Suggestions for a wee beginner?

Hellooooo constructed languages guild!

Lately I've had enough spare time that I've been thinking of making a conlang. I am familiar with learning languages, but creating them is sort of, the opposite. I'm not sure where to start really. I have a few ideas in mind, but nothing really specific. For example, I know I'd like it to be a SOV or OSV language, probably an agglutinative language, and some various sounds and whatever that I like. But beyond that, what? How have you people gone about doing this?
