To get right to the point, if you don't already know, this is an art contest based on a guild roleplay with close friends.

THE RULES.

Please be sure to read and remember these rules as you enter the contest. We have the right to add more as we see fit.

- This isn't really a rule, but more of an advisory. We're providing information for our characters. It'd be a good idea to at least skim through it, but it'll tickle us pink if you read all of it and come up with some kickass ideas for images based on said information. We won't say that it gives you a better chance of winning, but it's better than shooting a gun in the dark.

- DO. NOT. STEAL. ARTWORK. These need to be pictures you drew/slaved over. Meaning: No tracing, no pixel dolls, none of that s**t. We're not inter-novices here. If you're tracing, we'll catch you. It's not a threat, it's a promise.

- Don't harass the other artists. We expect good sportsmanship here.

- If you lose, you lose. One thing you have to keep in mind is that you're trying to appeal to our interests here. So whoever we think is the best will be the winner of that category.

- Don't be afraid to ask us questions. If you're worried about something and aren't sure whether to do it, or want to know something extra about the characters, we'll be more than happy to answer it. In fact, we like that. Shows you're paying attention. If it's something you can't ask in the thread (for whatever reason), Please PM the owner of the character instead of the mule. That way it'll be seen faster.

- Are we allowed to enter more than once?
Yes. Enter as many times as you like!

- Is it possible to win more than one category?
Yes it is!

- What are the judges looking for?
Each of us are looking for different things. In general though, each image will be judged based on creativity, how well it fits with the category, and technique.

- What happens if only one person enters for a certain category?
Each Category will have a minimum amount of entries that it'll need. If it doesn't meet this by the end of the contest, the prize and the entries will be pulled into a different category

- Does it have to be fullbody?
No

- Do we need to have a background?
Nope, backgrounds are option, but it couldn't hurt!

- May I add a small signature to my entry?

Hitsuzen‘s Profile

Hello! I’m Hitsu, and I’ve been wandering aimlessly around Gaia for about six and a half years now. Among the characters below, two were created long before I had the internet; let alone knew that Gaia existed. Yuki and Hitsu are close to my heart, though they have gone through some changes over the many, many years that they’ve been around as some of you may know. These ‘alternate’ versions of them have grown on me, and I’ll love seeing what kinds of images I can collect of them and their fellow Nao ‘cast’ members.

Like nearly the entire Gaian population; I do enjoy the manga/anime style, be it pixel or cell shaded. However, I also like realism. All in all, I just love beautiful art. Whatever you guys are kind enough to submit for my characters, I assure you I’ll love.

Yuki (Yu1)

Age: 26
Race: ½ Feline, ½ Human
Height: 5’11”
Body Type: Fit; above average in muscle
Face Type: Thin; Somewhat narrow with high cheekbones
Complexion: Lightly tanned
Eye Color: Luminescent Teal [Identical to Hitsu’s]
Eye Type: Cautious; he’s now always watching those around him in suspicion
Hair Color: Midnight Black
Hair Style: Straight; Long - reaches mid back; Occasionally tied back
Special Markings / Features: Medium-haired feline tuxedo tail; just a bit fluffier than Hitsu's. Points to the ears, longer canine teeth, both a bit more pronounced than his sister's. Fingernails fashioned to be used like claws.
Physical Flaws: Various scars here and there from minor hunting/sparring injuries, likely to be on the arms/torso and most of them often covered by clothing.
Weakness(es): Strongly dislikes large bodies of water, and his ability to swim is extremely limited and likely to completely deteriorate if accompanied by panic. He will take any measures to keep his sister Hitsu safe, no matter what it might cost him in doing so. Also has the tendency to drop his guard around women, typically being a flirt. Well, he wishes he could be… He usually just succeeds in making himself look like an idiot and Neko lands the girl for himself. Yuki also had the tendency to act before thinking things through… Often.
Strengths: Catlike agility and flexibility, very skilled in climbing and jumping. Very good eyesight in little to no light, as most felines. Very fit physically, with higher than average physical strength. Quick reflexes due to both occupation and species.
General Demeanor: Yuki is friendly to most, yet can be very competitive toward other males inside or outside of his species. He's very protective of his sister, tribe members and friends and will always base his choices on their well-being if he can help it. Confident in his abilities, he's not as quick to panic in a stressful situation as his sister might be. He’ll help anyone in need, and serious violence is avoided if at all possible… For now.
Talents: Hunting/tracking, trapping and fishing (in the shallows, of course). Yuki is also moderately skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and familiar with the use of a variety of small weapons.
Hobbies: If trying to pick up girls counts as a hobby, that would be his favorite (even if he does always fail; damn Nekomata). Otherwise, when he's not distracted by required duties he can often be found sparring with one of the other young males in the tribe in order to keep his senses and strength up to par, and to generally pass the time.
Career: Guard & Hunter
Weapon of Choice: Claws, teeth, small knives/daggers... And pretty much anything lying around that could be of use.
Magical Abilities: Strong in the use of earth magic, along with minor use of smaller fire-type spells.
Colors of Choice: Black, White, Red, Blue, Green
Clothing Style: Typically wears baggy pants, but form fitting would be doable. Upper attire varies between loose, form-fitting, bare chested to completely uncovered.
History:
Yuki had a reasonably normal childhood for about the first half-dozen years of his life, being both within a village of his own kind. His father was human; it had been a bit controversial at the time for a human and a member of one of the animal tribes to mate, but it still happened regardless. His father Wilhelm was one of the rare human men that actually stayed with the tribe and came to be respected, if only after proving himself capable of the men‘s everyday tasks. Yuki was learning the ropes of hunting and tracking with his father and fellow tribe hunters when the boy and his father returned one evening to find Yuki’s mother - Kukiko - standing in the kitchen in a daze. Physically and emotionally beaten.

