Er, I hope it's okay to post here? Dear god, I am so overwhelmingly intimidated by this thread, it's terrifying. o_o

You know, I should update the page more even though we only have a week left. It is slightly possible I will move the competition date back two weeks and change the round dates.

The competition is slightly secret (read: im still working on it). But the sorts of things you can expect would be questions that reveal more about your character's development. The last ones I did were a questionnaire, and then an RP which required decision making only. All of the contestants did prose style replies, but it was not necessary.

I know the setting is really wacky, and its meant to be... but not having a demi-god, demon or dragon as a character will not make you lose... the judging is based completely on the idea of the character. I'm pretty sure we had some characters who were ordinary humans make it to the final stage.

You won't truly be pitted against each other, like in a battle royale for true, but your ideas will be, basically.

Okay, thank you! I think I actually know which of my characters I'm going to use. It was difficult to decide, though--I had several that were tempting.

It was hard for me to even post, to be honest...this is something I want to do REALLY badly, but it's kind of outside my comfort zone to get involved in a big thing like this, so I almost walked away--but I'm really, really excited too, and I'm glad I was able to get myself to take a risk. lol Even if I don't have much chance to win, I think it'll be good for me, both for character development, and personally, since I normally tend to withdraw and stay within my comfort zone. And I think it'll be fun, despite the fear. XD

Actually, by all means, its far more interesting! Nothing can be more boring than RPing by myself LOL... although I will do that if necessary (or force Riot to help me XD). Danique will have her moment to have it out with that captain soon and the story will progress... perhaps tomorrow :3

I hear ya on the solo rping, it gets boring real fast but its always good ta have back up to drag in to helping out biggrin

Hope I'm not being a bother, but I also have a question about the form/profile: Is it 100 words for JUST the "stats" section, or for the whole stats/race/world description (I'm worried the world description might run a touch longer than that, since it's a somewhat...strange world, of my own invention, and there are a couple elements important to the character that'll have to be mentioned)?

Not a bother at all. The stats is 100 words for that section yes. I know it is a tough limit, but I think it is fair... while there are not that many entries, there is still a lot of reading to do. I don't want to overwhelm the judges. We had 70ish entries the first time I did this contest and I wanted to make sure we would have time to give them all attention.

Try to think of it is a snapshot of your character. Like what someone would see for one moment into their lives.

I usually have models/deviantart models/real people for my characters
Does that count as "needing permission"?
It is usually not a problem with normal RP's but since this is a competition, I want to be sure

Saw this before I logged off...

If you have their permission to use the piece for art then you have it to use for the entry.

If the model doesn't require that you ask them, then it doesn't matter to me if you use their photo. If they do require that you ask them, then yes, you should ask them. Once they say its ok, go ahead and use it. ^^

Does that make sense?
