Dinara's eyes brightened at the acceptance, leaning forward to grab ahold of the bones with tender paws before she turned to look at the family member in question. So bright! She reminded her of her old home. Hopefully it was a sign that she had found a good place to settle down.

Making her way over to Sawa, she lowered her head in greeting, tail curling a tad shyly around her leg. "It's nice to meet you." The brown lioness smiled, "I can't wait to get to know everyone better."

Dinara paused then to glance between the bones still tucked in her paw and the jewelry adorning Sawa, "So... how do I get started making one for myself?"

It seemed Sawa's little hope had been brought to light almost immediately as one of the joining females was placed in her family. Bright eyes lit up as the curly-furred female made her way towards her after Itiri sent the newcomer her way.

"Welcome," she said with a grin bright enough to match her pelt. While most of the lions here were a bit dreary or glum, Sawa was a bright spot among them both literally and figuratively. "I'm Sawa, it's wonderful to have another sister."

She stepped forward to give the newcomer a little nuzzle before glancing down at the bones in her paw. Her own dangled from her tuft with feathers attached, but all the brown lioness had was the bone.

"You know, I'm not sure myself," she said with a little laugh. "I wasn't born here and have only been here for a few moons. One of the born-in lionesses helped me with mine so I'm sure we can find someone to get you all done up in no time."

Is this Lion Joining to be a N'ezi mate? No
What Family is that N'ezi In? n/a

She had been born in the firekin, her mother and father had both been rogues in their youth and she and her siblings were their first litter. She had grown tall and strong not unlike the rest of the family and in size and bulk she was certainly every inch a typical firekin female. The only difference was her colour. Her salmon pelt had seen her gifted with the title of Huria and while this had been a source of upset as a youngster as she had grown to adulthood the thought of seeing the world had excited her.

She had travelled far following stories and sightings and whispering of lands farther afield than many had ever travelled to. Since the gods had caused great rumblings in the world so much had changed and while her travels had been interested, it hadn’t been long before she found herself wanting a home. Her massive paws found their way to the pride of death.

She had followed others in to the pride and having listened to the tales of the pride, the feeling of pure curiosity made her make her mind up very swiftly. She would join the pride and find her new home, a home she could stay in.

PostPosted: Fri Jun 07, 2019 4:21 pm
She couldn't help the cheerful flick of her tail at the warm welcome, a soft smile solidifying itself on her maw. For as much as she was wanting something new, it was comforting to know that her new home was kind. Or, at least, her new family was, and that was good enough for her. She could already tell that she would become friends with Sawa.

Letting out a laugh at her response, Dinara nodded, "Let's find someone then, huh? I could use a tour anyway." She paused to look around her, "Everything is so different here than what I'm used to, but I can't wait to see more of it."

Her head tilted curiously, "Have you been enjoying it here?"

Name: Pasha (He currently has no Cert but he is a rogue)
Is this Lion Joining to be a N'ezi mate? No
What Family is that N'ezi In?N/A

User ImagePasha traveled all over the lands, looking for an older sister he learned he had when he was just a cub. His mother, a cruel and heartless lioness, never wanted cubs. She had countless flings and probably more children then she cared to admit. She never stuck around long enough to care. Every one in a while, she would have one she either could get rid of or didn’t know how.

This is how he learned that long before he was born, he had a sister as black as the heart his mother had. His mother had abandoned her just as she abandoned him when he was just a small cub. He learned very quickly that growing up in the rogue lands without a parent was hard. So he went in search of his sister if she was alive. He didn’t know. He looked and looked until he grew into an adult.

He gave up his search though. For as long as he was out there, looking for a lioness that may or may not be alive, he would have surely have found her by then. What he wanted was s a family to call his own. A family that actually cared about him and one he could care for as well. He heard rumors of a pride that was very much like a big family and just his luck, the pride was letting in new members for a limited time. He had made it to the Nezi pride lands and sighed in relief when he saw they were indeed letting in new members. He was told that he would need to meet with a Seer that would look into his heart. He didn’t understand what that meant, but Pasha had nothing to hide.