Several months later, Yuki’s little sister was born… Yuki witnessed Wilhelm leave the house in a rage upon first sight of the newborn. He never came back; no one ever saw or heard of him again after that night.

The role of father figure was open, and Deacon seemed to step into it of his own accord. Yuki already knew him and got along with him, so one could imagine that it was quite easy for the fellow feline to take the hybrid under his wing so to speak. Even easier for him to twist the boy’s image of his father into someone who deserved no respect. Someone who abandoned them. Left them to fend for themselves. Didn’t care about them; only himself.

The villagers and Deacon were left with a heavier responsibility toward the two when Kioko fell ill of undetermined cause and passed away in her sleep barely a month after. Yuki had come home to find Hitsu curled up next to her, unaware as to why their mother wasn’t waking. The loss of a parent is always difficult, but thankfully the outpouring of support that they received from their friends and neighbors was more than enough to aid them through the hard times.

Several years later, Yuki befriended a strange feline that had managed to follow Hitsu home; or, bring her home from being lost in the forest, really; named Nekomata. In later years Neko would prove to be a royal pain in Yuki’s a**, but despite the teasing and total blackouts of his memory Yuki would still do anything in his power to help his friend if it were ever needed.

What Yuki had considered to be a normal, boring life was ripped away from him in what felt like seconds the night that a canine found her way into their village… His sister’s persistence on giving the hungry Mitsu a share of their meal ended with them running for their lives from a silvertongued - and as it turned out very frightening hound - Yuval.

Relationships:
Hitsu: Yuki loves his sister dearly; he would die for her if he had to. Though he does believe that most of the trouble she gets into could be so easy to avoid if she’d pay better attention to the world around her instead of daydreaming and getting distracted by pretty things. He’s also terrified of just how trusting she is of people she’s meeting for the first time.
Kitwana: Weird. It’s pretty annoying to Yuki that the fox suggests to him frequently that his end is near. Yuki claims not to believe a word from Kit’s maw, but it is a bit unnerving to wonder just how soon you’re going to die when someone keeps telling you that you‘re not going to make it through your journey in one piece.
Deacon: He used to be one of Yuki’s best friends, being the one who took up the father role in his life when he and Hitsu’s own father abandoned them. Now Yuki is confused and angry with him; it’s like his old friend is a completely different person now that they’re no longer in their village…
Caleb: A pitiful little stray who can’t stand up for himself. Despite this, Yuki tries to stick up for him. If only to keep him from getting any more harsh beatings from Deacon. His wailing really does make Yuki want to punch him in the throat sometimes often, though.
Neko: He’s an a*****e, a cheater and a liar. He’ll get you drunk, ******** you and the next morning you won’t have any idea why you’re lying out in the middle of the street only half clothed and smelling of things you wished you couldn‘t identify. The b*****d always has a plot, and Yuki’s always the one who ends up having bad things happen to him in the end with Neko always coming out fully pleased with his own results. This would be Yuki’s best friend; wouldn’t you hate to see his enemies?
Mitsu: Yuki likes her, obviously in a non-romantic way. Yuki tries to look out for her much the same as he would look after Hitsu. He believes she likes him as well, but thinks it might merely be that he’s been around her for so long that she‘s developed a tolerance of sorts toward him.
Suto: [Hasn’t met yet; may change before contest ending. Just ask!]
Tobi: A stupid dog that eats their food whether it‘s given to him or not. However, seeing as Mitsu likes him so much Yuki has refrained from really trying to get rid of him. So far.
Riyo: Yuki thinks she’s a strange one, but despite this he is attracted to her. Neko is as well, and more often than not Yuki makes himself look like a complete moron in her presence while Neko is there to save the day.
Atticus: Probably the only male out of the entire group that Yuki is willing to trust alone with his sister. The guy keeps to himself, tends only to speak when spoken to, not to mention that he’s a doctor filled with knowledge on how to diagnose and (usually) treat anything that ails them. Yuki doesn’t mind Atticus.
Poke: Loud and bold. Bold Yuki likes, loud not so much. Despite this, Yuki is kind to her most of the time. In fact, he nearly killed himself in trying to save her from Shun.
Blade: The only human that Yuki has grown to trust. He’s saved their asses on more than one occasion. Be it physical danger, lack of food or lack of funds… Blade always seems to come through. While Yuki doesn’t really approve of theft, their situation kinda calls for it. It’s a dog eat dog world, as they say
Shun: He’s only seen him once, and even then he didn’t get a good look at the guy. Just as soon as he’d shown up, he nabbed Poke and left Yuki lying unconscious from magic exhaustion. Either way, it can easily be said that Yuki doesn’t care for him much.
Skye: He has met him on a few occasions, and in the future will come to trust him… For the most. With the bard being of human blood, sadly Yuki will always be at least a little suspicious of him.
Hanse: Violent, rude and quite possibly attracting his sister. Yuki hates him. Of course, this could very well be because in one of Neko’s wonderful attempts to plot against him Yuki and Hanse ended up in the same room. Hanse was unhappy, Yuki was drunk. Things caught on fire and the next think Yuki knew he was lying in the hallway with the remains of the door he’d been thrown through splintered in his back. Since then, the dragon has delighted in freaking out the feline at any opportunity.
Yuval: Terrifying. This stranger showed up unheard and unannounced at his door in the middle of the night; turning his life completely upside down within a maximum of thirty seconds. Yuki still suspects that the hound is tracking them, and the longer time goes that he doesn’t see or smell any sign of the canine… He only gets more and more concerned. Thinking he has lost them would be exactly what the hound would wait for them to believe, right?

