I'm trying to figure out when it became wrong to be yourself, to label yourself however you want, and to listen to whatever you want. I've been lurking in the Lifestyle Discussion and saw some rather shocking things. First it was some hipster telling us to listen to indie music because mainstream is bad. Yet this girl listed Kings of Leon and The Black Keys as indie when they are clearly mainstream. That was very ignorant of her. Then she criticised other people's taste in music telling them it's bad. Umm...I thought we could like whatever we want. Second, some guy was saying that labeling yourself anything other than heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual is redundant. He said that anything falls under one of the three. I don't see how. Where would being asexual or demisexual fall? Because what if the person you are attracted to because of emotional ties is female and you are female yourself, then you find yourself attracted to a male(I'm refering to being demisexual). Where does that fall exactly? And I identify myself as bihomosexual and biheteroromantic. Meaning I'm sexually attracted to both genders but more so girls and romantic attracted to both genders but more so guys. I find it easier to just say bihomosexual and biheteroromantic than explain it. I don't get why people are suddenly attacking others like this. I've never seen this sort of thing before and I'm in a Bible Belt country high school. It doesn't make sense. People should be able to like whatever or whomever they want without being criticized by others.
