It's been around for a while and last year was very artful sadly this year there has been none.

Mostly cause gaia's business model has caused a large bunch of users and ARTISTS to leave.
Less people = less possible artists.
And most artists want IRL now since it's pretty impossible to get items without $$$.
I'm mostly looking for IRL for other reasons, but eich.
And most users who do have cash don't want to let it loose for the same reason- the expensive items. : /

No offense to anyone but I don't see the reason I should pay real money for something virtual.
I'm having a hard enough time paying my bills. I need to use my hard earned money on gaia art too?
That's my stance anyway.

Well think about, some artists make their wages by making art.
Some people don't mind doing it for free, some need to do it because it's their job.
If there was a really famous artist wouldn't you pay for their work? Wouldn't you want to support them?
Artists work just as hard (if not harder in some cases) as people at normal jobs.
In ways, being a full time artist is a 24/7 job.
We put a ton of effort into what we do- as to why some artists are more expensive than others.
It's perfectly fine for you to think that way, most do. But I'm on the stance that artists should be paid for what they do. I'm a little biased, yes, but I've talked to people- both creative and not creative. And they agree.

It would seem a little unfair if you put a lot of time an effort into something that someone asked of you to do. Using your specific skills and such. Don't you think you should be paid for the time, effort and professionalism put into that thing made for that client?

Yeah, agree. I moved over to another site but I can't do GG commissions over there at this moment. Need to save cash and also have a lot of other things holding up my time.
Gaia's usually been my commissing platform. Gonna hate to have to move if this site dries up.
But I'm not going to leave in case it does SOMEHOW survive.