Face Type: Young; not quite as narrow as Yuki’s

Hair Color: Brown
Hair Style: Short; Straight but choppy
Special Markings / Features: Short-haired feline tail; Black with white tip, she's always wearing a coiled ring around it. Small points to the ears, ever-so-slightly longer canine teeth. Fingernails fashioned to be used like claws.
Physical Flaws: None
Weakness(es): Fears and avoids just about any form of water deeper than a couple of feet and therefore cannot swim. Not very strong either mentally or physically when it comes to conflict, and is easy to overpower. Very trusting of others, and easy to lure into danger if she doesn't wander into it on her own.
Strengths: Catlike agility and flexibility, very skilled in climbing. Very good eyesight in little to no light, as most felines.
General Demeanor: Hitsu is very kind hearted, and most often tries to find the proper solutions to any given situation to make everyone involved as satisfied as possible. While intelligent in many aspects, she sometimes seems to lack common sense in other departments. She is always ready to make friends; typically this can be accomplished with her in less than five minutes.
Talents: Skilled in crafting primitive weapons, along with using grasses and leaves to weave rope, nets or baskets. She's also experienced in cooking, as she's helped prepare meals for her brother and sometimes fellow villagers since she was old enough to begin learning.
Hobbies: She tends to spend a lot of her time focused on one of her many tasks, or attempting to learn a little bit of magic. Leaves barely enough time for hobbies, though she does like to explore, despite the dangers of moving too far from her tribe's village.
Career: Tailor
Weapon of Choice: Claws and teeth; she’s never tried to use a real weapon.
Magical Abilities: Weak earth magic, even weaker white magic. She's in the process of learning, with Yuki trying to teach her earth-type while Hitsu tries to learn healing-type spells on her own.
Colors of Choice: Light Colors; Purples, Blues, Browns, Silver
Clothing Style: Usually form-fitting, sometimes moderately revealing. In whole, she's not particularly picky on what she wears, so long as it's comfortable for the season and covers the important parts.

Physical Flaws: Scars here and there from ‘hunts’ gone violent.
Weakness(es): Heights, even when his feet are touching ground. If you try to make him leave the ground floor of anything, you’re most likely going to end up missing teeth.
Strengths: Typical feline advantages, additional to his physical strength and power with magic.
General Demeanor:
Talents: Fashioning tools and traps from what can easily be found in nature, or by use of magic. Despite his age, he is experienced and still holds off well in hand to hand combat.
Hobbies: Sparring, training in general
Career: Hunter & Tracker
Weapon of Choice: The earth and stone beneath and around him… and the plants as well
Magical Abilities: Fully mastered in Earth magic, he poses quite a threat in battle. From years of practice and teaching, Deacon's spells are often swiftly carried out and rarely hold a flaw.
Colors of Choice: Earthy tones; Tan, Brown, Black, Gray, Green.
Clothing Style: Simple; Basic pants, with tunic when he's covered above the waist. His feet are bare, as he is convinced that having no shoes gives him better control over the earth beneath his feet. That, and putting shoes on foot paws is a pain in the a**… That’s what the paw pads are for!

Special Markings / Features: Kitwana is rather literally a fox on two feet, only larger.
Physical Flaws: Nothing yet.
Weakness(es): Most typical physical human and animal weaknesses, vulnerable to most magic if he cannot easily flee from it.
Strengths: He hardly shows true emotion, at least anything aside from his typical cheerful manner. He doesn't usually show a reaction to intimidation, unless pain is included. Even then, he's calm if he can help it.
General Demeanor: He's always smiling, and sometimes it's just downright creepy. He's got a very friendly attitude, though more often than not it's used to try and con money from those around him. He is especially kind around the ladies, and on some rare occasions he offers his talents to them free of charge. One gets to hold the hand of the palm they're reading, after all.
Talents: He is familiar with a handful of commonly known fortune-teller "tricks" including palm and tarot readings. His one true talent aside from his magic lies in his very real precognition, though it is beyond his control and his rare visions are usually very brief.
Hobbies: Tricking others with his techniques, harmless flirting with the ladies.
Career: Gypsy
Weapon of Choice: He's not much of a fighter, but the intricate wooden staff he carries could certainly pack a wallop of he hit someone with it.
Magical Abilities: He can shapeshift and perform illusions. Illusions are typically harmless and used either as entertainment or distraction. Shapeshifting is typically limited to forms of feral animals, as they have a much easier time slipping around without much notice.
Colors of Choice: All of them.
Clothing Style: Loose fitting, comfortable attire.

Face Type: Catlike; average nose, long (though most are broken) whiskers
Complexion: Pale? There’s kinda fur in the way…
Eye Color: Brown
Eye Type: Wide; fearful; alert
Hair Color: Grey, matching his fur
Hair Style: Messy; usually matted and very unkempt
Special Markings / Features: Aside from being an anthro in general, Caleb has a somewhat long manx-like tail that reaches a little way above his knees. Fur is medium length, usually unkempt with matting and the occasional bald spot. Honestly, the boy looks like one of those mangy alley cats that you think needs to be put down. His fur is solid gray over most of his body, with a large white patch on his chest/belly.
Physical Flaws: Many, many scars of various origin and method riddling his body. Considering that the boy has been owned by someone his entire life, it’s hard telling how many times he’s been abused, beaten, branded or any of the other terrible things that slave traders do.
Weakness(es): Just about everything.
Strengths: Absolutely nothing, unless you consider NOT dying from starvation and beatings to be a strength.
General Demeanor: Considering that this feline has had quite the terrifying life, more often than not the poor boy is scared out of his wits. People scare him, feral animals scare him, trees scare him… If you can say his name without making him leap a foot in the air, it’s probably because Deacon broke his leg(s).
Talents: Stealing… That’s pretty much it.
Hobbies: He has no time for hobbies, nor does he know what the word ‘hobbies’ means.
Career: Slave?
Weapon of Choice: Fighting? Hell no. This guy wants to stay alive, and would sooner be running away.
Magical Abilities: None to anyone’s knowledge, including him. However, he has been fitted with a locking collar that would suppress any magical abilities he ever would have had, anyway.
Colors of Choice: He has never had a choice. The color of cleanest rags?
Clothing Style: Anything that looks like it’s been a hand-me-down for about forty years. No shoes.

