Super Genius

Few characters are as classic as Kal-El . . . Superman. Introduced to the world in 1938, it wouldn't be long (1941) before Fleischer Studios would bring the character to the big screen in the form of animated serials. Soon after, the character was picked up by Famous Studios, for another series of movie shorts.

Of course, this was only the beginning. Though animation wouldn't see the Kryptonian for some time, obvious parodies such as Mighty Mouse and Underdog would take up the reins.

It was about 1966 when Superman would be animated into a regular television series, and there aren't too many people who haven't seen the SuperFriends ( xp ). But one of the best Superman series would come in 1996. A series similar to (though not as dark as) Bruce Timm's Batman: Animated series was released. These two forming the basis of the DCAU, which continues to this very day (albeit mostly through animated movies, since the end of JLU. Most recently, Superman/Doomsday).

He's also shown to have some small role in the new Legion of Superheroes cartoon, or so I've heard wink

So. Which of the Man of Steel's cartoons are you most partial to, if any at alll?
Fleischer studios. It's just so damn PRETTY! whee

. . . If you say so. That's pretty much a matter of personal taste. Unless you start getting into things like being stronger, faster, smarter, etc.

And even then, I'm not going to tell you who to like better.

So, I picked up Superman/Doomsday. Mercy was pretty awesome. The fight between Kal-El and Doomsday was cool. I'm not really crazy about most of the new voices . . . Clancy Brown just worked as Lex, I think.
Also not too crazy about the last half of the movie. Still, it wasn't too bad.
I haven't sean any animated Superman movies or shows but I have read one comic about Superman and Batman
STF JOO SUPERMAN >OOOOO

YAYAYAYAYAY BATMAN <3
The 1996 ones I guess, the Parisite? ones were the best in my opinion.

Wow... truer words never spoken.

But all in all, it was a fairly good movie.

As for my favorite Supes? I'd go with either Superfriends era (he pushed the planet back into orbit!!!!) or the Justice League Unlimited version.

For some reason, Majin Buu always made me think of Parasite. He's definitely someone Kal has difficulty with.

I thought it was a shame that Lex killed Mercy the way he did. I mean . . . it wasn't really surprising, but she was so cool this time around. Even compared to her older appearances heart

Yeah, I always considered the DCAU Superman (in his show, guest roles on Batman's as well as Justice League (normal and Unlimited)) pretty much the best Animated Superman, pretty much capturing the best of Supes without all the stuff that the comic book version was suffering from at the time (*cough* Electric Blue and Red Supes *cough*) not to mention making all of his cast interesting and otherwise admirable: Clancy Brown (like SO many of the voice actors that just fit perfectly with their characters in all the DCAU shows) was essentially the Luthor the show needed (cruel, clever, and catalyst for massive "crisises" wink and now voices the Luthor of the Batman (the new one) cartoon; and I agree with Parasite. I just caught the Parasite origin ep (I know this is part of the topic elsewhere, but Toon Disney does serve some purpose now, what with re showing the old Batman and Superman 'toons) and I definitely thought they did a much better job with him than the one in the comics (who I may remind, is dead and now has two twin "children" running around).
I haven't watched the cartoons but I seen the movie and I watch Smallville
