announced that it has acquired the residential and commercial plumbing
and HVAC business assets of Van Sant, Inc. and VSI Commercial, Inc.,
both based in Mt. Airy, Maryland.
The purchase will allow BGE HOME to continue the extension of its
residential service territory into Frederick, Howard and Montgomery
counties. In addition, Van Sant's commercial operations will enhance BGE
HOME's commercial team (Constellation Building Systems). BGE HOME's
recently opened Burtonsville office currently serves residential
customers in Montgomery and Prince George's counties.
"Van Sant's services complement ours and provide an opportunity to
better serve customers in western and central Maryland, as well as
differentiate our electricity and natural gas offerings," said Kevin
Klages, president and CEO of BGE HOME. "We are looking forward to