Yay about me. Well I enjoy a random assortment of things including different manga and comic book styles. I really like the art style I've seen so far in the manga Alice in the Country of Hearts

but I also enjoy the art styles in a variety of shojo and shonen manga alike from Black Butler all the way to Hellsing and Bleach. My favorite thing about western comics is the sharp contrast of shadows using black. The comics I follow the most and enjoy the style in are Deadpool and Cable, most of the X-men comics, and Teen Titans....so mostly marvel with a hint of DC XD

Something about Alphonse Mucha's style also appeals to me, I enjoy the designs and details in his images.

Mitsu I picture being mostly cute and innocent, Neko I see as more dynamic and arrogant, while Suto I see as more dark, grungy and violent. Tobi is just fun and mischievous.

And I don't know about anyone else but its completely fine to draw my characters in Modern Clothes as well. It might open things up a little bit more but I dunno XD;

Mitsu (Mi6)

Age: 17
Race: Demon Wolf halfbreed
Height: 5'2"
Body Type: Very small, lanky, not much of a figure.
Face Type: Round face, child-like, impish features
Complexion: Pale Tan
Eye color: Crimson Red
Eye type: Big and Round
Hair color: Snowy White
Hair Style: Very long in the back, either down or kept up in a ponytail or braid. The front is made up of long parted bangs that come down passed the shoulders.
Special Markings / features: Small pointed ears, elongated fangs, a fluffy wolf tail
Physical Flaws: Three long jagged scars runs down her back but is mostly hidden by her clothes.
Weakness(es):
Not very strong and very naive.

She has the ability to learn quickly but has a horrible long term memory. Basically she can learn something complicated in a short amount of time but the next day that knowledge will have been forgotten. She is also bad with remembering people unless she sees them often.

Other than her memory she really has a very fragile state of mind. Having had little interaction with the world up until this point she can be socially awkward, take things literally at times, or act very childish as a fall back. However, there is a darker side of her mind that she just can't seem to escape, something brutal and violent that only seems to be unlocked when she is stressed of extremely angry.

Strengths:
She is very quick on her feet.

When in 'berserk mode' she is quite physically strong

General Demeanor: Mostly she has the demeanor of a small shy child looking rather innocent up front, but there are a few thing that can easily make her mad without much provocation.
Hobbies: Enjoys drawing, though nothing looks like it should, reading, sunbathing (its so a hobby)

Really nothing fancy. Plain clothes are best though shades of blue often catch her interest the most.

History: Inu’s past is very dark and troubled. She was taken from her home by force at an early age, her parents murdered in the process, and raised by humans who only took her in as an experiment. She was originally full wolf but through experiments with gene slicing she obtained a more demonic human wolf-like form. During a field test of her abilities she went into berserk mode and killed everyone on site and escaped the city of Galloway where she was being kept. There was one other, a close friend, that escaped before her and now she seeks to find him.

Relationships:
Suto - He is basically her creator. All that she has become is because of him. She is very very frightened of him and will do whatever he says because of this fear.

Hitsu - In a way Hitsu is like her security blanket. Though the girl can offer her no real protection from danger she would be the first person that Mitsu would run to out of fear. Because of this bond Mitsu is fiercely loyal to her friend but it has yet to be tested.

Yuki - Yuki comes off gruff and a little scary at times but Mitsu knows that his heart is in the right place.

Neko - He is the hardest one for Mitsu to figure out. Though he wants to be apart of the group at the same time he doesn't. He's friendly and standoffish, caring and selfish. He seems to care about her well-being as much as everyone else but his priorities seem a little....off

Poke - Fun, loud, and enjoyable. Mitsu had never met an aquatic creature before so Poke was an enthralling person to be around.

Riyo - When they first met Mitsu felt a bond with this person that seemed as lost in the world as she was...though Riyo was obviously more in tune with it to survive. Even after Riyo's mental state shifted Mitsu hasn't lost sight of that innocent side of her and views her as a dear friend though blissfully unaware of the danger.

Blade - Still very new to the group but Mitsu seems to view him as a part of their mismatched family. He seems very friendly and helpful.

Atticus - She doesn't socialize with Atticus much though he seems to keep in company with Riyo for the most part...despite how they fight. Its a little confusing.

Tobi - The shiba is like her side kick. Together they have a unspoken language of comfort and trust though that could possibly be the canine in her.

Eye type: Narrowed, very cat-like
Hair color: Midnight Black
Hair Style: Short cut, choppy / messy spikes
Special Markings / features: cat like eyes, claws, fangs, slightly pointed ears, also has a black forked tail on occasion if he chooses to show it 8D
Physical Flaws: no
Weakness(es):
He takes things too far a lot of the time not knowing when to draw the line and often lands himself in some serious trouble.

He has a weakness for woman, he can't resist a pretty face and tears will damn near cripple him.

An acute fear of babies and small children.

He is also horrible at defending himself often allowing his regenerative ability take care of the damage but if he is ever serious injured he is very much a baby about it.

Strengths:
Thanks to his demon heritage not only can he regenerate fairly quickly from light wounds but he has a decent amount of dark magic and other odd powers though they are weak. Within short distances he can manipulate minds, and use hypnosis. He has a general amount of shape-shifting abilities though it drains his energy quickly leaving him very weak. His oddest ability among them all is his ability to steal a person's voice with a kiss. "Cat got your tongue?" He is also skilled with making medicines from plants.

General Demeanor: Confident, cocky. He is like a shell of charm and good looks wrapped around a creamy center of arrogant A-hole.
Hobbies: Likes to cook, but tries to keep that as secret as possible
Career: A hunter and apothecary for his tribe
Weapon of choice: Daggers and knives
Magical Abilities: yes, mostly dark magic but he dabbles a little in fire and ice too though they are not as strong
Colors of choice: red, black, silver/gray
Clothing style: He likes form fitting clothes to show off his chest and abs to the ladies. Usually sleeveless because sleeves only get in the way. Often he will wear a number of belts along his hips and on his legs to accommodate his knives.

