Had a look at the settings in the mean time though and yep: it's the white background. There's not much I can do about blurring against a white background~

What the hey is wrong and illegal about hugging your own avatar and thus yourself?!?!?
Okay: it's generally weird and probably would freak others out but I don't see anything wrong otherwise! *ogles the 'freak others out' part* emotion_dowant

UPDATE!
It took me a lot of frustrating hours, loads of coffee and many days living with a headache but I finally did it! I got the settinsg right! No more blurry animations!!!!
