@Crimson
O__O I wouldn't mind if they were honest about it.
That quote is hidden from the vast majority of people. really.
They should have a site-wide announcement, then add a big DONATE TO GAIA!
Button on the top of the site and state "GAIA IS IN THE RED! PLEASE HELP IT!"
And not "BUY BUY CASH STUFF NAO!" <---very very makes you think Gaia is greedy biatch neh?
