In this rp, dhampirs are the children of human women who were turned during their pregnancy and do not miscarry. They are highly monitored by a council that encourages them to become hunters. They're marked with a tattoo of a double-headed lion on their shoulder if they accept. If they choose not to or back out, they become hunted themselves.
Mijan was born out of wedlock, but raised by his biological parents for several years. His father was physically abusive and his mother was uninterested in him. He was abandoned, but managed to make it a few years before being recruited by two other Dhampirs (Nathaniel Mulligan and Jonathan Embrys) to become a hunter. Mijan took a long time to get used to the lifestyle because it conflicts with his kinder nature.
Dhampir blood tastes disgusting to vampires because Dhampires are part vampire themselves. It's like taking a swig of ketchup.
Mijan is in an extremely complicated relationship with Erian Chambers. Mijan is the bottom in the relationship. Mijan's goal is to get Erian to hate him because he doesn't feel it would be justified for Erian to feel any other way about him. He wants this because he feels incredible guilt for having executed Adam, Erian's former lover.

Nate immigrated to the USA from Ireland in the early 1900's and nearly died on the boat ride over. He has a slight accent when he gets angry. He never knew his parents. He had three serious lovers in his life (Evangeline in the 20's, June in the 1950's, Arlo in 1970's). He still visits their graves yearly. He thinks Amber is a good woman, but has a hard time accepting that since it conflicts with the ideology he has accepted about vampires. He's a bit of a broken man when it comes to romance anyway.
Nate and Jonathan are in a polyamorous relationship with Amber.

Of the three hunters, Jon is the only one who genuinely does not feel remorse when he kills. Unlike Nate and Mijan, Jon was raised to be a hunter since he was a small child after he witnessed hunters assassinate his mother, and his father is unknown. Jon's kind of a sad character in that he seems the most well adjusted, but in reality Jon's the most heartless. He goes the motions while concealing that he doesn't feel anything. Nate is the only person who knows this.
