I started my own charity on gaia, so I have been hanging out in the charity forum a lot lately. I always like to check out other charities to see what they are up to, to get ideas on how to make mine more helpful or look a little better. But, lately, the only charities I have seen look like they were just thrown together in about 5 minutes, and they look like they don't have enough gold to give anyone. I mean, it's great that you want to help people and all, but I think it should have a little bit more effort put into it. You need the gold to donate to people. And I don't mean 100-200 gold donations... I could get that much myself in about 5 minutes. Make the donations worth their time. Also, make the thread look organized and appealing. If you just want to give stuff away for a couple of days, that's fine, but if you want a long-standing, popular charity, it has to be a thread with room to grow. Don't be afraid to reserve the whole first page... eventually, if your charity becomes popular, you will need those extra first page posts.
That's about all I can write at the moment... I need sleep. razz
