Rules
Rules and Disclaimer for Destiny's 2008 Art Contest
First off I would like to thank you all for entering this contest, as I know it will not be an easy one. Thanks to my specific instructions I know many may have some questions and I beg you to please ask me no matter how insignificant you may believe them to be. My Email address is XDestinyKnightsX@aol.com and my AIM screen name is XxTidusGirlxX. Now for the rules.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get your name out in the world as an illustrator. All work submitted into the contest will be considered a donation and no monetary rewards will be given. (Other than the Gaia related prize) No picture submitted is guaranteed to be used as cover art however all work submitted shall be put into an illustration book I will be publishing shortly after the release of the first book. If the launch of the book goes well and sales permit we will be releasing the rest of the series for a total of 5 books and the illustration book chances are high that we will be using the same artist for all 5 books.
The rules are simple. All pictures must either be of a specific predetermined scene or of one or more of my characters (listed in the next post). My characters are copyrighted so do not use their likeness for anything aside from this contest or legal action will be taken. Everyone entering must send me either his or her penname or real name so I may issue proper credit to the artist. There is no size limit but all pictures must be entered by the deadline or they will be disqualified. Artists are free to enter as many pictures as they like but one picture can not win more than one prize.
Thank you all for your time and I hope to hear from you during this event.
Sincerely,
Sabin and Destiny
What is expected:
What I want is pretty simple. I need concept art for the covers of my 5 books. in this part of the contest I am going to have to be very picky when it comes to what is needed on the picture.
As for the second part of this contest, which is much more flexible, I am collecting illustrations based on events from my book or just pictures of the characters in various positions.
A list of what I need for the book cover and the secenes I am selecting can be found by following this link :
------SCENE SELECTION------
Like I said before. if you are doing a pic for the cover, you must follow the rules exactly. if you are doing a pic for the illustraion book, you have a world of freedome. use your talent as best you can. this is a great oppertunity.