“I’m Pasha and I would like to join,” he said as he bowed his head respectfully to the Onyeisi and the seer.

To think Tsatsana would find herself amongst a pride group of lions. A home in a pride was never something she really wanted, however, the days in the rogue lands were getting dark. She couldn't keep watching her own back from others. A family unit was needed if she wanted to live out her life in peace.

This pride? It was secluded enough for her liking, and it seemed rather quiet. At least, that was what she could here from the whispers of prey beast or avians in the rogue lands. For Tsatsana....she would take it.

She watched as others spoke out. She shifted on her paws until she too, decided it was her turn. "The world knows me as Tsatsana," her voice was quiet, eyeing the pride members. "I request to be able to stay amongst your ranks."

Mberede

It was a strenuous hike to find them, but as she made her way over the crest of the caldera, she knew she had found the place.

When she had first heard of the pride that worshipped Death, something in her heart twinged. She and her brother had been orphaned quite young - they had been in their den while their parents were off finding food, and after several hours the two young adolescents realized that their mother and father may not be headed back. Thus, Nyeusi and Nyekundu wandered off, stumbling over the broken bodies of both their parents. It was unclear what had happened, but certain limbs were bent in ways they certainly should not have been.

Nyeusi found herself entranced. Her first real run-in with the death of a lion, and it felt so peaceful, so final. It was strange. Nyekundu did not react so stoically; he was heartbroken. But Nyeusi meditated on it, ruminated over it, and found herself strangely comforted by the fact that life had a definitive begin and end.

Now, moments later, she stood in front of the Onyeisi and the seer who would now look into her heart to determine if she was of pure enough good to join the pride. It was striking, leaving her brother, whom she had been attached to for so long, but something about this just felt so right. Nyeusi bowed her head respectfully, and addressed the two lions. "My name is Nyeusi - I have traveled far to be here today and am honored to be under consideration to join this great pride." She then closed her mouth and waited for judgement to be brought down upon her.

She was larger than most; far larger in fact than most of the native N'ezi that resided here. Yet despite her taller form she had passed the seer's test and now stood before Itiri. He spoke little in those moments, merely sweeping the bones that would become her's into his paw, to extend them in a warm welcome.

She would find her place here and perhaps in turn she might unveil the mysteries around why her kind had needed to grow quite so big.

...He wouldn't have been surprised if some of the males regarded her with some hesitation. They wouldn't be the largest in the pride anymore and that was something they would just have to get used to!

"The Mberede will welcome you."

The hesitation hadn't been there, no sooner had Pasha bowed than he had been granted approval. The Onyeisi hadn't needed the touch of a seer to know that this one had seemed genuine though. He wasn't one to expect deference, but the automatic level of respect had been something to take note of and he soon found himself bowing his own head in greeting.

So this one was 'Pasha'?

He reached out for the chord and bone that would become a sign of his family and held it out for the blue lion to take.

"A pleasure, Pasha," he offered softly. "The Nganga will take you as one of their own..."

Quiet in demeanour and natural in colour, this one was likely to bring comfort to those who had been spooked by the brighter colours and more dramatic personalities. Far be it from Itiri to deny anyone a home and it seemed that their Seer had been in agreement. Like those who had gone before her, she had passed whatever test was required. On occasions Itiri did have to wonder what this entailed.

...All he knew was that they had to be 'true of heart' and he hadn't quite worked out what that definition was. Regardless, provided that they meant no harm to his home, then they were welcome to find peace here.

"Tsatsana, I expect the Mberede will be honoured to have you," he murmured as he held out the bones for her to take. She would need to place the chord into them herself, but he had no doubt that she would be capable.

The Uju.

It came as a surprise to hiim and any observer would have seem him doubletake as he was granted insight into the family she was destined to join. It had seemed that the ancestors had seen fit to bolster the ranks of two or three families as of late and the Uju had not been one of them. His lips had parted previously as he sought confirmation before nodding and turning his head towards the lioness once more.