History: Neko has lived in Yasha’s forest all his life. It wasn't until he was much older that he found a tribe to take him in and since has helped them in fending off humans, bringing back food, and fashioning medicines. He is a bit of a prankster and likes to torment humans, other creatures, and even members of his own tribe but he tries to keep himself in check though its a struggle.

Relationships:
Suto - Doesn't know him yet really other than he is someone to hate.

Hitsu - His first real crush. Though he met Hitsu when she was very young this feeling of love grew over time as she grew older and for the first time he felt himself caring about someone other than himself

Yuki - In general he considers Yuki to be his buddy though he is prone to test the bonds of friendship fairly often. He likes to tease, torment, and throw the guy in awkward situations. In general, Yuki = fun time.

Poke - Very nice to look at but a little too headstrong for Neko's tastes.

Riyo - Feels an odd connection with Riyo that he likes but also scares him. Around her he feels he doesn't have to 'pretend' and can actually be himself which he hasn't been in years.

Blade - Seems to be an alright guy in Neko's mind. They had attempted a break in at one point though it didn't go as planned. The guy seemed to take being abandoned to his own devises pretty well but there is something about him that bothers Neko but he can't pin point what.

Mitsu Sees her as a mutt, but has grown to like her a little more than he did in the beginning. They had a bit of an accidental fling and alone time can be awkward between the two.

Shun Talked to him at the bar while he was plastered. Doesn't remember the event clearly but is certain without a doubt the b*****d poisoned him.

Atticus - Doesn't entirely trust the guy but he seems to be helpful from time to time.

Tobi - Does NOT like.

Complexion: very pale, this man has never seen the light of day

Eye type: Narrow with small Iris' and wears large round glasses

Hair Style: Short cut, spiky, total mess
Special Markings / features: None other than a very toothy grin
Physical Flaws: He has quiet a few scars from being attacked by his “patients” but its nothing that will slow him down
Weakness(es):
Can be quite irrational and quick to temper over little things.

Has an acute inability to write anything down with the same focus he shows his experiments. He likes to write in crayon, it is sloppy, messy, and often has doodles.

Has a very intense fetish (yes fetish) with pain but has a great fear of death.

Lapses into his own little world fairly often and can be very destructive with things and / or people.

Completely mentally unstable. He has conversations with a dead pet rabbit.

Strengths:
Very intelligent and strives for his goals despite how odd and unattainable they may be.

He knows the bodies nervous system inside and out. It's more of an art to him than a science. He knows just where to apply pressure for the most pain possible.

He is also very inventive, being able to formulate plans and devises on the fly.

General Demeanor: His general look consists of a man that is up to no good. His eyes are often narrowed as he focuses on his work but there is almost always a sinister smile on his face unless he’s angry.
Hobbies: His new and favorite hobby is experimenting with gene splicing. It makes him feel powerful to be able to create something, god-like. He wants to create the ultimate being by melding the most powerful races together and then stealing that power for himself.
Career: Founder, scientist and researcher at Suto Labs
Weapon of choice: Acupuncture needles and a gun when those fail XD;.
Magical Abilities: none (magic isn’t very scientific, its outside his area of understanding but he desperately tries to understand how it works within the body)
Colors of choice: white, black, and blood red
Clothing style: Often seen in a white lab coat completely unbuttoned. Underneath is a black dress shirt partially unbuttoned with the appearance of its never been ironed, and a very loose red tie that dangles about his neck. He wears your run of the mill black dress pants and black dress shoes but just like his shirt they are very unkempt, he doesn’t have time for proper laundry habits. On his face sits large round shaped glasses, which aren’t by any means functional, they are just there for looks.

Mitsu His pride and joy as far as experiments go. Not because she is the best, she is far from it, but because she was the first in a series of slices to survive. He has tried his best to nurture her mental state, make her stronger with alternate splicing, but could not work further since his 'daughter' escaped.

About me: lol hai guys. I'll keep this short and to the point so you don't have to read more than you need to. I'm a big fan of macabre art styles and the darker side of the arts. Gore? Love it. So don't be afraid to add a little imagery to any picture you desire to doodle of my characters (within the PG-13 rule of Gaia. emo ) Toothy grins and big shadows are awesome, but I do dig the cutesy wutsy stuff to a point as well.

Name: Riyo [No last name]
Age: 18
Race: Black Cat Demon
Height: 5'9"
Body Type: Slim/slender to the point where she looks slightly mal-nourished. Not very muscular.
Face Type: Thin and slightly long with a soft chin.
Complexion: Pale.
Eye color: Crimson red
Eye type: Narrow and cat-like.
Hair color: Dirty blonde
Hair Style: Straight with hair hanging over her left eye that goes down to her shoulder blades (or possibly a little longer, since many people have drawn her that way)
Special Markings / features: Black feline ears on either side of her head, a thin, yet long black cat tail, moderately long nails, and the fangs of a cat.
Physical Flaws: The number 13 in roman numerals carved into the back of her neck. Has the tendencies of a stigmata and will randomly bleed.
Weakness(es):

- A severe lack of self-control...
When Riyo feels the need to do something, she does it. Telling her that it's probably not a good idea isn't reason enough to make her stop. Unless you present her with a good reason and you do it quickly, physical force will be needed.

- Selfishness...
Riyo doesn't do things for other people to benefit them, half the time. It all comes back to how it will affect her. She's with people because they make her happy. She does things for people so, in turn, they won't grow to dislike her. She was starved for the good feelings people now provide in her younger years, and tries to make up for time lost.

