“Devaena feels this honor?” she asked hopefully.

“Not by my standards... but by some standard?” She was still trying to understand that mercenaries may have their own kind of honor and that demons and devils may have yet another type of honor was a little much for her.

Miehrru nodded that she did, but she couldn’t think of any stories right now, her thoughts struggling to make sense of this other-honor that her new friend spoke of. Her internal confusion was worn plainly on her face. With a heavy sigh she finally offered quietly to the table with a shake of her head, “Miehrru doesn’t understand.” She wanted to understand for her new friend. She was trying to understand but she just didn’t.

Blakely prided himself on being able to face shocking situations and keep a plain and unreadable expression. The torture of his men, almost certain death, failing his misstress and her subsequent wrath, the summoning of monstrous demons slobbering and seething - barely controlled... the list could go on. But this....

He was too stunned to be angry for a few moments after her words settled in, and he sat saying nothing in uncomfortable silence. The idea was ludicrous. There was absolutely no way Blakely would ever have allowed a woman to chain him so completely. Impossible. She was playing with him... as she always did, damn witch. He would show her who would be playing with who...the smile of amusement began to take shape on his face, his eyes hard chips of ice.

But the laughter died on his lips as the first tangible doubts assaulted Blakely's confidence. His mind whispered cunningly, you don't remember what happened.... how long were you there?.... as Empress she could have done anything she wanted... No... he would have died first. Even if his mistress had commanded him. But you are alive... now. The silence stretched between them, Blakely was unable to say a single thing in reply; his hand gripped his glass and finally he managed to raise it to drink. His eyes never left hers.

Could it be true? He saw her hand go almost subconsciouly to the armband she wore... what did that mean? If his mistress had commanded it... he could see Dovain giving him no choice, with all the scheming. Would he really have died instead? You are alive now... Of course he would have had some plan, that was it... it was part of their plot. But you want her too, Blakely... the thoughts would not go away. Perhaps you were not so disagreeable to these 'plots' after all... if there ever really were any.

No... He had to get out of there... Standing suddenly, Blakely downed the rest of his drink and from somewhere far in the recesses of his mind one shred of his usual self remained - he grasped for it and held on like a drowning man for the life preserver. "Well. Isn't that lovely. I would love to talk more about our arrangements, wife, but my business partner has just arrived." He indicated across the room to a man who was being seated at another table on the upper floor. "This is sure to be a long day, so while I take care of matters, make sure to eat well and drink up. Wouldn't do to be exhausted as I'll be having you on your back as soon as the workday is over."

With that he stepped from his chair and the table and made to stride away. His hands were shaking, but he would not let her see that.

Nope! Never have... but I love cooking shows. I have a bunch of different versions of sculpy laying around the house - definitely not edible, but I do want to see if I can make anything out of them. I used to sculpt with clay... long ago.

That one is lots of fun, but isnt renewed for a new season. I love food shows :p
I've always wanted to experiment with that stuff! I hear it's great! And clay is so...sensitive. -n- And picky. At least mine was. lol

Clay, yea.... its touchy. I prefer red, I think. I still havent messed with the sculpy. I keep meaning to get an area ready for it or something. Never happens.

Laveris could see herself reflected in his dark eyes, in physicality, in thought and in emotion. Usually seeing him utterly shocked like this would have brought her some sadistic pleasure, would have made her glee inside, made her smile; now she would have given anything to see that uncertainty go away, to hear him scoff and say with certainty that he knew she was joking. He can't remember either..?

He started up and shook her from her long thought, from the long stare they were giving one another, that she started as well. Her hand dropped back to the table, to bring the glass to her lips, to try and cover whatever had just happened. Then he stood and she followed the action, sweeping to her feet in long-practised imperiality, throwing every measure of herself into regaining the usually easy self confidence that she held herself with.

"I gave you what you asked for - what you demanded, claimed as your own," she told him as he began to walk away. "If you wish for more than that when business is over with, I suggest you do infact deliver me with some information. Isn't that why you dragged me out here?" She fixed him with eyes the colour and consistancy of steel whether he looked back at her or not.

Hehe. :3 I guess I just love music, it's like something that touches me down to the soul. I wish I was musically talented tbh. Or that I could translate that feeling it gives me into some art or writing, but it's like...inexpressable for me...

I love music too, it just for some reason can get on my nerves I have no idea why... it like smothers my own thoughts.

But, I actually sing and write songs still wink