"The honour is ours," he replied softly and placed the bones before her. The chord still remained unattached, but she seemed able enough and he doubted she would struggle to complete the final step of that which would mark her as one of them.

"May you find your place within the Uju family, Nyeusi."

User Image The Aguu will bid you greeting. Giving a bow so that the necklace may be placed around his neck he accepted it whole-hearted and gave a smile, he had a home. A family!

It didn't take away from his family that was back in the pride where he was born though, it was just that he wasn't able to remain there despite having grown up there, knowing nothing else and then finding out he wouldn't be able to stay.

It had broken his heart to say the least and as soon as he was able he had struck out on his own so that the pain of leaving his family wouldn't be any worse than what it already was. Time spent with them meant more time getting attached and he couldn't deal with that.

So here he was, new place, new faces and a new home.

"Thank you." Lifting from his bow he took a step away and moved towards where other's were gathering. Aguu family huh? He wondered if anyone from that family was here to greet him as he'd seen other's greet those that were welcomed into the fold.

Name/Cert of Lion: Siri'wasii
Is this Lion Joining to be a N'ezi mate? No
What Family is that N'ezi In? N/A

Siri'wasii could not explain even to herself what it was that she felt now. The seer, strange as his abilities were, had detected nothing morally deficient within her heart. Doubt shouldn't plague her mind so, but it still did. The red lioness was no stranger to tragedy, but she supposed that just because one's life was tragic did not mean that she was bad. Still, it was difficult to shake away the unease that had settled in the pit of her stomach.

She had traveled a long way to make it here, not that this place had ever been her intention. But, it was perfect. Secluded, almost cut off from the rest of the world. It was nice, when the rest of the world was something she'd rather avoid for now. She had experienced enough of it in her many years.

She had family, connections out there, but she had cut off a majority of them after the death of her first mate. The memory of that sent a chill down her spine, her carelessness - her eagerness to cover her grief by pursuing another. Young and foolish, and now she was older but not much less foolish. A sigh rested heavily upon her tongue, but she would rather swallow the sound than let it be heard.

This was it, this was the new start of her life, the beginning of her final chapter.

Tucked away in a corner of the gathering stood a small lioness, uncertainty plain on her face. Miniya was just trying to get to the other side, having just come back from an outing with her mother, and all she really wanted to do was go back to her little den. Which.. okay, translated to the tiny hovel she'd found after her parents had more or less kicked her and her siblings out. They'd gotten sick of the not-so-little-anymore children mooching off of them.

Curling her tail beneath her, Miniya tried to maneuver to the side of the crowd, only to get pushed back. With a whine, she waited until an opening finally appeared before diving into it, hoping to rush through unnoticed.

Which of course meant that she'd trip up and run right into someone. With a squeak, she stumbled backwards away from the red lion, ears flat against her head. "S-sorry...!"

It seemed that all those who had sought them out had now been tended to, or at least with the passing of Siri'wasii into their ranks, they could put the ritual of joining to bed for another solstice. Unsurprisingly, Nche seemed to have been fortunate in this run, finding none who might be cause for concern and Siri'wasii was to be of no exception.

Her family though, was one he hadn't expected to hear given that the ancestors had favoured some of the other families more firmly on this solstice.

"The Ahuojoo, is that so?" Itiri smiled gently as he pushed the necklace towards the red lioness and gave a small nod. "We bid you welcome," he added and motioned towards the meandering lions of the Ajuojoo line who would be most curious to meet her. He would refrain from making any remarks regarding a lack of confidence, given they were all so new to their new home, he wouldn't blame any of them for displaying such behaviour.

...In time, he'd simply hoped they would settle.

"I believe that brings us to a close," Itiri smiled towards the Seer and took one last look around to ensure that there were no further lions nearby that might have sought them out. Seeing none for now, he gave a wave and allowed Nche to find respite elsewhere to rest and recuperate. The rest would be up to each family as they tended to their new blood. He would be watching with piqued interest to see what each would bring to the N'ezi.
