Beauty of the Night

A young man with thick black hair kept a vigilant watch on his surrounding with blazing ruby orbs. You never knew when the worst would happen and you would not see those you loved again. Someone could come and take you away, sweep you under the rugs of the memories of those around you. They steal away not only that, but who you are. They change you, shape you like some sort of amateur gods. Some how they think this is okay... But they never seem to understand the true agony they cause.

The stillness of the ocean filled the air with the silent rush of water over cool sand. High in the sky, the glowing orb of the moon lit over the ground, lighting it with its pearl light, setting a peaceful atmosphere to the night. All was as if he had planned it, for it all was precisely as he might have wished it. Tonight he would say to her what he kept in his heart. No longer would he hold it back from her, watching glimmering tears gather in her sorrowed eyes. This time her heart would soar.

Rippling interruptions in the ebb and flow of the tide announced the second presence on the secluded beach. Those gem eyes settled on their origin, lighting at the beauty that unfolded.

First to break free of the liquid prison was a head of shining gold, curled against a body that shimmered like the moon on the water. Emeralds shined out of porcelain like features, flashing open to settle on his excited form. Perfection crossed her lips in a simple smile to make Heaven cry, for obviously it had lost on of its own to a more earthly home.

The name of beauty slipped over his tongue as her's, caressing her through his voice alone, a lover's touch from a distance. The shiver that coursed over her flesh caused her to shudder in the night, her eyes slipping closed as if to pull in part of him through her very being. The man's eyes darkened to the shade of rich velvet as he took in the sight of her, arousal coating his body and mind.

The earth bound angel rose her voice, the quiver within speaking of her deeper desires while her gaze, rich with lust, came back to rest on him. A shudder of reaction much too similar to the woman's coursed through him, driving his mind from the end goal. Simply her presence did things that no other could. He wanted her, needed her to be with him... And he couldn't wait.

Mere moments is all that kept the lovers at a distance. Only seconds allowed them to be parted from the arms and embrace of the other. Coming together, their lips finding nourishment in the taste of the other, was watching to halves become whole. Souls mated for more than just a single lifetime was a concept for the poetic and love stuck; it was obvious that it truly existed in the rich night air.

As the heat within them built, the cool around them burned, rising their already flaring desires into all encompassing infernos. They fell in a tangle of limbs where they stood, each searching for something they could not find inside their self without the help of the other. Each brought the other to swells of rapturous delight, enticing sounds of pleasure to fill the once still evening.

As the sun slowly stole the chill from the air, casting a dim glow along the east, the promises that were held in the dark hours became wane. Ruby and emerald gems shot to look at the coming doom before they looked back into one another. Held in the arms of the one they loved above all else, they became what they could not handle. Gone was the shimmering lush gold, replaced by lank strands of slimming gray. Where once melted chocolate hued his tone, the color of seaweed slowly took over.

Tears gathered in eyes turning dull as the female looked up to her only true love. The woman bit her lower lip, trying to stem the flow of her sorrow down her now gaunt cheeks, and kissed his cheek with thin lips. Sliding from his mutating form, her heart clenched, shuddering with the affliction of day. The man reached out for her, wishing to draw her back for those words he still with held, but the sight of his on monster like form stilled his movements.

A wane smile cast of the form of ragged age as they both shifted into their dual nightmares. Her shaking feet stepped into the surf, her heart ache falling like rivers down her cheeks. Though her voice no longer responded, she mouthed her affection in three simple words, wondering if this time she might go to the sea with a calm heart, his words ringing in her ears. She watched as the garish light of day rose behind her, but his lips moved in no movement she could discern. His head fell and another piece of her heart chipped away.

When next the creature looked up from the sandy shore, he was alone, even the footsteps of his beloved washed away like a fond dream. A fist formed within his chest, squeezing. Still he had not said that precious phrase that he knew meant everything to her. Next time... He would say it next time. Sorry for him that she would never return and he would be left alone to cry his tears of regret.

I'm so sorry about that. I've been caught up in a fairly popular thread by Basuki. I spend a lot of time chatting around in there. Other than that, I spend even more time writing and job hunting. We just need more people to realize they are welcome in here and come chat so people want to come chat... I was supposed to do that with my stories, but more often than not... I poof if no one replies within ten minutes.
