Cartagia
"So," she said, still holding the circlet; rather than place it back on her head she took it between her hands, resting the edge on the dark wood table top, and put enough force behind it that it spun when she released it and watched as it turned in its rush of gold before slowing and eventually coming to a shuddering stop. "What exactly is it that you are here to talk about Blakely?"

Blakely gave a contemptuous snort at her ideas of him, but then decided he had said too much and his expression returned to its normal sullen glare. Time to shut up about the pathetic stuff. He was not a prisoner, just not precisely a free man either. Not by a mile...

"Well, why don't you wait and see, your Majesty. You know, sometimes not knowing whats going to happen can actually be interesting." Although he much doubted she would find his business dealings interesting; still the place they were headed had some of the best food the Axle had to boast of. And a really choice house brandy - well, it wasn't called that but it tasted like brandy to him.

Meandering down the long Tranquil Skyway from the common plaza down to the Axle, Blakely dragged the Empress along, stopping to talk to a few acquaintances - mostly minor players in the one of the many schemes he was involved in at the Axle. A lot of them thought it was for money, but truth be told it was all about information, the more valuable of the two currencies.

Noticing she still held her circlet Blakely couldn't stop himself from imagining what she might look like with it on... and nothing else. Quickly switching his gaze to that of the skyway snapped him back out of it each time, though. The drop was dizzying, even with the skyway being 100 feet wide that open air made it almost seem too narrow.

Garland's dark interiors would make up for the lack of the view, and he would have his mind on business in no time. It was not likely to get rowdy either - not that he was precisely worried about Laveris, but it would be tiresome for her to get caught in the middle. He might actually have to make choices he might not ordinarily make. And that was dangerous too.

Throwing the doors open wide, he gave her a mocking bow, and insisted on her going in first. Although it pained him to admit it, Laveris was the one woman who could make you feel like any slights directed at her were actually compliments. She looked good sweeping past him, even here, crownless and guardless; regal. Witch....

A table, some wine, and then they were quietly seated across from each other. Blakely made no move to go on to business yet though. It wasn't time. The smells drifting from the kitchens were heavenly, spiced with the strange substances of the Planes. A few servers went past to their tables, balancing their platters.

Blakely realized he was thirsty and that both of their glasses were empty. Pouring a drink for her, and pushing it across the table unceremoniously, he grabbed his own drink and swallowed twice before setting it down. He was glad for the darkness that obscured both of their faces.

(( Woo, wall of text, and sorry I got a little godmoddy because I wanted to move them along to this restaurant. I know you are ok with it, but if you wanna put in some changes/actions go ahead ))

" Daodin turns to the blond woman and asks "What would you be willing to die for?"

"What would I be willing to die for?" There were many things she would die to protect... some things she could never live without... her family, her love, the people who followed her... But willingly... as in a trade?

Her voice, even though she spoke of dark things, was light and almost flippantly matter of fact. "Nothing."

"I will never die... I will fight until the bitter end grows farther and lesser, working endlessly to change defeat into victory, or to give us all another chance. There will always be a way, and I will always find it; I mean, I have to..." she finished with a shrug and then grew silent for a while, her eyes shadowed in the strange light of the room. Finally, she looked up at Daodin and spoke a little more somberly.

"To willingly die for anything would be to betray the ones I fight for, the ones who I live for... and myself. I might risk my life every day, or sacrifice myself in other ways, but I will never lay down arms, and I will never choose defeat. I know what you mean... Im sorry though, I just can't answer any other way."

Eager to turn the attention away from herself Lurp looks about the room and spots a child. Children make her only slightly less nervous than adults, but she'd seen some of the girl's reaction to Tegan's question and it gave her an idea. "If you could be a grown up right now and have all the privileges that come with adulthood, but would have to face every single one of the responsibilities too, would you want to do it?"

It wasn't easy finding information on Moores. The man had really gone to ground and he wasn't alone. He had Sky Captain Laresh out for him; after making a mockery of the Peace, and for disobeying a direct order - so it stood to reason Moores wasn't making himself an easy target.

There was really only one thing he could do if he wanted to live: get out of Cerxes or do in the captain. Doing something like that would buy him a lot of respect from the other guards.

So it was that after a week or longer of information gathering, Seist was able to find out that he had been skulking about to purchase a sure way of killing the fiend - who was pure Azturian. Not an easy thing to do... it seemed he was in the market for poison. A cowards weapon, really, except it was almost bravery when the target was Laresh.

So far, the only hint of his existence was his man, Borrek, who was quietly asking around in the Axle for the right purchase or a contact. Borrek was a merchant who sold glass artwork - elemental make - in the artisan's corner of the Axle - near the southern edge.
