I think it is silly that people lump all anime into one; I mean they all say "I like anime," or "I don't like anime" instead of looking at the individuals.
Did you know that I like movies? I like music. I like television shows.
Once someone has an opinion on something, no one is going to change their mind, but if they had no opinion in the first place, it can be shaped. In other words once someone thinks all anime sucks they aren't going to change their mind and we should let them be.
I really can't stand people making general statements, wheather it is a type of media I consume or not but most people aren't going to change their minds.
I can certainly accept that any one person has a certain opinion but when large percent share some ideas I can't undertand. For example I could understand if about a third of Americans didn't want to watch foriegn films but when almost all of them don't it baffles me.
So, you see, it bothers me that so many people "hate" anime, when we are talking about indivual people that I know, of course I will accept it.

Big shiny eyes and huge disproportional mouths and wild bodies does not 'anime' make. Nor do any of the other stereotypes.
The genre is so vast that there is no way to say that it is 'good' or 'bad' or anything in between, without sampling a little of each style: like music or movies or any kind of art.
You get Pokemon. And you get Wolf's Rain.
You get Trigun. And you get Paradise Kiss.
There is simply no comparison between them. Maybe neither one is 'better' or 'worse' than the other (Although I vastly prefer Wolf's Rain over Pokemon!) ; they're just different.
Sorry for the babbling; in short ,Iagree. n_n
