After a long long time I finally decided to host a new art auction. Since it's most likely a one in a hundred (Gaian) years event, let's celebrate it together 4laugh

What I need is inspiration - be it your original character, your avatar or a fanart wish, I'll draw it!
You're bidding for a simple full-body OR detailed half-body, tradigitally coloured picture.
I'm willing and able to draw nearly everything, but I reserve my right to refuse a request - or to negotiate (this refers especially to mature/political/controversal content). If in doubt please feel free to ask me before bidding!

Any tips on shading clothes? D8

Shading clothes... uhh... that's a huuuge topic, I guess.
If you're going for anime (cel) style or that semi-anime style it's just important to imagine clearly where the light is coming from and where the shadows (and which shadows) should be put in.
I also noticed that some artists rarely use shadows at all, but make their characters 3-dimensional through their outlines.
A lot of people working in manga style also highlight the contrast between form shadow (smooth gradients) and cast shadow (hard edges).
But if you're going for realistic shadowing... *wow* I guess that topic is nearly bottomless. There's colour, then there's material (and their specific reflectory behaviour) ...
Shading folds and loose clothes and their interaction with gravity is also a specific problem.

Do you have any specific question? (like how to draw folds or how to make something look like metal) Sorry, I'm not so good with general explanations sweatdrop
