The force of Laveris's hand instantly sobered Teagan up, as she toppled over with a loud cry. Her eyes flew wide open, as did her jaw, in complete shock. And suddenly it made sense- Laveris was indeed Blakely's wife.

The pain in her face was almost number by the utter confusion of it all. Why....why the hell was she talking to me if....what the hell just happened?!! Teagan rose slowly to her knees, and sure enough, a steady glare of defiance spread across her red face. "Donne and Blakely might as well be one person!!!" she spat back, finally. Not that Laveris knew who Donne was, but she could guess.

Teagan stood upright, but did not step forward, seeing the pistol. "You tell me how I'm supposed to deal with pain that the entire world will paint as MY fault, and then you can preach to me!" She bared her teeth. "I wasn't ASKING to have my body defiled, it just WAS. And now for the rest of my life I'm dirty, used, and broken. And you're saying just because I can't punish ONE of the men who originally did this to me, that I get no justice at all?!" Teagan's eyes darted around. Yes, everyone was staring. Ja'tel included.

"I'm glad you have it so well that you can solve your own problems all by yourself, or that people respect you enough to leave you the hell alone about them when you wish. But then again why should I be surprised? You're sleeping with the enemy! Of course he'll treat you slightly better when you go to bed with him. They ALL do. Every last goddamn one!"

Her fists were clenched now, but she knew better than to try and strike. She fumed so much that a vein was growing larger on her forehead. This was one of the many moments in Teagan's life, where all she wished was to spontaneously combust, to explode and be consumed by fire, so that she could prove to the entire crowd that her anguish was not something to be taken lightly.

"We're done here." She muttered in a dark tone, throwing down a pile of money at the horrified vendor. "Allow me to pay for your meal, Laveris." She spoke her name like it was a curse-word. Slowly, she took steps backwards, hoping that somehow Ja'tel was close enough behind her, to help if Laveris decided to shoot her after all.

(( epic b***h battle number 2, for Teagan. lol I have a feeling she "lost" this one as well. ))

Ja'tel could feel that things were beginning to turn sour with Teagan and her new friend, as he watched the woman's expressions, and the decreasing stability of Teagan in her seat. Then came the strike. "Excuse me!" He said hurriedly to the musicians as he dashed over to join Teagan, who was most likely now drunk but not in the company of someone who took it as smoothly as he.

He assessed the woman, her height, guessed her strength given she was without any spells and looked for weapons. He spotted something he did not recognize, and thought it best to avoid fighting her if he could. He didn't want to discover how clever other worlds were with their weaponry. He arrived at Teagan's side in a moment, the woman still standing over her with hate in her eyes.

He faced her, but addressed Teagan as if ignoring her presence. "Getting into trouble..." his voice was full of affection, to try to ease the blow she just took, his dark gaze remained upon the stranger and burned with anger as if taunting her, 'Do it again...'

"Turn pain into action," Laveris offered by way of a reply, not taking her eyes off the woman. "Use it, make it your own weapon...don't misguide it, or drown it in liquor, you may well find you fall into the pool with it."

With that she was done. She did not afford Teagan, or her friend, another glance before she turned away from them although she held the pistol in her hands for a time longer, to stop the appearance of her fingers trembling. Her mind could not make sense of what had just happened, of how she had come to such anger...on Blakely's behalf....

So you do love him afterall.

She needed a drink herself after this. And a cigarette. And perhaps a memory wipe to follow...

South Korea. I just didn't think it'd be THIS unpredictable ('cause I've worked abroad before). I also didn't think it could affect my time for entries but it did, sadly stressed .

Still cool. I envy you, not the negative occurrences of course, but I would love to go to South Korea one of these days. c: Are things going better now?

"Shut up..." Teagan whispered back, staggering to hold onto Ja'tel. "Evil...." was all she could mutter. Her head was spinning, and she could no longer stand on her own. The yelling and hatred had taken all her energy away.

Her hands gripped Ja'tel's arm tight, and she buried her face in his chest. "Take me somewhere...anywhere but here..." she groaned. "I think I'm going to be sick." Teagan cursed under her breath. She was disappointed in herself, only because she continued to find that no one was on her side about anything. She wondered when she would reach this revelation with Ja'tel. What was it she believed in, that he would inevitably fight with here against, tooth and nail?

"Help me.." she whimpered, falling into his arms as her eyes could no longer stay open, without seeing swirls of color and light.

Uh... to tell you the truth, things are fine. I think the media just gave a lot of people a scare because the South Koreans don't seem to care too much. They were a little concerned for a moment (supposedly, that's rather rare) but things seem pretty normal around here. Nothing is going to happen for a long time at least. But if you'd like to go South Korea one day, do come soon. biggrin

"Well if those plans have anything to do with gettin' rid of the soddin' Machina, then you can count me in," Sadye said dryly. "Honestly though," she said more sincerely, "I just wanna get back to my own kip, ya savvy cutter? This place is nice enough, but it ain't Sigil. Think you can help with that? I'd certainly help ya out if you could."

