2015 Honda CR-V still a winner - Burlington Cars
There are more chrome accents, and the entire grille and headlight ensemble is now outlined with chrome. A new direct injection 2.4-liter engine is now coupled to a continuously variable transmission replacing the outgoing 5-speed automatic. Honda has also entirely replaced its array of 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, again provide designs that dress up the car and make it look a bit more elegant and upscale.. A number of styling upgrades give it a slightly more upscale look, eliminating some of the grim utility look of its predecessor.

The 2015 CR-V's interior improvements are more substantial than its exterior styling tweaks. A chrome "moustache" dips under the rear window for a dressier look, replacing the former black plastic panel. Functional air vents at the rear of this console allow second-row passengers to feel the effects of heated or cooled cabin air much quicker. These changes combine with the engine's increased torque, a revised brake system and the wider wheels mentioned above to make the CR-V even more fun to drive.

Even though the Honda CR-V has been a top compact crossovers in a fiercly competitive segment for almost a decade, it has been significantly updated for 2015, something that should only add to its appeal. Honda's dual display screen system remains, with a new 7-inch touchscreen just above the climate controls and a 5-inch (non-touch) screen in the upper dash.

CR-V prices start at $23,445 and top out at $32,895

The new grille uses the new Honda design first seen on the 2015 Fit, focused on a larger central horizontal bar in glossy black. The ride quality is everyday firm but never harsh over impacts.

Honda has enhanced the 2015 CR-V's driving dynamics with new spring and shock settings and upgraded suspension arms. Those two changes increase fuel economy 3 mpg over last year's model to an impressive 29 mpg combined with front-wheel drive, or 28 mpg combined if you add the Real Time AWD system.

Honda has picked the 2015 CR-V to debut its new "Honda Sensing" package of driver assistance technologies. This is in contrast to most CVTs, which just pick the engine's most efficient RPM and hold it there -- in a mind-numbing drone -- while the CVT slowly changes http://www.slideshare.net/gutturaljournal93

Taillight shape remains the same, but the bulbs are now LEDs instead. Under full throttle, Honda allows the CR-V's engine to slowly rev up as the vehicle accelerates. You will likely see this array of driver aids across the entire Honda model line in the next few years, but for now only the CR-V combines adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, LaneWatch, forward collision warning and Honda's Collision Mitigation Braking System into one package (available on Touring models).

The CR-V's new center console and armrest features a single, elevated pad instead of the previous model's fold-down armrest. The vehicle feels planted in its lane with decent self-centering for confident highway cruising. An increase in material quality over the previous CR-V is immediately apparent, with seating, dash and door panel surfaces offering a richer, less reflective texture. The daytime running lights are LEDs and the lower bumper and front fascia receive similar styling upgrades.

For 2015, Honda also replaced the CR-V's drivetrain
