Rid shrugged at her words, pulling his waterskin from his haversack to take a quick swig before returning it to the handy container. "Huh... If it's that, you may want to follow it," he would say, looking onward still. Nivellas would soon come into view; an enormous castle surrounded by a vast city with bustling marketplaces and a diverse population to fill numerous residential districts...

Rid nodded slightly when she mentioned his ancestry and again about being a wanderer, but shook it when she offered the water. Reaching into the backpack that was strapped to the back of his waist, he replied "No thanks, I have my own. But I understand the feeling of wandering. Knowing what you are is of little consequence when you have no family or parents. The orphanage could only assume that my parents didn't want me; probably because of the prominence of my demonic traits. I don't blame them. A lot of humans are intolerant of beings like me..." He then paused and looked down at the ground. "The demon blood was probably dormant in either of them... so they probably didn't want to be ashamed for having given birth to me," he said, pausing slightly before chuckling and giving a smirk. "Pathetic humans." He then lifted his head to look forward. "I'm glad I got that damned demon's blood. It's what makes me strong. No human could possibly match my ferocity," he said, baring his fangs with a wide grin and flipping his sword around by his side before dropping it back onto his shoulder with a loud clang as the blunt metals collided and reverberated. "You saw it for yourself," he then added before looking back to her. "So what about you? Where does your wandering usually take you," he asked, still grinning as they continued to walk along.

Rid looked down at her hand as she drew it away once more, turning his head to look away and off into the distance for a moment afterwards. He then sighed and looked up toward the sky, slipping his left hand into his right pocket as he continued to walk along, standing tall with his sword flung over his shoulder, clanking lightly against his plate armor, which also added slightly to the noise, though, overall, it was relatively quiet for the heavy, full coverage kind of armor that it was. "A tiefling is a humanoid whose bloodline was, at some point, tainted by fiendish ancestry. In my case, the ancestor was a demon, which is why I can seem so barbarous at times."

Rid turned his head to look to her with a smile as he introduced himself in response to her question. "Rid. Rid Aetharin. Demonic tiefling. Warrior. Mercenary. I am all of these things. Thus, battle comes naturally to me, though I have trained hard to master it," he said, holding her hand with his thumb rubbing against the soft skin on the backside of her hand. His was so rough in comparison, but he said nothing about why he continued to hold her hand as he continued to walk alongside her down the road toward Nivellas. "As for your sword, you can probably still sell it for scrap or something at a blacksmith when you buy your new sword."

Rid smiled as he pulled Fia up to her feet and looked curiously down at her blade as she inspected it. Noticing the crack, Rid looked down at the blade to notice that it had been cracked quite severely by his sundering blow from earlier. "Looks like the first thing we should do is get that fixed, no?" Rid would grin, reaching to grab her right hand within his own left before turning around. As he did, he would point the blade that he held over his right shoulder out and away from her. "Come with me," he would say, looking back over his left shoulder at her with a smile as he began to walk.

Rid would have caught her tongue when it pierced his lips, flicking it before snipping at her lip as she moved back, maintaining the pressure of his body against her own and the distance between their eyes. Then, as she spoke, an expression of curiosity began to form on his face as he lifted a brow in speculation at what she had to say. But as she finished, he would begin to smile and slowly stand up, taking his right arm from around her and throwing the back of his falchion over his shoulder once more. Looking down at her, his left foot would step back and stand tall as he looked down upon her. "Fia, huh?" He paused, then chuckled slightly, looking down at her with a warm and proud smile that was hardly conceivable on such a powerful, demonic being; it was almost too human for his character. But he continued. "I like you. You're different," he said, reaching his left hand down to her, extending his arm for her to take with the palm of his hand facing upward. "If I can't take your affections, then I'll earn them," he would say, a fanged smirk curving his lips as an intense fire of determination burned in his eyes. Now, this was more like a demon.

Rid, combing his fingers of his left hand gently through her hair, would look down at her with a grin as she lowered her head and spoke so innocently. Then, to answer her, he began to speak in a tone that was far softer than before; gentle and caring rather than boastful and mischievous."I mean... that from now on..." He paused, his left hand reaching to grab the roots of her hair on the back of her head, pulling slowly but firmly back upon them to force her to gaze into his eyes; his red hues but centimeters away from her own eyes. "You belong to me and no one else. You will prioritize my desires before anything else, including your very life. You will do as I say and hang on my every word. And you will show me respect and admiration unmatched in comparison to anyone else. You are my slave and also my comrade. Serve me well, and you will not regret it. Now... speak your name and pledge your loyalty to me," he would command her. His expression was stern and his grip was strong as he held her head in place by the roots of her hair and stared piercingly into her eyes while his right hand would wrap behind her back and hug her body in tightly against his, pressing their chests together as his nose would rub passed her own; their lips hardly separated by a single inch.

Rid would stare down at her with a stern gaze, pulling his blade slowly away from her neck as she began to press against it, making sure that she would not wound herself beyond a minor slice of the skin. Whipping his blade around above his head, he would stop it out to his right side, his right hand gripping the handle and his palm suddenly stopping the hilt, causing the small amount of blood to completely shake off. Then, resting the back of the blade down over his right shoulder, he would kneel down over her with his left knee planted in the ground by her right hip. Reaching his left hand onto her jaw line, he would tilt her head back and gently lick the blood off of her throat before gliding his nose softly up behind her ear and whispering... "You, of course."

Rid, immediate noticing her plunge backwards, adjusted his stance once more with his left led driving forward toward her, passing by her right side slightly while he pulled back on the sword to bring its hilt back in toward the right side of his chest. Normally, this would not stop such a heavy sword, but because of the adjustment to his stance, he was able to; not because he pulled the sword back, but because he moved in toward the sword as well. And with this loaded posture, Rid would also be in position, with the tip of his blade pointed directly at her throat, both arms loaded to make a powerful two-handed stab with the potential to drive it further by drilling into it with his right hip; something that would easily kill her if he had unleashed it. But there, he stopped, letting out a long breath as the rage faded from his eyes and his muscles became slightly less tense. "Sorry... you okay," he asked her, his deep voice echoing over the length of his falchion.

Rid, upon seeing her flip over him, would wring out the handle of his sword, slowing its momentum to a halt as he turned his body. While his right foot had been forward upon the cancelled slash, turning to his left to face the opposite direction would reverse this and his left foot would shift outward to widen and reestablish his stance while, for the sake of agility, his right knee would lower into a spring load, deepening his stance further. By the time she had gotten close to him, his sword would already be in motion, swinging from behind his right hip to strike the length up his sword up into her incoming attack, utilizing the length of his blade to both impact and parry her blow as well as make a shallow slash at her forehead. "GRAAAHHHH!!!!" The barbarian yelled if fury as he swung; a side-effect of an apparent increase in both speed and power.

Come by again
