Seist smiled thinly at the man and gingerly held out a hand to shake.

"Margrave Seist," he replied, "Tell me, have you been here long?"

"Been here long? Yeah, you might say I'm a native," Garath replied. The man's eyes flicked every so often to the front and back of the tavern, seeming to be watching for something.

"Than I suppose I have to ask," Seist said, "Has anyone ever returned to their homeworld?"

He wasn't really paying attention to the man for an answer, however, and instead looked sideways towards the tavern, keeping his attention seemingly focused on the man. He gently reached out with his magic, trying to get a feel for who else might have their attention focused on himself, Lurp, or Garath. Or if someone was readying magic to use against them. Years of traveling and... other things... had instilled in Seist a healthy paranoia.

"Well, it's hard to say... growing up, I'd heard of a great wizard who was said to have blinked out of here; but most everyone told the story with a different name, so who knows," the man shrugged. "But, I'd better get going. It's been nice chatting with you, Mr. Margrave." The man waved and turned to head out the front door.

After he explained the details, Teagan promptly signed the document, and looked back up at him, excited to start her new job.

"It sounds perfect," she remarked, "I'm ready to start immediately if you wish. I have no-" she stopped herself, blushing. "What I mean to say is, my luggage is very limited so I won't be needing any time 'settling' into my new room. Just let me know when you need me to start and I'm happy to oblige." She nodded to him at this statement and flashed a smile as well.

Mandy studied the woman's smile. "What an odd request" she thought, noticing the woman's sharp teeth. Now that she was looking for it, there were many strange things about this woman that she had missed at first glance. The woman had what appeared to be scales instead of skin on one arm and long nails more like claws.

Forgetting about the mashed potatoes, Mandy recalled the conversation from a few minutes ago. "Humans?" She started. "How can that be?" She muttered quietly to herself. These two where the first humans she had ever met, but from her conversations earlier that night, these people didn’t look like what she had imagined up to be a ‘human’.

"That arm makes her look more like an animal." The other commented as Mandy observed the woman. "And that guy has wings. Is this what human's look like? I don't think so." She scoffed.

"Yeah, and the demon guy said we look like humans." Mandy said quietly, looking off to the side and sounded rather puzzled.

Suddenly realizing that she'd been talking, Mandy started back at the two adults. Having just answered her question, their eyes where on her. "Umm," she started. How do you make half a conversation with yourself sound natural? "You guys said you're humans right?" She continued. "I didn't know humans had wings."

Teagan signed her name in ink as red as the rest of the document, and after she finished, Mr. Fletcher held up the document to look at her signature. "Teagan Isla Byrne, what a beautiful name. My dear, you will have to forgive me, I somehow heard Amanda when you introduced yourself earlier, my mistake," the man said, slipping the contract into his desk. "Well Ms. Byrne, now that that is all settled, why don't we discuss your first contract?" He passed the paper over to her.

"Thank you," she replied, blushing. "And no, you heard correctly. I have been in business before and I found it vital to never give your name away to just anyone. Giving your name is like giving a large amount of trust. There are people who know how to find out everything about you with just a name. I hope you'll forgive me but you'll notice that I also keep a firm practice of being honest on paper. A contract is a contract, and I honor them. You've earned enough of my trust to know my name and my intentions in business, so there's no need to hide such information now."

She took a breath, hoping that the news of her deception wouldn't anger him. She would hope most businessmen would be used to things like this- aliases, signs of good faith, motions to ensure safety.

"In any case I assure you I meant no harm, but only a precaution. But you have my written word now, so let me know what it is I can do for you, Mr. Fletcher."
