Description: Small and skinny, even for her age, Samara’s waif-like appearance and pallid skin is the result of her frequent bouts of illness as a child. Her black hair hangs thinly about her face and down to her shoulders; her grey eyes giving her a rather dulled, deadened appearance. However, she is a vociferous child; it seems all the cynicism and nonchalance of an adult four times her age has been compressed into her petite frame. Being bed-ridden much of her life, she lacks social graces, and thus has not many friends, but compensates for that with a caustic and defensive personality.
Starting Pokémon: Misdreavus (Psyche)
Background: Much of Samara’s life in her hometown of Taklakan was largely confined to her home. Unluckily cursed with off-and-on illness, she spent much of her childhood enviously watching the other children play and train together with their pokemon while she languished in her bed. Her frail life turned around when she was around eight. Her mother, a mystic, was communing with the spirits when a Misdreavus decided to crash the party. In its zooming about their house, Misdreavus paused and took pity on the bed-ridden girl… The Misdreavus decided to haunt their house until the girl was well again, occasionally bringing her father, an herbalist, rare herbs that he could not have obtained otherwise. Overtime, Samara became well through this care, bed-ridden no longer. To further her recovery, Samara has become determined to take the League challenge, using the intensive training to train herself as well, wanting to never be ill again. Unsurprisingly, Misdreavus waited for her as she left home – so attached to the girl it helped to cure and now appointed itself as her guardian.
