Anyone else have any stories?

/passes out virtual cinnamon rolls. XD

*munches on the cinna'roll* heart

Nope. XD I don't do fights, I've never hit anyone in my life...properly lack any kind of aggression, it's like I'm allergic to it. rofl And no one has ever hit me, although my brother used to bite me when he was a toddler (he had speach problems) and some horrible girls at school used to kick me under the tables until it got boring I guess. Most of my bullies where emotional ones, not sure if that's worse or not......

Mmm, cinnamon roll. <3 //omnomnom
I got about five feet away from getting in a fight with a girl in 6th grade. Thank goodness I never did, I probably would have been massacred. I was tall for my age, but this girl was a goliath- well, and I was a twiggy little thing.
She was rather ornery and didn't have many friends because of it. A serious attitude problem, which I imagine was partially attributed to her being old enough to be in the next grade, and possibly coming from an angry home. One day during a short recess she was verbally abusing a group of my friends and my teacher. (From memory this girl was larger than my teacher as well and very aggressive.) So, in my giant T-shirt, leggings, skinny girl body and all, I started trying to tell her off.
That's about the jist of it. I was lucky she didn't break me in half that day.

I find it funny how I never realized how harmless I really was (and still am). I always thought of myself as tough. Scrappy, maybe. But I certainly have never had the mass to back up being "tough". xD

It wouldnt be bravery if that wasn't an inevitable ending! *applause*

After reading yours and another helper's post, I think I understand. Honestly though, for the future I'd suggest labeling these RPs and putting them as separate threads in the roleplaying forums, or making it VERY clear the location of said RPs (like the guild for example.) It just seems to confusing a system ot me to have to post RP things in this thread, when you're saying that RP sessions belong in the guild thread?

Not only that but I'm worried that you'd possible get this thread shut down by a mod, because you're roleplaying in a forum meant for art contests. If the wrong mod comes along, they'll see a bunch of posts irrelevant to the forum, and might move the thread.

Anyways,it's just a concern. I'll do my best to post in the appropriate place, but for now I'd suggest revamping the front page. There was a lot to read through, and honestly I'm still not 100% sure whats going on, and even after two people have gone through great effort to explain it to me. :C
I appreciate your concern. While I can't change anything myself, (I've only been working here for a few days) I will pass on your concerns to Kimaya, who should be able to address these issues.

I have one! It's kind of sad though because I was a total beast.

In fourth grade i sat next to this boy who really, REALLY liked cheese puffs. so much so that at lunch he would sometimes walk around carrying and smelling an empty bag of them. (that he had allready eaten). It was on one such occasion that i was was out with him and another friend (during the recess after lunch.)

My other friend started making fun of him, took is empty bag, ripped it in half, and threw it in the dumpster behind the school. The boy then bravely jumped in after it. xd

my friend and i then proceded to mock him mercilessly until he shoved me up agents a wall in anger for my betraying him. ...and because I was the girl and was therefor and easier target. Needless to say, I didn't take kindly to the push, or the idea that he thought he could beat me up (even though I was a twig) because I was 'super tough'! xp

I must have looked up at him with the most terrifying glare because when I did look up, not saying anything, he let out a yelp and booked it to the oposite end of the playground. I, of course gave chase, shouting things like, 'you wuss! get back here!"

conveniantly for me, he ran so far away that by the tie I caught him, we were out of sight from any of the adult hall monitors/gaurds against angry kids. He climbed a fence and stood on top where I couldn't get to him so I started gathering rocks and throwing them at him.

When I turned back to the ground behind me (to reload on rocks) he jump off the fence landing on my back. I turned him around, got on top, and proceeded to punch the living crap out of his face.

The fight ended when the bell rang and he ran off, yelling over his shoulder, 'I just don't want to be late for class!'

I then came back to class were I shared a desk with him. we had reading time next and he told me he would never let me borrow his 'Calvin and Hobbes" comics again. I pretended not to care. ...but defiantly did.

Anyway... I'm a beast. I know. I promise I'm nice now

Ooh, cinnamon rolls? (It was doughnuts this morning, and now it's cinnamon rolls... Sweet breads are so good!)

Wew—everyone's "fight" stories are pretty crazy! I've never gotten into a fight (though a girl did throw her soda in my face once, for no apparent reason). I'm a pacifist through and through—unless someone's being mean to my friends. But even then I'm a verbal attacker over physical. And I'm rather horrible at defending myself. sweatdrop

I'm just not a violent person at all. I used to have a temper and throw tantrums—but I stopped that when I was seven years old. And I really don't take violence/attacks well, either; which has caused me some issues with friends over the years, the ones who tend to be more physically demonstrative... (Heh. I don't even take yelling well.) crying

ROFL best story ever.... I laughed out loud at the fact the kid jumped in after the bag... that is really pretty weird.

And yea, kids are terrible... I mean, I was pretty snooty up through until senior year in highschool actually. Sad! And I don't have any excuse... except that I think I was probably not as bad as my brother... who felt his first child would come out lacking toes in some form of payment for his childhood behavior.

Sad day. That was rather beastly. xD Hopefully you didn't scar him for life.
Luna_et_Noctis

Well, from your description of your last forum, it does sound like to me that saying it was in "the process of dying" was a fair statement. And while I don't want to speculate on the maturity of parties I haven't met, activities like gossiping behind players' backs and discontinuing activity without notifying contributing parties are juvenile at best. But! Try not to let it get to you. I know it's difficult to step back and evaluate when it is and isn't, in fact, our fault when something bad happens, but it is necessary to keep from going crazy.

Now, some heavily opinionated advice:

First, something that I think is similar between tabletop RP and text-based RP is its flexibility. If I forget that my character isn't at an event that I suddenly start talking in, people would probably say something like "Lol, when did you get here?" and I would be like "Wat? Oh yeah, sorry! Um, I do X, X and X then. And X, for spite. biggrin "

And second, you should try to be as confident RPing as you are with your prose. It's basically the same thing. You are confident in your writing right? You should be. When I read through all of the entries, I found your world and character INCREDIBLY creative and interesting (mimic hat eek ) and hoped to at some point work up the courage to talk to you about them, and see if the story was possibly published somewhere online to read. (Would you guess I have a little self-confidence issue too? It took me forever to write up my first response. "I don't want to sound bossy.. what if I somehow insult her?" gonk )

Give it some time, but I hope you do. Yours was one of the ones I really hoped to meet ^^

Thank you so much...particularly about the comments about my form. You have no idea how much that meant... (And no, unfortunately--though the world and story are one I plan to write a book about one day.)

My main RP experience is a quickfire IM RP I've been doing with my best RL friend for about three and a half years. So it's in a place where we both trust each other completely, both OOC in general and with the RP, not only because we are best friends but also because we've been doing this so long. So usually when situations like that come up, because it is so casual, we never feel bad going "oh hey, actually ____" and the other person just going "oh, okay, scratch that". But when I move to RP with strangers, and on a forum...I guess I feel like those mistakes might be taken as godmoding, rather than just a mistake, since other people might not know how willing I am to cross it out and correct it, or even not like the idea of having to do that in the first place?

I might give it another try, at some point, I suppose...I think I just have to be more aware of and careful of those habits?
