I typically only click banners if they contain really pretty art.
But then I sometimes get disappointed to find that they were using someone else's image. . .
Personally, when I am searching the art shop threads, I tend to avoid shops with a large page number and post count. I'm intimidated by it all for some reason.
Most likely because of what I see you were all talking about earlier.
Favorites are usually chosen by then, or everyone inside knows each other, or there are 'regulars' that scar me away.
I've been in many shops where regs give me the stink eye because I came in after 200+ pages of them talking, and act like it's against the law for someone new to be interested. .
sorry if that doesn't make any sense, I'm tired.
ewe;
Anyways, I tend to stick to buying from Temp shops because it's generally faster? I go in, fill out a form, and wait to see if I'm accepted. Perhaps I'm just lazy.
I also sort of have this grudge against normal shops because it seems to never fail.. I look at their samples and they have BEAUTIFUL artwork. I order from them, and then the end result's quality looks rushed and just.. not what I was paying for. I don't want to blow 400k+ on a piece that was rushed. I'd rather the artist tell me that they weren't inspired to draw my character anymore and just cancel the trade instead of hurrying to get it done.
I could rant forever about my opinions on Gaia Art shops, but I won't bore any of you further.
