Okay, so I read this manga awhile back called Aqua Knight, and frankly I wasn't too impressed. It's plot is spporadic at best and there is quite a lot of crude bathroom humor. It's setting is a medieval world made up of many islands. Aqua Knights are basically knights with magical suits of armor for battling underwater. The story starts out when the main Character, Ruliya of Perla, washes ashore on Lighthouse Isle where she is found by Lord Arraboros, the keeper of Lighthouse Isle, and his son Ashika. Now this is where the story first begins to plummet. Ashika is a young and very naive child obsessed with the idea of feces (this is turned into a running gag throughout all three of the books). Now as you may have guessed, Lighthouse Isle sports a very large lighthouse powered by something called the "light sphere" which was supposedly taken from the lands of death itself. Now as the story progresses, Ashika and the lightsphere are taken by the wandering genius Alcantara and his crew of minions. Lord Arraboros dies in the process while Ruliya receives an enchanted blade called Muertogara, "the blade that can slay death itself", from the Knight of Death. Ruliya has no idea what the thing is or why it was even given to her in the first place, but she accepts it and goes off to hunt down Alcantara. The second book elaborates more on the blade and it's dark origins, hinting that the Knight of Death might have had some ulterior motive for giving it to Ruliya. This might have created an indepth and interesting subplot, but unfortunately the idea was quickly abandoned as the story skips to a random love drama between Alcantara and his one girl minion (???) The story cuts off quickly and very poorly with Ruliya and the Knight of Death and all of his minions defeating this copper monster-thing in very unclimactic battle and Alcantara getting married to his minion-girl and everyone becoming friends. (again, ????, my guess is that they ran out of funding and thus had to end the story quickly)
Not reccommended for younger audiences. Containes very crude and tasteless humor, some nudity, innuendo, and a very poorly constructed plot.
Fun Fact: It was created by the same artist who did Battle Angel Alita