-Social Awkwardness...
Not that she realizes just how socially awkward she really is. Ironically, being somewhat of an intellectual philosopher, she never learned the foot in mouth technique. Moreover, her people skills are... Well... To better phrase it, she doesn't really have any.

Strengths:

- Good at surviving...
Honestly, it's self-explanitory. If left alone to her own devices (which she has been in the past), she'll have virtually no problem fending for herself.

- Likes learning new things...
With an open mind much like a child, she's ready to absorb anything of interest.

General Demeanor: During quiet/peaceful times, Riyo's quicker to sit back and enjoy the roses than cause problems by herself. She's more than happy to mingle with the people she calls friends and have fun to the extent that her mind allows.

But during times of chaos, she'll become chameleon like and absorb into the color of her scene. Sort of like a time-bomb waiting to explode. Rationality is thrown to the wind
Hobbies: People and nature watching.
Career: Wanderer
Weapon of choice: Retractable claws and the bite of a carnivore.
Magical Abilities:

Dark magic - Riyo's powers are a little different from your everyday demon. It's a curse passed through the generations, though nothing more than a recessive trait with all but the first of her predecessors. All of her power is locked within her emotions. The more negativity she feels, the greater her power grows. It builds up like pressure in a pipe, and if not released properly, will just explode.

It takes the form of an oozy black miasma which, with a little effort, she can manipulate to her liking. Usually, it will form into little monsters with cat-shaped heads. (Example: [x]) She can only summon/control three of them at a time.

Her signature 'attack', if you can consider it that because it's very seldom used, is titled 'Return of the Black Cat'. Whether willingly or not, she's taken over by the black ooze that forms into a four-legged, hideous monstrosity. She has no control over what or who she attacks, and cannot keep the form for more than 15 minutes without sustaining damage to herself.

Colors of choice: Red and black.
Clothing style: While not incredibly picky, Riyo would rather wear something comfortable than fancy. And when she does wear clothes, it's usually something modest and covering. That's what clothes are for, right? Covering yourself? True to her nature, the usual attire is black. And dresses aren't something she lavishes in. (... But if you have a great idea for her in a dress, I don't think I'll object too heavily. LOL)

That being said, at the same time, she doesn't mind spending some time in just her skivvies (... Which are pink, by the way. It's an inside joke).


History: [Here is her backstory. I'd really like it if you read it, since it explains a lot of things. I tried to phrase it as interestingly as possible. ;o;]

Riyo was found in the woods by Hitsu, Yuki, Neko, and Inu completely alone and... Naked. In the beginning, she couldn't speak or really express what she was thinking, if anything. But as she traveled with the ever-growing group, she began to learn, and rather quickly... Having terrible nightmares in the meantime.

There was something very... Strange about her. And to a point, she could realize it. It was as if there were two Riyo's. A child... And a monster.

But it wasn't until she took a step down memory lane that all the pieces came together. One cold night when the party walked into an abandoned village, the monster bursted out with a vengence. It just so happened that the particular village they stepped foot in was the same in which Riyo's mother and everyone she knew were brutally murdered... By her.

However, instead of history repeating itself, the child and the monster somehow became one. And so, the Riyo everybody knows today was formed. The woman, if you will.

Relationships:

Hitsu - Riyo enjoys Hitsu's optimistic attitude and innocence, and is secretly a little envious of it. But Hitsu is so nice to her, she couldn't bring herself to say anything negative about her...

Yuki - Their relationship is... Rather awkward. Yuki will try to say something nice to Riyo and she'll end up taking it the completely wrong way, adding more strife between them. His heart is always in the right place, however, and Riyo is quick to forgive because of this.

Mitsu - Like Hitsu, Mitsu's innocence is something Riyo loves and hates about her... But Riyo also considers Mitsu a bit strange. She feels a small connection to her that she could never really pin down.

Neko - One of the few people she actually respects. She feels like they have a lot of common ground and enjoys talking to him.

Poke - At times, Riyo can't stand Poke. Their personalities will clash and fights break out, but they're still friends. I think.

Blade - He's a cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything.

Atticus - At the beginning, Riyo's relationship with Atticus was very stressful. She had expected him to save her when she was small, and he hated the fact that it was expected of him to befriend the person who would ultimately be his demise. They were complete opposites, but you know what they say about opposites.

Name: Atticus Rall
Age: 20 something. I keep changing his age so much I just don't know.
Race: Technically human/Raven.
Height: 6'3"
Body Type: Slim, not muscular at all.
Face Type: Somewhat long.
Complexion: Pale.
Eye color: Black
Eye type: Narrow
Hair color: Also Black
Hair Style: long black hair with bangs that curl under somewhat.
Special Markings / features: Raven wings that are too small for flight.
Physical Flaws: Hollow bones (cause he's a bird... Even though he can't fly. Bummer man)
Weakness(es):

- Can't take a hit very well...
He's a bit of a wuss when it comes to taking a punch. You would be too with hollow bird bones.

- No emotions...
Atticus is in a constant state of neutral. He doesn't laugh. He doesn't cry. He doesn't smile. He doesn't frown. This isn't to say he doesn't wish he could, but he's not saying anything about it. This also makes him somewhat insensitive to the problems of the people around him.

Strengths:
-Fast as a jackrabbit...
His weakness is also his strength somewhat. He may not be a weight lifter, but he can move with the swiftness of a bunny and the grace of a swan. That sounds pretty gay, doesn't it?

-Pass the syringe, please...
Along with being fast, he's somewhat proficient with small weapons. Being a doctor, he's got all the tools to kill somebody before they realize it... Like a ninja with a PhD in kicking your a**. (not really)


General Demeanor: Neutral, as stated before.
Hobbies: Sewing (that's right, he sews. Big deal.) and playing violin.
Career: Doctor
Weapon of choice: scalpel and syringe.
Magical Abilities: None that anyone knows of.



