About the artist and thread://

Hello there. Have a seat.

I'm Trillian, the owner of the Rising Sun, a thread inspired by the term 'art whore' and an old folk song.

I'm a biomedical technology student born on the 13th of February, 1989 and who joined the world of Gaia on the 9th of June, 2007.

I'm an artist who does random bits of art when inspired and I decided that I could use a permanent thread. My favorite rock song happens to be House of the Rising Sun by the British Invasion era band The Animals [I have a firm belief that most other versions are crap]. So, I named the thread after it. Simple, yeah? It's ironic, considering what a 'house of the rising sun' is and what we lovers of art call ourselves!

About the band://

As previously stated, the thread is designed as a homage to a band known as The Animals. They were part of a wave of British artists riding the wave of the Beatles' popularity in a time called The British Invasion. They started out as an R&B band and infused that intial sound with rock to make a unique sound that is, sadly, eclipsed today by the Fab Four. There were many incarnations of the band, lasting until around 1998 in various names, but this thread is a tribute to the original band, which lasted from 1962 to around 1965, when the keyboardist left for varied reasons.
The band consisted of Eric Burdon, the lead singer, Alan Price playing keyboard and the occasional backup vocals, Hilton Valentine on guitar, John Steel on drums and Chaz Chandler on bass.

My introductions are out of the way. Proceed to the next post for the stuff I will and will not do to satisfy you art whores.

OMG! Melody went though a name change!
I'm a HUGE Ringo Starr fan. I'm hoping to go see him this summer in concert and the idea of meeting a man that has been in my life since the Thomas the Tank Engine show is getting me all misty-eyed. My father believes that that is why I like his music, but who really knows?
Now, I got a little sidetracked. My name comes from a song that was written specially for Ringo-san's voice. My question to you is:

Who wrote the song Snookeroo?
