Siren of Saturn yeah..that was kind of interesting. Nothing even happened! It is interesting to see what is hapening with the war with Israel though. They say that China, Russia, France, North Korea, and Iran will all be together in the destroying of Israel. Hopefully..the united states will think and support the Lord's chosen people.
The united states will not be a world power in the end times, it has been fortold, I have a tome dicribing this, but she shall have helped before then, I know not where my country of Canada shall be in this, but I know that Russia shall begin the Final battle of Armageddon, for She is Magog, fortold in revelations, and the Antichrist shall arise from the ashes of the Roman empire, Europe, and shall seduce the nations with his charismatic and persausive tongue, then shall the end of all things begin.

Siren of Saturn Haven923 I don't really mind about the 'WWIII', I'm waiting to get a good seat for the war after that. The war vs. Heaven and Hell. That is going to be fun 3nodding haha..i love that answer! ^_^ Very good!
Um...I'm a little lost. I thought it was the War of Heaven v. Anti-Christ. Which would be the armies of the world.

Just thought I'd share this:
ELCA Lutheran Pastor I definitely understand your concerns on the "end times" given all the recent attention in the media on all the negative stuff going on in the world and the attention the media evangelists give it and of course, the whole "Left Behind" series. However, in my opinion (which is what you asked for) it is, to steal a phrase from Shakespeare, "much ado about nothing." In other words, I don't think the end times should merit as much attention as we give them. It is not that I think they are unimportant, but that we really know so little about them, that I don't think God really intends for us to think that much about it.
Our model for when people ask us about the end times I think should be Jesus in Matthew 24. Basically, he is saying, "no one knows when but be ready for the coming of the Son of Man." Well, we ARE ready, we have faith, so what more needs to be done? And of all the words of Jesus recorded, this is the only time he speaks to this extent of the end times, so if he didn't seem concerned about it, why should we?
People also get very excited about what is going on in the world... Wars, especially in and around Israel, global warming, global dimming, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, and on and on. Well first of all, Israel has been in a perpetual state of war since it was formed in 1947, and it probably will continue to be--so I am not sure that is a real accurate measure of the end times coming. As far as all the other problems of global proportions--they are real, but I am not convinced that that is how the end of the world will come about. I think God is big into surprises, just like he surprised the world by sending the Messiah in the form of a simple carpenter's son, I think he may have a surprise in store for us when it comes to the end. So while we are focused on all these global problems, it may be something else entirely that brings about the end times.
I think Jesus' real point when he described all the signs that will signal the Son of Man coming is that it is going to be tough to continue to be faithful to Christ while all this bad stuff happens. It was tough to be a Christian when Rome was persecuting us in the first few centuries. It was tough to be Christian when the Muslims were dominating the Crusades. It was tough to be Christian in Nazi Germany, in many modern-day African Countries where Muslims arbitrarily kill us. In a lot of ways, it is tough to be Christian in the US with its largely secular society. On a more personal level, it is tough to be Christian when bad stuff happens, when I lose my job, when my mom dies, "whenever bad stuff happens to a good Christian like me." So in my mind we could go crazy trying to tie these events to the end of the world. Yet some people insist on doing so. And in most cases that is no big deal, but some leaders really abuse the power they derive from talking about the e nd times. Some leaders have convinced others that they know when the end of the world will come, and have caused their followers to give up their lives both figuratively and literally because of it.
It is ironic that this is precisely what I think Jesus is warning against in Matthew 24:4-6, 10-13, 23-24. So the same chapter many leaders use to mislead people contains a warning about such leaders that most people never catch or pay attention to.
So far, I have said nothing about "The Rapture" specifically. And the reason for that is that I think it is a MISinterpretation and very selective reading of certain scripture. In other words, somebody pulled together certain scripture from Matthew, Revelations, Daniel and maybe a few other places and came up with the idea of the rapture. That idea caught on, and now it is almost doctrine in certain churches. But if you take the whole scope of the Bible, the rapture makes absolutely no sense.
Here is the bottom line about what I think about the end times--and specifically about the rapture: The entire Bible taken as a whole says that God loves us, and that as his redeemed people, we are invited to respond to that love as God wants--by sharing that love that he first shows us by demonstrating our love for others. Now if that is the case, why in the world would God REMOVE his faithful from the earth in a rapture? God loves us, inspires us to love others, just so he can remove us from those who do not share in that love? That is where the whole idea of the Rapture falls apart.
I actually have a book which further explains some of what I am saying. It is called "The Rapture Exposed." If you want to read it, I can send it to you.
I have found that most people simply accept the rapture as a major doctrine of the Bible, but it is exactly the opposite. Somebody put together the idea of the rapture from a bunch of verses that he took out of context, and it caught on in popularity. So, now most people "know it is somewhere in the Bible," but it ein't!
I also have to once again rely on Martin Luther when it comes to all this excitement over the end times. He once said something like, "If I heard Christ was coming again in glory tomorrow, I would go out and plant an apple tree today." I think Luther probably meant that in 2 ways: First, since the Bible says that no one really knows when the end is, Luther would put no faith in that report, and would instead continue to live as if he would be around to eat the apples of the apple tree he would plant tomorrow. Second, since Luther and all Christians can be so secure in the fact that God has saved us through Jesus, we don't need to do anything special to prepare for his coming. Just continue to be faithful to his love and calling on our lives.
That about does it for my thoughts on the end times.
