"Well, I promise not to eat you, then." Amelia said with a laugh, though she wondered in what world this little one came from where she had a demon inhabiting her to defend against cannibalism. At Lita's mention of her sword, the skyship captain tucked it behind her leg and out of view. "Ah, I'm sorry. In my line of work, my rapier is the only thing that can help me live - very much like your Demon, I suppose. Though mine doesn't glow."

Demon's words to the woman made her c**k her head in understanding as well as a nudge of annoyance. "It's very well hard for me to forget that you're there, apparition." But she softened as she watched Lita approach the bench. "But I will remember."

At Lita's questions of skyships and Ireland, Amelia's gaze became even more concerned. Even the remotest parts of the New World knew of skyships and steampropulsed zeppelins. Where is this child from?

"Ah... I'll begin with Ireland... It's an island off the west side of England." She stalled, unsure of how to continue her explanation. "It's all hills and coasts and farmlands and shipyards and green and rain. But the people are hardy and they make for a good crew."

Amelia paused again, and pulled out a pad of paper and a worn pencil from inside her vest. She quickly sketched a rough picture - art was never her strong suit - of a clipper with large, complex looking spiral steamengines attached to the aft of the ship.
Done with the drawing, Amelia showed it to Lita a bit sheepishly and, after a small apology for its terrible quality, began to explain.
"This is a steamship - or at least, it's close to how mine looks. Essentially, we've built a ship meant for sea to sail the skies. Build them out of balsa wood, an oak frame and strategically place hydrogen bladders, and you've a skyship out of a seafarer. But what truly makes them sky-worthy," Amelia pointed to the steamengines. "Are those. Each is unique, hand built and calibrated exactly to the ship they're mounted upon. Steam-powered engines which work to propel the ship, keep it aloft and give us more control of her in the sky."

Amelia looked up into the night air and gestured in small, but grand and open movements, a mock of how skyships move. She explained how they needed to keep the sails in if they used the propulsion system to go forwards, how the propulsion system could move to facilitate tight about-face turns and precision flight, how the hydrogen bladders were protected and how the balsa was so easily splintered that port and starboard cannons were never installed on any skyfaring ship.

As she spoke, the woman's eyes clouded over and a small hint of a smile could be seen under the Bauta's raised edge. It was clear to anyone that, though Amelia may not know how to explain Ireland, she knew how to feel and weave stories of skyships and their grand adventures.

I was startled when the ads first showed up, because I had no idea why they were there. (I thought my computer was just messing up.) Overall, I don't care for them—though I agree that they could be much worse. It's mostly an organizational thing, for me. I'm OCD about things being categorized and organized, and this ad placement does not go with my system. So, to me, it feels rather invasive. But I guess I'll get used to it in time. (It is a bit annoying that it looks like someone's signature, though.)

Yeah, Ereshkigal isn't exactly full of bright ideas. The "I thought she was dead" debacle has to be her worst though, my D&D group still make fun of me for it.

As far as what you missed, there's been some casual RPing and a scheduled RP (were you gone for that? I think you were), both of which are in the RP history threads. There's also been talk of Woeful's terrifying judging process, the new GoogleAds in the forums, art styles and comic-making programs, Laveris' kissing contest, the fact that John Tyler's missing an arm, how cute Fred is, and dancing for pizza. Among other things. And not in that order.
