Is that love for Beef or for Jazz? I wouldn't want to tell Beef he was getting some love and then later have to tell him, "Hey, man, that wasn't for you, I need to take that back," and have him say 'man that a hell of sucks' to me.

Ugggghhhhh... gonk Just came back from a long, hard day at work today...

Today we had to remove old kitchen cabinets in a recently-vacated apartment. We had already removed the old top cabinets, but before we could remove the old bottom ones, we had to install new top cabinets using the old bottom ones as support to stand the top cabinets. Also, tomorrow is when the sub-contractors are scheduled to replace the linoleum floor in the kitchen so we had to do our job before tomorrow...

Unfortunately, there were a lot of mishaps here and there, had to do some heavy-a** lifting to make sure the cabinets were perfectly positioned before being screwed to the wall, and it was taking much longer than expected. To top it off, I worked overtime without extra pay...

Eventually, we got the new top cabinets up so we finally got to remove the shitty old bottom cabinets to prepare the floor for tomorrow's new linoleum...

Moral of today's story: remodeling kitchens is a pain in the a**... stressed

Seriously, I don't think there'd be an insurance company would cover us for miles if I went into that business XD

Yeah...I guess you're right that I got a durable body. whee

The kinda manual labor I do isn't exactly that hard. Being a superintendant's assistant usually involves cleaning up apartments and repairing a few simple things, mostly leaks. It's only once in a while do we replace stuff like cabinets, toilets, vanities, faucets, etc. in vacant apartments that still have old s**t.

Some jobs are just plain tricky. But with every job there's always a trick to everything. Perhaps the quickest way to install cabinets is to assemble all the pieces on the floor with clamps and screws before lifting the whole thing up and holding it against the wall and screwing it on.

The problem was that we placed one of the cabinets on the wrong side... As soon as we realized that, we had to practically start everything all over again, except this time, because we were in a hurry, we had to install them the hard way: directly on the walls...and that requires a lot more heavy lifting than through the other methid...

Well, gotta get to work again. All we have left to do in that apartment now is to just clean everything up. The sub-contractors will take care of the rest.

BTW, Jazz, thanks for pointing out the positive in everything I go through. Really boosts my self-esteem. ^_^
