"Are we there yet?" Kloe asked again for the millionth time.
"No but we will be there soon." Earnest said with his whole right sleeve soaked.
"But I'm tired.." Kloe said in a whinny voice.
"Well if you're so tired, just stop now and meet us at the Inn when you get into town." Earnest said as he saw the top of a building through a small opening in the top of the trees.
"Well I will then, you said it wasn't far from here, just umm... keep going straight from here right?" Kloe stopped and sat down on the ground.
"Yeah keep going straight." Earnest kept walking his legs crying out in pain but he continued to walk. He reached the town of Stratenburg after about fifteen minutes of walking from where Kloe had stopped and rested. At the sight of the open gates he started to run, his legs about to give out on him. He stopped and asked someone where a doctor might be. The person pointed down the pebble stoned road to a small house. He ran down the road and knocked on the door.
The door opened. "Yes may I help you?" A Old man said.
"Yes, are you the Doctor?" Earnest asked.
"Why yes I am come in, come in." The Old man replied. "So what do we have here?"
"Well see she fell down a hole in the woods and she said her ankle hurt a lot, I checked it out by putting my hand on her ankle and pressing lightly on it. She said it hurt more so I put her on my back and carried her here." Earnest said with Nina still on his back.
"Oh I see, just set her down on the table there, I'll be with you in just a minute." The Old man said.
Earnest set Nina down on the table and she slowly woke up. "Where are we?" Nina asked.
"We are at the Doctor's in Stratenburg Nina." Earnest said as he fell backwards and landed in a seat. He wiped the sweat off of his forehead and smiled.
"Didn't you stop to take a rest while carrying me here?" Nina asked.
"No..." Earnest said and looked down at his knees shaking.
"Aww...." Nina just looked at him as his eyes shut.
"Well now lets see here." The Old man came back into the room. "What happened to him?"
"He is exhausted from carrying me for probably six or seven hours without stopping." Nina turned and looked at the doctor.
"Oh I see, he is very brave or has a lot of spirit in him to do such a thing." The Old man said. "So which ankle is the one that hurts?"
"My right ankle." Nina pointed to it.
The Old man touched her ankle and looked at it closely and then applied some pressure to it. "Hmm.... I think your ankle is just out of place, just stay still and let me pop it back into place. This might hurt." The Old man yanked on her foot and you heard her ankle snap back into place, it sounded like a really loud POP.
Nina's eyes where shut and tears flowing down her cheeks, she didn't have a sound but her grip on the table was so tight you couldn't pull her off. The doctor took off her shoe and her sock and wrapped her ankle in a ace bandage to give it some support while it heals. he put her sock and shoe back on. "Now stay off of your ankle for a week.
Nina nodded and then slid her legs off the table and got down applying all her weight on her left foot. She tapped Earnest's shoulder. "Hey, get up we should go get a room at the Inn, and also where is Kloe?"
Kloe ran out of the forest. "Ahh...!!! Get off! Get off!!" She was swinging above her head. where a bat was tangled in her hair. The grabbed the bat and pulled it out of her hair and threw it on the ground and continued to run into town. She saw the Inn and walked in threw the door.
Earnest got up out of the chair. "Should I carry you or do you want to lean on me for support instead?"
"I'll just lean on you, you've carried me long enough for today." She smiled and put her arm around his neck as he bent down a little and put his arm under her arm and around her back. They walked out of the doctor's house and towards the Inn where they saw Kloe walk in through the door of the Inn.
"Umm... has a Earnest and a Nina get a room here yet?" Kloe asked the person at the front desk.
The person checked her guest book. "No I'm sorry, no one by either of those names have got a room."
"Oh thank you." Kloe said and turned around.
Nina and Earnest walked opened the door to the Inn and walked in. "Kloe you beat us to the Inn." Earnest said while laughing. "Well did you get a room?"
"How was I suppose to know to get a room, I thought you were going to." Kloe sighed.
Earnest walked up to the front desk with Nina. "Can we have two rooms please?"
"Why of course, you can take room's 6 and 7, here are your keys." The person handed him the keys.
"You two can take room six and I'll have room seven." Earnest picked Nina up and walked up the stairs to room six. He put the key in and unlocked it, he walked in and set her down on one of the beds.
"You didn't have to carry me up here..." Nina said with a soft voice.
"Well it was easier than if we would have walked up together and it was faster so don't worry about it, just rest your ankle." Earnest smiled as he walked out of the room and into his.
Kloe took the key out of their door and walked in closing the door behind her. "I think he likes you..." Kloe giggled.
"No he is just very nice." Nina said as she closed her eyes thinking.
"What ever you say." Kloe rolled over and fell asleep.
Earnest laid down and looked up at the ceiling and sighed, shortly after he to fell asleep. If you find this you see the Dream! To Be Continued....
