The man fell to the ground, weakend and lonely. The fight never seemed to improve. It seemed to only be nothing more than a beatdown for himself. The enemy stood tall, yawning, as if he were merely toying with the man. "How much longer are we going to play this game? Hope no longer exists for you. Look around you. Even your face shows it. You know you give and you give, but no one really cares. No one is there for you. No one wants you. You are a disgrace to them. You know that even if you win, you will be alone!! Let's end this and let me do what I came to do!"
The man, crouched on all fours, stayed there, breating heavily, spewing out small amounts of blood from the beatings. He struggled to catch breath. Finally, a tear rolled down his cheek. He knew the enemy that stood in front of him was telling him words that he feared the most. "He's right. Even if I defeated him....I'm still alone....there will be no one there to hold me. No one there to be proud of me. Just to do to me what has been done all these years: to leave me alone...."
He crouched and stayed in the position he was in. The enemy slowly walked up to him. He then whispered, "There, now. It will all be over very soon." With one last blow to the back of the head, the man took his last breath and fell lifelessly to the ground.
Those who had been watching from the sides were shocked and surprised. "He gave up?! He lost?! But why?!" The enemy then turned to them and replied, "And where were you when he needed you the most?! On the sides watching it happen. You did NOTHING to help his situation. You all act as though you could do nothing, but deep inside you truly were simply AFRAID to do anything. Leave him be! I did him a bigger favor than ANY of you ever could have. I finally made it all stop for him." Those around him cried and wondered how this could've happened. The enemy finally laughed at them all and replied, "Greed! Because it's all about ourselves! Never about anyone else!!"