((Oh Sadye you're so naive sometimes....
Realised how short a response this was gonna be so I just went ahead and posted it. NOW I'm off for a bit rofl Cya soon guys and gals!))

Lias paused; he wasn't sure he'd understood a word of that sentance. But he smiled at her.

"Anything you wish as your reward," he told her. "You may have from me. Is that what you wish for?"

((a short from me too, but that's because I decided Lias hasn't got a clue what Sadye is talking about. rofl ))

Ja'tel turned to Teagan very confused. 'What happened?' Having only heard fragments of the conversation in bursts of emotion, he didn't know what could have possibly spawned such reactions in both women. He wanted to be upset with her, drinking when they had places to be and people to catch, but she hung onto him to so helplessly, and he could tell from her face there were internal emotions that tormented her on level he didn't comprehend.

He said nothing, but took her up and carried her swiftly away from the eyes of the market-goers. 'Unless you plan on sleeping, you won't be having alcohol when I'm around'
He swore to her in his mind. Not knowing quite where to take her, he figured he would rest her at her place until she sobered up and regained her emotions. At least it was mostly safe there. He looked down at her as she rested against him, pity welling up inside him. 'What do I get myself in to...'

Avery knew where Dead Man’s Meet was; he’d been there a couple weeks back on an errand. It also helped that in the month and a half (or so) that he’d been here Avery had acquainted himself with the general lay of the land. No royal obligations, no guild intrigue, nothing (not even artifact retrieval) to keep him out of trouble coupled with a desperate need to distract himself from his thoughts of home and his concern for Sentelle he had let his curiosity take him where it would. This time it had brought him to a man interested in hired protection.

Avery was glad that, Variable, the name he had been given for his potential new co-worker, had the intelligence to suggest a casual meeting of sorts to become better acquainted. Entering the bar Avery sighted Kend and made his way to the table. The last to arrive, but not late, Avery made his way across the room with the easy grace of his elven race.

He acknowledged the messenger with a nod, “Kend”. He was aware that physical contact made the man nervous though he had nothing more to go on than an observation that the man was jumpy in general. He turned to the unfamiliar human-looking female “Variable, I presume,” he extended his hand in the familiar human custom, “Avery,” he offered her his name.

There were moments when she tried to speak, but she could barely move her lips without feeling like she would vomit. Ja'tel managed to reach the edge of the Axle, before Teagan motioned to put her down. She wasn't sure if she would vomit, but she didn't want to. It would be just another thing to add to the list of her humiliation. She clenched her fists, kneeling on the cold stone road, gasping for air.

I can't even have revenge before I die. I can't even take back what was stolen. I can't be worth anything to anyone. Why do I even live!!
The thoughts were nearly driving her to take her dagger and gut herself. But with Ja'tel there watching, she'd never even pretend to do so. She owed him some kind of stability in their partnership. These binges and outbursts just wouldn't do.

....Why did I even drink in the FIRST place tonight.... Every mistake she'd ever made replayed in her mind, as it always did when she was in despair. Were it not for Ja'tel's presence, she'd be consumed by them, and curl up into a fetal position, rocking back and forth until she fell asleep.

But no, she was kneeling on the ground, slightly rocking, slightly nauseous, cursing under her breath. Her mother's dry voice cut through her over and over- "Get a hold of yourself! You're acting like a child!"

After a few minutes, she did her best to control her breathing, and slowly stood up. Her balance wavered, but she didn't lean as much anymore. Rather, now she stood deathly still, as if she was frozen solid.

"I don't know what you people want me to do..." she said aloud. "Everyone is so inconvenienced by my troubles, but no one even knows the half of them, or how to fix them for that matter. All you want to do is tell me...to stop crying..." She almost choked on her words, but held tears back.

"I'm a joke to everyone. I'm the joke of Serendipity. My pain, my past, mean nothing to anyone here. I'm just a thorn in everyone's side." She clenched her teeth at her last words. She still faced away from Ja'tel, scared of what expression would be on his face. It didn't matter how he felt now though, she was certain that whether it be pity or anger, there was nothing she could do to appease him.

"My sincerest apologies..." she said coldly turning to him, "I will NOT let this happen again. I swear it. I'm done...with this...drinking...socializing...madness. Consider me sober of alcohol and emotion from this point forward." She stared at him with a blank expression, trying her best to stand properly.

I think that was a few months ago when N. Korea set a bomb or something on S. Korean borders. I could be wrong. I wasn't paying attention, but my mom freaked out because she knew I was going to S. Korea. I didn't really care because I knew it was going to be nothing when I get here. And, it is. Most S. Koreans, as I learned, are really not concerned with N. Korea. I am not sure if it is because they don't care, don't know, or something else.
