Inuzuka (犬塚) Compound

User Image

Description: The Inuzuka compound is a medium-sized compound, not too fancy like the Hyuuga's, but still kept presentable nonetheless. It's more practical than anything, built to accommodate and withstand its population of anywhere between 15 - 25 clansmen at one time. The air is always filled with the sound of barking and loud shouts. The colour scheme is beige and brown.

You should come here if you want to talk to the head of the Inuzuka family.

User Image

Locations: Despite the outwardly traditional appearance, the inside of the compound has progressed with the times. Rooms with the exception of shared rooms are decorated as the inhabitants please. Thus one bedroom may be traditional with paintings and a tatami mat while another may have posters of movie stars and a wooden bed.

Garden: There's no koi pond as there is with other established clans simply because the dogs tend to disturb them. Besides, it's a waste of money. There aren't that many nice plants either for the same reason. Instead, the garden is mainly a well-maintained grass field scattered with trees and bushes. Certain clan members /have/ tried to cultivate flowers. They failed.

User Image

Reception Room: The clan leader receives many guests in the course of a week, all in this room. Its decoration reflects the Inuzuka's commitment to their traditional values and loyalty to Konoha.

Dojo: The Inuzuka compound contains a dojo out back for clan members to practise techniques and train. It's sparsely decorated, with wooden walls, and contains a few training dummies, weapons, targets for target practice and so on.

Dining Room: The dining room is communal, as is the kitchen which can be accessed through a door leading from the dining room. The dining room is very long, with meals being taken at a long rectangular table capable of accommodating 25 people. Usually the alpha male [Shippo] and second in command [Bikou] sit at the top of the table on opposing sides. Of course if the group is much smaller, clansmen usually crowd on one corner of the table.

Clan Division: The Inuzuka are generally a very easygoing and accepting clan. Divorce, conviction of a crime, jail time, whatever, it's all the same to them and they will accept you no matter what provided that you've proven your goodwill towards them. Of course there is one exception. There is an archaic belief, albeit one that is quickly eroding, that any overt association to the number 4 is extremely unlucky and thus must be eroded. Since the eventual heir of the Inuzuka clan was born on one such day though, and has proven himself to be a fine jounin {and has since been rehabiliated}, this belief is losing its basis.

Population: The Inuzuka clan has always been a medium-sized clan. The expected losses of life to the perils of shinobi life is balanced up with the fact that the Inuzuka clan breeds like rabbits. >.> <.<

[Alpha] Inuzuka Shippo and Kenji [NPC]
[Second in Command] Inuzuka Bikou and Atsui [NPC]
Inuzuka Mimi and Maria [NPC]
Inuzuka Kai and Mawagi [kouri-chan_xx]

Inuzuka Aryza and Kuroi [dragaosgrada]

+many other Inuzuka and their dogs.

Stature: The name does not garner as much respect as some say the family deserves with their centuries of service towards Konoha. Nonetheless the Inuzuka take it all in stride. One suspects that if treated with too much reverence they wouldn't know how to react.

Financial/Political: The Inuzuka stay out of this, concentrating mostly on their shinobi assignments. They generally take up tracking and bodyguard missions due to their specialty. So you can say that they play their part in Konoha's political structure by safeguarding the important leaders.

Dress Code/Speech Patterns/Etiquette: Nobody cares. You can run around naked and the Inuzukas wouldn't mind, although you'd probably get arrested outside in Konoha. The one thing insisted upon is the triangle markings to the face. They are clan tradition tattooed on upon birth.

Languages: Japanese.

Yet another household he knew by appearance but not by its inhabitants. It seemed well off on its own, Kenjirou figured whoever lived inside could take care of themselves. He did not pay it much heed as he continued to run.

And on he ran...

Gihen quickly came upon the compound. It didn't seem that big, but he could hear a ton of barkng inside. There was also an odor of dogs and wolves.
"This could help me..."
He set his left hand into his pocket and slowly knocked on the door.
He was slowly, but surely, becoming interested in the Inuzuka Clan.

