Chapter 1: What the wind tells me
“What are you doing out here so late, Angel?” A voice asked from the entrance of the mansions garden “Aren’t you afraid of catching a cold?” Stefan asked showing himself as the voice as he drifted from the shadows and into the moonlight. “I was listening to the wind…” Angel answered, her long pale blonde hair waving in the soft but strong wind. “And what did it say?” Stefan chuckled “It’s not funny!” The usually quiet girl snapped. “The wind is warning me… it’s saying that something terrible is going to happen…” Angel finished in a soft whispered “When is it coming?” Stefan questioned gaining sudden interest. Angel looked down with stress. “It doesn’t know. But it warned me that no one is what they seem.” She answered looking at the moon, her blue eyes glistening in its rather dim light. “Why don’t we head inside?” Stefan suggested, extending his hand to the beautiful girl. “Very well then.” Angel answered walking past Stefan and reaching the glass doors to the mansion know as Crystal Hill. Stefan sighed and followed the girl into the building shutting the doors for the night.
“Angel… may I please come in?” A quiet voice asked from the doorway “You may.” Angel answered opening the dark curtains letting the morning sun pour into the room. A girl with whitish-silver hair entered. She was shorter than Angel as she stood next to her, her brilliant grey eyes gazing upon the older girl. “Can I help you Snow?” Angel questioned looking out at the swiftly moving ocean. “Angel… what did the wind tell you last night?” Snow asked politely looking at her feet. “Since when did you want to know about wind speakers?” Angel asked looking down at the girl, concerned. “Since Sothe left… I’ve been teaching myself to listen to the wind.” She said looking through the crystal window, at the shoreline. “I noticed you haven’t been the same lately. But Sothe will be back in just two more days.” Angel said smiling at the younger girl. “What did the wind tell you?” Snow asked again staying persistent. “Don’t worry about it Sn-…” “Just tell me!” Snow snapped with frustration trying not to yell. “It told me something terrible is going to happen…” Angel whispered. “When?” “No one knows…” Angel said walking over to her bedroom door. “Are you coming?” she asked. “I suppose.” Snow answered walking down stairs following Angel to the dinning room.
“Did you sleep well?” Angel asked, grabbing an apple and journal off the table. “You know I haven’t slept since Sothe left.” Snow answered opening a desk cabinet and pulling out a sketch pad in the next room. “What about you?” “It took a long while to fall asleep, but all in good time.” “Good morning, love.” Damion said to Angel in his high British accent. “Good morning.” Angel answered hugging Damion. “I’ll be in the garden.” Snow sighed walking out the doors leading to the back yard and garden.
“Is Snow alright?” Damion asked in concern. “She hasn’t slept since Sothe and Shadow left, so she’s been feeding off her powers.” Angel replied. “Only two more days ‘till the poor girl can actually get some sleep.” Damion commented sitting at the table looking through letters. “I fear for her though.” Angel said watching Damion “I do too, love. But you and I both know she has everlasting strength.” “I just don’t want her to over work herself.” Angel answered worriedly. “She’s a strong girl, Angel. I’m sure she’ll be fine.” Damion said trying to reassure her. “She’ll be happy to see Sothe again.” Angel whispered. “And I’m sure Stefan will be happy to see Shadow again.” Damion followed.
Angel walked over to the door and gazed through the thin glass. She spotted Snow in a Sakura tree and below the tree laid Ice, her pure white tiger. Snow was drawing in the same sketch book that she’s had for years “Have you ever wondered what’s in that book Snow has?” Angel asked curiously. “I’m not one to be curious of one’s belongings, love. But with the way she treats it, it must be like her life to her.” Damion said looking up. “Two more days is going to take forever.” Angel sighed “Like you always say: All in good time, love.” Damion said proceeding with his work “I just have a feeling two days is going to seem like forever…” Angel whispered to herself.