Colors of choice: Grayscale/monochrome. Maybe a dab of red.
Clothing style: Formal. Gloves, suit, tie. The whole shebang. He only dresses casual on a blue moon.

Relationships:

Riyo - Of course, this is the most conflicting. A very love-hate relationship. He hates her for most of the things she can't help, realizes this, and feels more pity towards her than anything. When she doesn't want his pity, he goes back to hating her. But there's this other thing he feels. A twinge of respect crossed with envy for her endearing will that hasn't broken after all those years alone. He wouldn't go so far as to say he's infatuated with her... HE wouldn't...

Hitsu - Atticus is a little more soft towards her than anyone else in the group. She has a very kind disposition and, in ways, reminds him of his Mother.

Yuki - Yuki doesn't trust Atticus. Atticus doesn't like Yuki. He doesn't say it, of course. But some times it doesn't take words to get a point across.

Mitsu - He's a little wary of her. She's a weird one, she is. But, at the same time, she doesn't bother him. So he does his best to just keep his mouth shut.

Neko - Another case of "you don't trust me, I don't like you."

Poke - Ugh. Loud and obnoxious.

Blade - Blade is alright. Atticus feels like he's in the same boat as Blade, considering that neither of them seem to be trusted in the group no matter what they do. It's probably because they don't have boobs or something. That's the only thing the other two seem to focus on, after all.

Not exactly a weakness, but dam well funny. She has a fast metabolism, and when exposed to alcohol will go under the influence very quickly. She is also the type to talk really loud and pick fights as well.

Hero complex
If her friends are in trouble, poke will jump into a fight in order to protect them to the best of her ability. This could be a problem if she's trying to protect them by putting herself between whatever is hurting them, for example a gun or knife.

Strengths:

Due to her fin heritage, poke is a excellent swimmer and can last underwater for long periods of time. She is very fast in the water. No she can't talk to fish. She's not that lame

General Demeanor: Poke loves to have a good laugh and also likes to make others laugh, as well as help them in times of need. Can be a bit of a ditz

History: poke used to live in a sea-side city that was still unaware that the war between peoples and animals had died down. She and a group of friends lived together until they began to show signs that they were half breeds, and most of them were taken away. Later on, poke began to develop signs as well, so she left the city to escape being caught and, to find out where her childhood friends had gone to.

flashforward to current day when she happened to cross yuki and the others, and decided to stick around so she could them out when she could.

Hair Style: It goes past his shoulder, but is normally tied back into a pony tail. Some of his hair hangs out around his eyes.
Special Markings / features: He has a tattoo of a dragon and a sword on his right upper arm.
Physical Flaws: He has a decent sized scar on his upper right chest area, below his collar bone. A few other smaller and less noticable scars are at various other places.
Weakness(es):

-Extremely vulnerable to dragonsbane;
A weakness he inherited from his family. While it wouldn't be as potent as it would to an actual dragon, it's pretty much like a severe allergy for him.

-Not a good shot;
Give him a ranged weapon (bow/gun) and he's more than likely to miss. Fairly decent chance he'll end up hitting an ally instead... Or hurting himself. No amount of practice is likely to make him improve either.

-Cold weather is bad;
Blade really doesn't handle the cold all too good. In a way, he's more susceptible to getting hypothermia than the average human. In any case, he doesn't function so well when things get really chilly.

-Closed in;
It takes quite a bit for him to open up about himself or about issues he might have. He tends to keep to himself, and while this makes him really good at keeping secrets, it can lead to problems where he really should get help or at least vent instead of keeping everything in. That said, he might not reveal things about himself, but he's more than willing to lend an ear if others need it.

-Timing?
Blade doesn't always have the greatest sense of timing when it comes to bringing things up or what to say. That or he ends up saying something odd or poorly worded.

Strengths:

- Thieving;
He's a thief, and a good one at that. Sure he has his off-days but for the most part he's able to get what he needs... as long as those needs are reasonable.

-High resistance to heat/flames;
Blade doesn't burn easily at all. His clothing has a weak enchantment which helps with this slightly but... that's more so to prevent embarrassing accidents from happening whenever he's messing around with fire magic.

- Hard to anger;
He's usually pretty laid back about things. A few things out there could set him off, but those sorts of situations don't come around often at all.

-Honor amongst thieves;
No really, he does have a sense of honor. He won't steal from the needy. He's generally honest (at least with those on good terms with him), and for those that manage to get close to, he's rather selfless. He's also not too keen on killing, but he is more than willing to do so if he feels it's necessary.

General Demeanor: As said before, he's usually laid back. He doesn't open up much to those around him, so he's fairly content on his own. He isn't a huge fan of human society as a whole though, having felt the effects of the stigma of being a 'low life' and having red eyes.
Career: Thief
Weapon of choice: A one-handed longsword, though he usually has a dagger as well.
Magical Abilities:

Fire magic - He doesn't know a great deal, but he's pretty good with what he does know. Namely, he uses fire magic to ignite things by touch, or to hurl fireballs.

Colors of choice: Black and red
Clothing style: Blade wears a black long coat, cargo pants, and long sleeved shirt. Along with that he has two belts; one to keep his pants up and the other for his sword. He often wears a pair of half-gloves, and has a necklace with a red crystal-like pendant. He also has two silver piercings in his left ear.

Generally speaking, he's usually fairly covered up. This is mostly because he tends to get cold easily and prefers to stay warm.

History: All that the others know is that he knows what it's like to lose loved ones and left to fend for himself.

And this is true. Though he doesn't remember a great deal of what happened, his parents were more or less slaughtered 13 years ago. He doesn't know who did it, and while it initially enraged and depressed him, he has come to terms with it over time. From time to time, it'll bother him, and he'll long for what he missed, but it doesn't happen all that often. Over the years, he learned to steal; finding that he actually loves the thrill of thievery, and managed to fend for himself.