Bikou answered the door amidst the chaos. One of the dogs was whelping today... he saw a young kid, probably an academy student, who was not an Inuzuka. Cocking his eyebrow, he asked the kid, not meaning to be a little rough, "What do you want?"

Gihen looked up at the person, oting how much stronger he seemed than him. He shook himself out of his thoughts and nodded.
"I'm Souran Gihen. I was hoping to, if you'll allow me, learn how to handle animals from the Inuzuka. I know you don't usually accept requests like this, but I just wish to work with an animal as my partner."
He had a stubborn look on his face, but he knew that sch a request will most likely be denied.

Bikou frowned and was slightly distracted by the scent and the noise of new puppies trying to enter the world. Anyway... he looked at the boy again. He'd never heard of the Sourans before... Konoha was getting larger and larger by the day.

"You're right we don't..." he said before pausing a little and coming to a swift decision. "So, why do you want to work with animals, anyway?"

Gihen shook his head and sighed.
"Honestly, there hasn't exactly been any training for me in my clan's specific field. We are a clan of Puppet Users. Normally, I'd have training in Kugutsu no Jutsu by now, but I haven't. I thought that if I can't control a puppet, I can probably have an animal there with me. I just feel, even in a squad, it gets lonely on the battlefield. I want someone there who will always be loyal to me. Then, I heard about the Inuzuka clan. Well, here I am."

"Loyal to you?" Bikou said sharply. "But will you be loyal to them? Animals aren't just there for subservience, you know."

Gihen knew this was coming and pulled out the small puppet he always had with him.
"Animals and humans should be treated equally. Which is why I treat animals with the same respect I give humans. We are all inhanitants in this world."
He paused for a moment and smiled.
"The obvious answer is yes, I would. Only a heartless being would not be loyal to a partner."

Bikou glanced sceptically at the boy but his decision was already made.

"Well, we need help here anyway. There's some complications in this whelping... come in and make yourself useful."

He let the boy in and closed the door again. Inside, the b***h was howling in distress. A puppy was already out but something was wrong and his wife was frantically trying to ease the dog's pain.

Bikou turned to the boy. "The puppy is a little too big for its mother. Could you help pull out the puppy while I run and get some towels?"

Gihen nodded and stepped inside, gazing around the building.
"A whelping?"
He looked over and saw the b***h whelping. Now he understood what a whelping was.
"I'll try my best. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it."
He nodded and walked over.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 31, 2007 6:22 pm

"Well, ease her pain - murmur soft words - and just gently pull the puppy out. Don't pull too hard... we don't want the puppy to break any bones," Bikou said shortly as he hurried for the bathroom.

Mimi glanced at him with an urgent look. She was boiling some herbs and could not stray from the fire. "Sorry for my husband's abruptness," she said in a soft voice. "But he has a point... Misha could die if nothing's done."

Gihen nodded and slowly walked over to the dog.
"Well, I'll try my best."
He knelt down and gently stroked the b***h's head, feeling it pant very quickly.
"It's okay. Shh, calm down. We'll be done soon."
Gihen looked down and looked back at the woman.
"Is there a certain way to pull the pup out? I can't afford any screw-ups here."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 31, 2007 6:32 pm

Mimi quickly replied, "There is no specific method, but just pull down gently on the pup, slowly and steadily. It's not as hard as it sounds and the bones can usually stand it. My husband was exaggerating a little bit about the fragileness of the puppy's bones. Just pull slowly but forcefully and you should be fine."

Gihen nodded and turned back towards the dog.
"Hai. I'll try my hardest."
He stroked the dog's head once more before setting his hands around the pup's body and slowly pulling on it.
"Slowly, slowly..."
He continuosly pulled down on the pup, stopping every minute or so to caress the dog's head, calming it.
