This is a thread with references for the characters in my book. You can read more about my book by going to my profile and clicking the BOOK link. You can also view additional character art there, although your final reference should be this thread (since some characters have changed since I originally commissioned art.)

Want me to buy your art? I'm always willing to consider paying for some high-quality art. I prefer realism, but unique styles are great too. I usually won't pay for anime or chibi styles, since that's not the type of art I look for generally.

THE MAIN THREE
Bel, Ret, and Rom

BELHUM
The Main Character.

Name: Belhum
Age: around 20ish (she doesn't have an actual age, but she needs to look young enough to be in high school yet old enough to go into bars. don't worry about the age too much; most things will be fine.)
Height: 5'5" (not that it matters for headshots hurr hurr)
Ethnicity: Caucasian/White
Hair Color: Reddish-brown/Auburn
Hair Style: Straight, down to about boob-level (so probably not fully shown in the headshot)
Eye Color: Hazel
Accessories: Okay, she's the only person with a headshot accessory. She has this necklace that she ALWAYS wears, no matter what. You don't need to draw the pendant on the necklace if you don't want to, although if you want to go to bust level for the drawings I could provide you with a description of the pendant's design. Either way, please at least include the chain, as it's included in the reference picture on the left.
Personality: She can be very down-to-earth, but if you piss her off she will make your life a living hell. She can just be smiling in the headshot though, like the reference on the left.
Main Reference: I'm not even going to try to hide the fact that she's based on me. You should use this photo as the main reference for how I want her to look.
Other References: I can provide more if you want them, but I'd really like the picture to just be based on my photo.















RETFRU
The Main Love Interest (in the first book)

Name: Retfru
Age: around 20ish (same situation as Bel)
Height: 6'0" (not that it matters for headshots hurr hurr)
Ethnicity: Caucasian/White
Hair Color: Blond
Hair Style: Zac Efron. Zac's hair in that pic. It should be a little more blond, but it doesn't have to be as blond as the image on the left. It needs to be predominately blond, though.
Eye Color: Blue
Personality: He appears to be the sweetest guy ever to his classmates, but is a menace to Bel. He's mysterious. You can just have him smiling too.
Main Reference: The photo reference of Zac Efron is actually fairly accurate. You could draw based on that. Ret is a football player, so he shouldn't be super skinny, but he shouldn't be too muscle-y either.
Other References: I can provide more if you want them, but I'd really like the picture to just be based on the photo provided.















ROMAL
The Other Love Interest

Age: around 20ish
Height: 6'1" (not that it matters for headshots hurr hurr)
Ethnicity: Caucasian/White
Hair Color: BLACK
Please do not make it red as it is in the reference. I changed my mind on his haircolor.
Hair Style: Asian Kid. The hair in that pic is pretty much perfect. Romal isn't Asian, though.
Eye Color: Brown
Personality: He's the rebel. He's manipulative. However, he's loving to Bel, and Bel alone. You can have him smiling too, if you want~
Main Reference: I don't really have a good reference of him besides the one on the left! Sorry. Just keep in mind his stats (around 20ish, caucasian, black hair, the specified style, etc.)

SECONDARY (BUT STILL IMPORTANT) CHARACTERS THAT I NEED DRAWN
Arisa, Karrie, and Derek

ARISA
The Lonely Girl

Name: Arisa
Age: 17
Ethnicity: Caucasian/White (but Russian, if that changes your drawing style)
Hair Color: Blond
Hair Style: Super messy & untamed. She doesn't know how to fix her hair. Like this. I want her hair to be pure blond, not dirty blond.
Eye Color: Green
Personality: Very shy. Loves to write and draw. Wants to be accepted by her peers, but is always rejected for her slovenly appearance and lack of poise. She's naturally beautiful, but it's hidden by her messy hair and unattractive dress. You can draw her with a shy smile.
Note: She should be a little chubbier in the face than the other characters. Not fat, but not lean either. The other characters shouldn't be super lean though, either. They should be normal, and she should be just a little chubbier with a rounded face. She's not fat; it's just her facial structure.
Main Reference: I don't have a main reference for her. However, I think that the information I provided is sufficient. If you have any more questions, I would be happy to answer them.

KARRIE
The Energetic/Popular Girl

Name: Karrie
Age: 18
Ethnicity: Caucasian/White, but tan (about as tan as the girl on the right in this photo) Maybe a little tanner than the photo, actually. The girl is actually plenty tan, but the lighting in the photo washes her out a bit. Karrie should not be super tan; it should look natural.
Hair Color: Dirty Blond
Hair Style: like the girl on the right in this picture
Eye color: Blue
Personality: She loves talking. She's very bubbly and outgoing. You can have her smile too, although hers should be a big, open-mouth smile.
Note: I would like her to have a nose piercing like the one on the left side of the nose of the girl in this picture. Ignore the other piercings in that picture; I just want the ring that's on the left side of her nose (right side of the picture.)
Note 2: Karrie is kind of based on the girl on the right in this photo, so feel free to use that photo as a reference. However, you will need to make the appropriate changes to the hair, since Karrie's hair is a lot different than the girl in that photo.

DEREK
The Down-to-Earth Guy

Name: Derek
Age: 18
Ethnicity: Cambodian (like this - sorry about using a military photo; it's the closest I could find to what he should look like) He looks more like the guy on the right in that photo than the guy on the left in that photo.
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style: Buzz cut like David Beckham's.
Eye color: Hazel
Personality: As Karrie's boyfriend, he acts as the weight that keeps her grounded to earth. He appears to be a calm and collected individual. He's really popular like Karrie. You can have him smile a "knowing" smile, if you have an idea of what that is. Otherwise, you can just have him smile a normal smile like the main three.

SECONDARY (BUT STILL IMPORTANT) CHARACTERS THAT I WANT DRAWN
Tasha and Anthony.

TASHA
The [B-word]

Name: Tasha
Age: 18
Ethnicity: Caucasian/White
Hair Color: REDHEAD (I changed it; sorry)
Hair Style: Reese Witherspoon. That style. Heck, the color works too. You could just use the hair in that photo to base Tasha's hair on in your drawing.
Eye Color: Gray
Personality: Like I said earlier: [B-word]. She's narcissistic and insults everyone. She's always on top of the latest fashions and looks down on those who aren't. Draw her with a wicked smirk.
Main Reference: I have a reference for her, kind of. Tasha reference. It's not perfect since I've changed her appearance a bit, so don't base your drawing off of that art, but it's something you can glance at to get an idea of her appearance. Her hair should be a little longer and way more blond (although that's kind of the result of the lighting in that art.)


JOSH
The Smart Guy

Name: JOSH
Age: 17
Ethnicity: Asian
Hair Color: Black
Hair Style: like this kid's
Eye Color: Brown
Personality: Josh is actually Tasha's boyfriend. He's a passive guy, so he doesn't take heed of the insults she gives (although she doesn't insult him often.) He's a quiet guy who likes to study, but also likes to go out and have fun. A "work hard, play hard" kind of guy.
Main Reference: I don't have a main reference for him. However, I think that the information I provided is sufficient. If you have any more questions, I would be happy to answer them. The hairstyle reference is actually a lot like him, although he doesn't have any earrings or other piercings.