Relationships:
As a whole, he's relatively distant from everyone. He feels he can relate with most of them to some extent. It's that feeling that kinda draws him towards them. Despite this, he feels as if he's an outsider to an extent... partly due to the fact that he's the only human (or at least closest to being a full human) in the group.

Hitsu - He feels she's a very sweet and innocent person.

Yuki - He's a little wary of Yuki, if only because he knows that the guy doesn't trust him all that much. To an extent, he feels a little bit of jealousy of the guy because he still has someone to look out for despite all the things he's been through.

Mitsu - He feels roughly the same about her as he does with Hitsu. Though, at some point she had mentioned he was a part of their family now. While he doesn't exactly agree that he is at this point, he did feel some gratitude of hearing it.

Neko - This is a little odd. The beginning with these two was a bit rough. Neko had ditched Blade during some issues with guards, causing him to get revenge by throwing a fireball at the guy's head. Though, Neko knows nothing of this revenge due to being drunk flat.. Anyway, he's at the point where he's willing to back up the guy and such, but there are some light trust issues.

Poke - She's a fiesty one from what he could tell. But he's been around her less than the others of the group.

Riyo - When they first met, Riyo had been like the other girls; very naive and innocent, though one with a very dark secret. With the two sides merged, he knows there's a fairly decent chance she won't go batshit insane on him unless he does something to invoke it. As he knows most of her origin than the others, he kinda relates to her the most so far.

Atticus - Blade feels Atticus is a little strange, but has nothing against the man.

Shun- They had a run-in in the past and they really don't get along too well.

Hanse - Only met him once and he doesn't really know what to think of the guy. But he is intrigued by the fact that Hanse is half dragon.

He... really doesn't feel enamored towards anyone (or vice versa) right now.. so..er... yeah.

Hair Style: Before he lost the eye, his hair was roughly shoulder-length and pretty messy. It's normally lightly spiked up now. Relatively short hair he has.

Physical Flaws: He has numerous scars around his body, some concentrated around his arms. Also he recently lost his left eye.
Weakness(es):

-Lydexia:
He's dyslexic. So reading can be confusing and or frustrating for him. This can be a problem if sent important notes about jobs or other things in general.

-Lightweight:
Shun can't drink much without getting drunk. And when he gets drunk... he's pretty plastered. Not really a good thing to be when trying to kill someone.

-What is trust?:
Highly distrusting of others with exceptions of two people. Earning his trust is definitely a feat.

-Blunt:
Generally speaking, he doesn't care if you think he's rude. Unless he feels it'd end up badly on his part or -really- feels obliged otherwise, he's probably not going to come off as being too nice.

-Grudge bearer:
Do something against him and he -will- remember it. And most likely, depending on how badly you offended him, he'll try to do something back.

Strengths:
-Works in the dark:
He does pretty well working in darkness. He's generally able to move silently and with the help of magic he can even see in the dimmest settings.

-Favor for favor:
Even if he doesn't trust you, if you do something good for him, he's fairly likely to return the favor in some shape or form. There are limits to this depending on how much he dislikes you.

-Horsemanship:
While not so much of a people person, he doesn't mind animals all that much. He's a pretty good rider, and he takes care of his faithful black stallion, Ryuujin.

General Demeanor: Moody; loner
Hobbies: Playing a guitar-like instrument... not that he really has any time to do it.
Career: Assassin
Weapon of choice: Twin daggers, though he often carries around an abundant supply of darts and small throwing blades.
Magical Abilities: Dark magic; A majority of spells in his repertoire require blood to be used as a catalyst... usually his own. So unless he happens to already be bleeding for whatever reason, he's fairly reluctant to use these spells.

A number of things he's able to do with this is... short range teleportation, creating an area of pitch blackness, healing (more blood he loses for this, the greater the healing power... possibly rarest spell he uses especially since it doesn't work on himself), and a sort of self beserker/buff type thingy. The only spell he knows that doesn't require blood is one that allows him to see in the dark.

Colors of choice: Black and gold.
Clothing style: Normally found in dark leather armor of sorts, with a dark brown or black cloak over it. On his head is a simple cloth headband, as well as an eyepatch over his left eye. Typically, his arms are fairly bare with the exception of a leather bracer over his right wrist/forearm. When working, he has a tendency to wear a mask over his lower face as well.

History: In short; Shun spent most of his childhood living with his mentor and best friend, who were both rat-people. There was another that trained with them, another human, but Shun and the others were eventually betrayed by the guy.

Recently his master had fallen gravely ill, causing him to drop his duties to go and visit. While he was there, conflict arose as the traitor from the past returned to try and finished what he attempted years ago. Though the traitor was killed, the master's life was lost.. as well as Shun's left eye. Detailed story on this part here

Relationships:
Suto - The man who hired him... not to kill the group but to kidnap them. Not exactly the usual job for Shun. He doesn't exactly like what goes on in Suto's lab, or even really like the guy all that much. But as an Assassin (or a hired kidnapper in this case), he feels it isn't his place to judge. He's getting paid after all.

Blade - Hates the guy. He messed up an assassination attempt in the past so now Shun is still holding a grudge about that.

Poke - He knows her best in the group, having successfully taken her to Suto's lab. For the most part, he just sees her as a part of his job and was keeping her with him after she escaped the labs as a means to locate the rest of the group. Having fought along side her several times (like against a town infested with zombies), and saved once or twice, he does have some respect for her.

Neko - Met him when the guy was drunk. Neko annoyed Shun enough that he decided to try and kill the guy instead of taking him in... so he poisoned his next drink.

First- Holy crap, I jumped on Deviant just to start looking, and this was on the front page. I was going to start looking for highly stylized art in my eyes, and this fit the bill.
Second- It's not the content persay, but rather the expressionism within it. I'm intrigued with the use of colors and strong focus.
To impress me, use a strong sense of contrast with colors to bring attention to smaller details, show a technical understanding of the medium you choose to work with, and be yourself.
